Eds,
Seen the Gossip page has a quote from Klopp in regards to Dolberg. Has a journo asked him about possible interest and do you think Liverpool may look at him?
Looks like he could be a great striker in years to come, just hadn't seen much of a link between us and him.
I'd have thought he would be a Barca, Madrid, Munich, Man City type target but would be glad if we were in the running.

Thanks in advance eds.

{Ed002's Note - He was asked about Danish players by a Danish journalist during an interview. Chelsea and Manchester City have a declared interest in Ajax's Kasper Dolberg who has also been watched by Manchester United, Rangers, Everton, Sunderland and others.}

As good as he could become we have origi who is our development striker. Anyone who comes in now needs to deliver 2 weeks before they sign. If we want to keep up wi5h the rest but still wish to develop youth then there's an academy for that.

First team ready players now.

Supermane, while logical, ethical and sound, I am not sure your approach really works in today's big business, fast profits world of football. Owners, teams and even the fans want quicker, almost immediate winning results, and we all know it.

So while having a grassroots approach of building up and development through academies is the correct one (IMO), the big teams all are using an approach of developing a team of existing senior players, development players (subs and youth teams what-not) and buying the best appropriate players on the market at any given time.

Look at Barcelona with their first team and their famed academy, and yet they are still always on the lokout for the next superstar available on the market. Or look at Chelsea and ManC with their loaned out players (38 and 17) and their ability to cherry pick any player back from a loan if he adds to the first team. (We have 12 players on loan BTW, but perhaps not so cleverly purchased) .

I'm not arguing with you. Just saying that if Klopp and coaches see Dolberg as better (at present and in future) than Origi, then so be it and let's go out and try to buy him. I'm not at all comfortable with the notion that a first team's success should be held back, because we are waiting for players from the subs or youth teams to develop.

It doesn't work, and you certainly don't maximise your chances to win trophies this way. Let's have an approach of creating a team with the best senior squad, the best youth teams possible and buying the best possible players available in the market. Put them all in the mix, and then the best players available, play on any match day.

I agree we may not have the money available as other teams, but then every team should function within its fiscal means anyway, so I'm not even considering this aspect of it.

We have enough youngsters in our academy. What we need is a first team players.

Ed002, if we we're to move for Dolberg now after Klopps comments, would we not be at risk of a charge for tapping up?

If the guy is a target, Klopp has publically unsettled him. Saw this with Zielinski and Gotze last time out. Hope Jurgen has learned his lesson.

{Ed002's Note - No and he has not been a player Liverpool has shown any interest in. He was asked by a Danish journalist if he had heard of Dolberg.}

Ahh good to hear then Ed. Media set him up with a loaded question!

{Ed002's Note - No.}
