Nathaniel Clyne has just completed his medical at Melwood. Pictures showing him leaving and the signing should be confirmed later. Good signing for the £12.5M price paid. Also of note Coates to Sunderland for £2M should be com0leted in the next few days.

£2m. Really? This went from £5m to £4m now £2m. Wow we are poor in the selling market. Torres, Suarez and that's about it for decent prices in.
Be interested to know how much, back in the day, Gerrard to Chelsea was agreed for? £10m?
To put this into context. We sign unknown, untested Gomez for £3.5m then sell Uruguay international, player of the tournament a couple of years ago for £2m. With prem experience.

Prem experience who nearly got relegated last season. Doesn't fit into style of play. Recovering from a injury where he lost a yard of pace he never had. In comparison to a homegrown talent with more potential and available to play two positions rather than one. Is stronger, faster and was scouted by more clubs than what was mentioned in the publicity of his transfer. No-one was bidding for Coates so it's either keep him and his wages or cut your losses and run

I would agree with Soylent I think,
Worth remembering that £30 million then was an eye watering amount, Shevchenko was deemed one of the best strikers in the world(couldn't best Jerszy though ;) and moved for £30 million or so,

2M is nothing for `Coatsy`. No it didn't work out at LFC but you just know he going to end up captain at Milan or somewhere like that. Sunderland will be just a stepping stone move.
