02 Jun 2016 17:18:59
Coutinho has been are best player for the last 2 years . We need to stop selling are best players . Coutinho is not over rated btw.

02 Jun 2016 17:33:04
2013-14: 5 goals in 37 matches
2014-15: 8 goals in 52 matches
2015-16: 12 goals in 43 matches
It definitely means he is improving every season and he is still 23.

02 Jun 2016 17:50:36
Not overrated. Again, another poster quick to dismiss one of our own as soon as you don't like him anymore. He's just been voted player of the season for two years running. He is one of our best and you need to keep your best players to build a team.

02 Jun 2016 17:51:09
Logic like yours is the reason we are becoming more and more of a midtable team. Look at our trajectory since the start of the 90's and ask yourself why this has happened, one of the reasons is because we sell our best players and don't replace them at all.

02 Jun 2016 17:57:52
Love how all our best players become "over-rated" when they're linked with a move away.

02 Jun 2016 17:58:41
Coutinho took 111 shots in the league last year, nearly as many as Sturridge, Benteke, and Origi combined, scoring 8. I like the kid, but he should be scoring a lot more than he is given the ridiculous number of shots he takes.

02 Jun 2016 18:04:04
Yeah let's sell a great player and replace him with three decent. That's a great way to succeed! 🤔Or a great way to run a football club into the ground more like. It doesn't matter how many players you have. Only 11 go on the pitch!

02 Jun 2016 17:32:03
You clearly know we have issues when people have two different opinions on Coutinho. He is a world class player who is getting trashed for reasons beyond my logic.

02 Jun 2016 18:14:55
He's certainly not over rated, he's clearly a very good player. But every player has a price, that's realism and we can't keep a player against his will such is the modern game, the only thing is that if he wants to go then we get the best price we can and certainly more than we got for Sterling.

02 Jun 2016 19:16:29
Coutinho should score more goals. He should probably get more assists. How many important goals does he get?
How many moves are started by him turning their man and picking the right pass, for which he receives no goal ot assist?
He is quality at linking up the play and finding pockets of space, a real good puppet master.

02 Jun 2016 19:23:53
just because he wants to leave shouldn't change the fact that he is a good player.

if he so wishes to leave i'm sure the club will allow him to leave at the right price.

bt that does not make him over rated.

02 Jun 2016 19:31:47
The OP sounds so bitter, it`s frightening.

02 Jun 2016 19:36:55
FSG shocking owner's, wish we had hicks and Gillette back they were far superior and invested much more and improved the stadium.
Klopp, you're having a laugh ain't ya. Surely Gary Monk was a better option with his history of success (no offence to monk) .
Coutinho, Henderson, Sturridge are all crap aren't they. Surely we should have messi Bale and Ronaldo with us being a top club winning every competition and sitting as champions of europe for the tenth year running.
See this drivle? That's what we had to endure feom you then. You don't deserve to call yourself a fan.

02 Jun 2016 19:38:49
Never said he wasn't a good player I have said he is overrated by Liverpool fans yes he's young but far better players in many premier league sides as I said he's to slow for a klopp team and can't track back effectively he has a few nice tricks now and again but really can't do the simple things in an ideal world he's be a good player to keep
I've never really liked him it's got nothing to do with him wanting to leave just hate the way lpool fans make him into something he's not and its him that wants to leave, if he wants a really big club he needs to learn to do the simple things there is a reason Kaka gets chosen ahead of him.

02 Jun 2016 19:49:18
I hear that he said he'd consider going if we didn't get champions league, which is fair enough, it he is one of the reasons we never as was missing in that final.

Deffo keep. Only 23.

02 Jun 2016 19:58:55
I don't want Liverpool to be a selling club. This send a signal to the other players aswell as other teams know they can cherry pick our best players. If you want to win things, you habe to have stability in the team, and you won't have that if you have to replace your players everytime one of them plays good for 2 seasons. please keep Coutinho.

02 Jun 2016 20:35:32
Coutinho is the best player we have, perhap, he'd have more assists if the majority of players around him had played more consistently and with better movementioned, and perhaps taken less long shots or half chances had more options been available if the rest had made more options. And I've seen him track back and pinch the ball back plenty of times. Type of player we should be doing all we can to keep.

02 Jun 2016 20:52:37
Ye need to add players around coutinho that compliment their strengths.

02 Jun 2016 23:31:19
I think he's good but I too believe he is overrated. if we could get 75 mil for him sell sell sell. he's not nearly impactful as saurez (I know he's not in the same position) he goes missing in to many games. where was he in the Europa final? I like him don't get me wrong I just don't think selling him will drop us into relegation and keeping him is not looking likely to propel us to 4th. i'd rather take a gamble on several potentials that could become stars.

02 Jun 2016 23:32:46
Think the original poster may have been joking, saying we could get 3 decent players with the money as we did Suarez, Sterling etc.

02 Jun 2016 23:42:43
Hahah . That hit a nerve didn't it. he's a good player but he Can easy be replaced with the cash. Why would i be bitter when i think he's over rated. ? Some strange comments there 😀.

03 Jun 2016 00:22:34
It's hard because we have no Europen football to replace him . I'm worried for this transfer window.

03 Jun 2016 01:22:13
£50 million didn't get us 3 good players last year or the year before that. These days £50 million might just about get us Sadio Mane.

