Hi Eds, do you know the current status of Kovacic and Clyne? I would be more than happy to see them arrive at Anfield, but why do we set ourselves up to fail every window?? I understand you have to manage to expenditure but all we do is advertise we have made a derogatory bid and alert the big guns to step in and buy them. We need a new transfer policy IMO. Is there also serious interest in Klopp? I read this could be from both directions?

{Ed001's Note - according to Southampton they have received no bid for Clyne and are expecting him to sign a new contract. I don't know anything about a bid for Kovacic.}

You should not believe all you read in the press.95% of it is either made up rubbish or copied from someone elses made up rubbish.

Yes there is a lot of rubbish but we have failed to sign an abundance of players as we seem to spend weeks/months negotiating bids before losing the deal to someone else. Hence we end up with a load of players that are not good enough!!

Well that's quite firm response Ed, I thought the Clyne bid was true ffs but that's done it for me lol. Seems all we've been reading on these 2 players is not true.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is papers make more of things than they are, bids are extremely rare in modern football, yet they are full of bids going in. Normally it is more of a negotiation, then a fee agreed and deal done. No bids involved in that at all. If you read about a bid, 99.9% of the time it is utter nonsense, no matter who is involved. They will talk of a bid when a rep has simply asked if he would consider a move to a particular club. It doesn't even necessarily mean they will make a move, just means they can decide whether to include him on a shortlist of possibles or just remove them from the equation altogether. If a paper gets that info they will talk of a bid and then put a figure to it.}

it's truly amazing what i/we learn on this page. The eds and fellow posters give so much insight into how the sport we love really works. I know the eds and fellow posters don't always agree with what i say but i respect everyones opinion. YNWA
