We had the opportunity to go for him years ago and everyone on here slates him and said he wasn't good enough.

He's another "Wing back" i. e. Not good enough defending to be a fullback but also not good enough attacking to be a winger.
We need a fullback who can defend.

Hector is excellent defensively, and not too bad from an attacking sense.
