Ed1 or Ed2,

I keep hearing rumours about Henderson to Spurs (there's a rumour on this site today) .

Are these rumours realistic or is just rubbish? The rumour appears to have been around a lot.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach from Spurs to either Liverpool or any representative of Henderson. Spurs have looked at a number of midfield players but I am not aware of Henderson being one.}

even if they was true think the injury has put paid to that now?

We average 1.13 points per game without Henderson – a record which would have us 16th in the Premier League table if it was spread across the 30 games we have contested.

When Henderson does play, we average 1.87 points per game. That is a stark difference, and better than every team in the division other than Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City.

Simply put, we are much more productive when Henderson plays. We score more goals, concede fewer and win a lot more points. That is a significant impact from the skipper.

1,87 points × 30 games = 56 pts by now and 2 games in hand, if Hendo had been fit all season. Interesting, we have looked a lot calmer in midfield when he's been playing, even though JH has not really done himself justice at all this season.

Sorry leek everyone has an opinion but I think Henderson has suffered massivley from people wanting him to be Gerrard just because he's captain. Henderson to me is everything that Allen should have been. Keeps it simple most of the time, always gets back to help the defence and provides runs from deep to support the attack. His technical ability is often underrated and his quick link up play is up there with the best in our team currently.

Consistently one of our better creators in terms of chances created and assists and the stats prove this. If he added a few more goals to his game I doubt we would be able to hold onto him with where we are currently. Every manager who's ever had him available has rated him and We always do better with him in the team even it seems like he's not doing much. First name on the team sheet for me.

Seriously Leekuanyew? That's how you describe him?

Leek strikes again with the nonsense.

numbers can mislead, but that is a great stat. for me Hendo, Can, Allen, Milner are all too similar. we have little balance in the midfield. ya can't accuse hendo of being a headless chicken and let Can get away without criticism! I think that the balance in midfield is really important and would prefer that Lucas is in there to allow can / hendo to push forward. say lucas anchor, can box to box and hendo higher up the pitch.
