Hey ed001 i read somewhere tha daniel sturridge is a doubt for the game against palace, are you aware of anything like that?

{Ed001's Note - apparently so. Shame. Hopefully it is not bad enough to keep him out, as he needs games.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Can i ask you ed what according to you is the main problem which is always keeping him away from being injury free?

{Ed001's Note - he has physical issues due to his physique which make it very difficult for him to be injury free. Explosive players are always more prone to little niggles. That explosiveness causes a lot of muscle strains, which can lead to worse injuries as the body tries to compensate.}

Tell you what Ed1 you sound as tho you've got a a lot of patience for Sturridge.

{Ed001's Note - I do because I know what he does behind the scenes for the club and his attitude has been excellent. People have this false impression he is sulky, whereas he is anything but and has made an effort to help others while out injured, when he could easily have sulked. Where most players just get drunk and mawdlin while injured, which is how so many end up with drink, drugs and gambling related problems, Sturridge does not drink or get into mischief. He is a proper professional who does what he can to ensure he can get fit. It is just bad luck that his body is simply unable to cope with the demands made of it. If he had been born a few years later, the advances in training may have come in time to avoid a lot of the problems he has suffered. Sadly Roy Hodgson and his arrogance has to take the blame for most of the current injuries.}

His injury problems are so depressing, what a player he was. He had everything footwork, movement and blistering pace. He was the complete forward. Hope he gets a decent move this Summer preferably abroad and he gets back to his form of 13/ 14. Hate the supposed fans who think he fakes the injuries, the guy loves playing for LFC.

23 Apr 2017 05:08:26
This kind of insight is really helpful Ed - thanks. really feel for the guy.

{Ed001's Note - Square Tomato will tell you how much Studger has helped out Joe Gomez, for instance. If we had more players with his attitude, then we would be a lot better off.}

Cheers for the reply Ed 👍.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate.}

23 Apr 2017 08:14:58
Thank you Ed this is both reassuring in terms of his attitude and disappointing to know he clearly has had such bad luck. I get a little frustrated seeing him on the pitch cruising in what looks like second gear but reality is that's all he can do with out getting injured risking injury etc. On the flip side he is still that good in terms of football brain, movement and finishing that there is a place for him in our side even when not 100%.

{Ed001's Note - there are so many things that affect performances, especially when a player is returning from injury, it is often difficult to judge a player. The brain is still there, the fast feet and the vision, so he just needs to recover the fitness, both physical and mental, to allow him to get back to his best.}

He's honestly the nicest bloke, everyone loves him especially the youngsters he's helped massively, and now Brewster is the latest he's taken under his wing.

23 Apr 2017 09:19:49
Would you keep him ed? if he's as good as you say around the place and we were recieving offers not worthy of the player would it not make more sense to keep the player and not have to worry about getting a forward in.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

23 Apr 2017 12:08:41
Studge hasn't been explosive for three years! He's just either made of glass or plain lazy. Shame because he could've been one of the worlds best strikers.

23 Apr 2017 13:12:56
Sturridge is the most complete forward we had in a long time. He could score all type of goals. Technically he is first class. He has terrific pace. short back lift, which is a blessing for a striker and excellent finishing abilities.
His goal against Sevilla outside his left foot from absolutely nothing is just one his genius skills.

23 Apr 2017 13:32:44
I've said it before about sturridge he has a different technique of striking a ball, his swing is so straight, with all the power coming from the explosive movement of the quad. As a kid I had a similar problem taking goal kicks as our keeper was a too fat lol. It puts a lot of strain on the knees and muscles in and around it. I was never right until I stopped playing for a few years, and even now when I play it hurts afterwards.

Always been a fan huge fan Sturridge however after what he did to Dr Zaf, my opinion changed on him. He obviously has the talent but unfortunately he is always injured.

23 Apr 2017 21:09:07
He is well and truly FINISHED.

24 Apr 2017 02:45:31
Ed's
How did Sturridge stay fit under Brendan Rodgers? was it down to the Training methods?
thanks.

{Ed001's Note - it was mainly down to the main damage not having been done by England at that point.}

Love comments like Pips. Here is a detailed understanding of what is wrong with sturridge and why it keeps happening, as well as why it keeps happening and what Sturridge does about it. But nah, here's a fan whose ready his face for 5 minutes he has been on screen in the past 6 months with his view cause that has equal weight.