03 Jun 2016 01:53:54
Easy to throw stats about, RDL, do you have the stats for his attempts outside the box? Far harder to convert one would assume. Honestly, some of our fans are as bitter as the Blue Noses; embarassing post.

03 Jun 2016 01:54:35
Coutinho is a quality player and has the potential to be world class. I don't think any one here really would want or hope he leaves. That is just pure denial with the fact they know it is quite possible. I would say he is a tiny bit overrated but only in the sense the majority of footballers are. I wouldn't be hugely worried about him leaving, or as devastated as I was the moment I heard Suarez had a wee snack at the world cup and all but said his goodbuys. However I'd still rather he stayed. money is overrated too.

02 Jun 2016 23:01:48
Sorry all but isn't it COUTINHO who wants to leave not Liverpool putting him up for sale?

02 Jun 2016 23:01:49
Tell me oh wise OP, who can Liverpool buy with the money from Coutinho's sale, who will be at a similar level or better than the Coutinho, but yet with potential to improve and reach a higher level like Coutinho, and wouldn't be on ridiculous wages and transfer fees, and who would want to move to Liverpool, and will improve the first team? Then after we get this magical player, can you also guarantee that this new hypothetical signing will be a success?

Coutinho Overrated? Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, PSG and Chelsea are among the clubs who have followed Coutinho over the past 2 years. Do you think these clubs find Coutinho overrated?

21 goals and 24 assists in 107 PL appearances, improving every season since he has been here, still only 23, named in the PL team of the years last season by his peers, aptly recognized as one of the best attacking midfielders in the World right now, and without a doubt the best player at Liverpool (as shown by the awards he scooped up so easily this season) . So, which part about Coutinho is it that you find "overrated"?

03 Jun 2016 03:27:25
I honestly don't know if OP was being facetious about selling couts and using the money for 3 more players. That has been one of the problems over the last couple of seasons. Selling a good player and bloating the squad.

Coutinho has been great for Liverpool, sure there is inconsistency, however he is 23 and still has development and has put on great performances and scored some cracking goals.

He hasn't turned against the club, while he is an LFC player he should be supported and feel welcome. If we keep getting upset players are linked with moves and turn toxic all we do is push them away from us before anything has happened and make their decision easier or prompt them to look elsewhere.

03 Jun 2016 07:50:05
I like my job and am loyal, hard working and reliable. If someone else offered me better benefits, more money and company car. I am taking it!

03 Jun 2016 08:15:20
From what has been said previously it appears Coutinho wants out. So if he wants to go and there is a team willing to meet an evaluation he should be sold. No player that wants to leave will give everything which eventually will effect the team as a whole.

03 Jun 2016 09:08:00
Here's a possible scenario sell coutinho for 45+ and that makes room for gotze or keep coutinho?

03 Jun 2016 09:15:57
We should definitely, definitely, NOT sell Coutinho. Period.

LFC fans saying we should sell Coutinho but "reinvest the funds wisely", seem to be forgetting that we don't seem to attract big name or established talents anymore.

I mean, even with Klopp's help, we couldn't even beat BvB to Dembele. Nor could we even persuade Gotze to get off Bayern's bench for sky high weekly wages, again with Klopp, the man who helped make Gotze's career.

The reality, is that without Champions League and also sitting at 8th, we don't look like a team that we can "wisely" use Coutinho funds to sign a player anywhere near Coutinho's caliber in the summer transfer market. We'd have to buy potential, and even there, we're losing out (We had a better chance at Dembele before he tore it up after December) .

IMHO, Klopp made a mistake in turning down Teixiera in January. I think he did so, with the hopes that we could land either Dembele or Gotze for a much smaller fee. But now that gamble has not paid off, and we don't have any of these targets.

Teixeira was a big fee, but at least he wanted to come. Wanted to play for the shirt.

All in all, be prepared for a summer where we bring in younger unknowns, along the lines of what Klopp did at BvB when he first arrived.

And keep Coutinho because the funds won't get you any player worth his contributions (unless, of course, he is dead set on going) ; and if it's spent, it'll probably be spent on overvalued and overrated EPL players like Sadio Mane.

03 Jun 2016 09:36:03
Coutinho will be a major loss if he were to leave.
To all who say get 50 mil and re-invest, its never that simple.
A settled player who is performing is worth more than bringing someone in who may or may not hit the ground running.
Let me put it this way. if coutinho was still at Inter and we were linked with him, considering his recent performances for Brazil, everyone would be saying sign him up.

03 Jun 2016 13:41:57
some proper fans have shown their heads today in slating PC, to say he is overated is just stupid we can't get another player that's better in the market today for the price we paid for him, he is improving and getting better, if he goes it will be a big loss for the club, he a young man and will win things for the club he is at, i hope he stays with us, and most of his goals are from outside the box how many players in the prem has scored more goals from outside the box.

03 Jun 2016 15:54:59
Sure, Fornax, it's easy enough to look up. Coutinho took 69 shots outside the area, scoring 4, and 42 shots inside it, also scoring 4. He had the 5th most shots in the league behind Kane, Lukaku, Aguero, and Vardy.

I'm not saying he's a bad player or we should sell him, the reference was to the poster who showed his improvement in goal scoring. The point being that I'd expect someone taking as many shots as that to score a fair few more than he has done so, for me, saying that he's improved in goal scoring is technically true, but comes at a cost (especially given that only 30 of the 111 were on target) .

03 Jun 2016 19:05:51
Some fan. Unbelievable.
