I've been crossing my fingers for the Brandt deal, but if it is Salah, I'll get behind it all the way. In Klopp we trust!

It does seem a little odd ed but perhaps the club are confident he or Mane could play from the other side. In fact I think Mane has done previously and his best form before moving to Liverpool was actually centrally.

Is it not also a little insecure from Brandt wanting assurances? If he is the clubs primary target he should be aware we aren't after a substitute, if he wants to play he'll have to perform and train well or like anyone in the squad he'll be out. I don't know about you but I think players wanting assurances (some contractually) doesn't sit well with me. Back yourself, work hard and use your brain. If you are number 1 target you'll be thought of as important to the team.

Well said Brandt needs to believe in himself as he's a good player.
Brandt would be my preferred option but im happy with Salah if that's who the club choose.

Isn't Salah left footed? Mane right footed?
Can't say I am over excited if Salah had to join due to him failing at Chelsea but both are able to play on either side.

Cool, thanks for the answer Ed002. I won't give up hope of Brandt copping on and signing on the dotted line, then. A huge club in the CL and he will start games, of course he will. But there are 5 or 6 other very good forward players in the squad, you have to earn your place mate.

i thought he couldn't settle in the UK previously? im not so sure he is even interested in coming back after all that, but who knows i guess, navas once refused to leave spain as he'd be homesick.

For me brandt should go join a step up from leverkusen but somewhere he knows he will play
No player in thr history of the game joins one of the big guns and doesn't have uber competion for him place.
Assurances can't exist. Every player will ave ups and downs in a season and when its time to be droppes ots your time, very few never have those peaks.
If its someones time and theu habe certain obligstions in their contract then what's the manager meant to do.
There is not one guarenteed starter in are team. Every single one cane be dropped.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited by the prospect of Mane and Salah on the wings. Just because it didn't work out at Chelsea under Mourinho means nothing, look at DeBruyne? Just pay the fee and get him in if he wants to come.

StraightTalk, I was arguing the exact same thing as you a few days ago yet for some reason, everyone massively downvoted me for it, while everyone agrees with you today!
If a big club is after you the way Liverpool are, and you're interested, then don't p*ss about with this 'assurances' crap. Accept it for what it is and either take the risk or leave it. I know he's looking after himself, but he can't wrap himself in cotton wool either.

That's why I don't understand why people give out saying Klopp has assured Karius he would be no1 when, regardless of what assurances are made if the player is not training or playing as good as was first thought assurances are irrelevant.
I think rather than people suggesting klopp was wrong for saying it, should be saying good job on taking it on the chin and making a call that needed to be made. Karius could push on but with no motivation he won't at lfc anyway. Further to this I'm sure klopp assured him he could be no1 but would have a fight on his hands. Doubt he told him he was cast iron.
If Brandt needs assurances he's missing a big attribute confidence.

going backwards with salah . back to brendas days playing people in wrong positions trying to fit square pegs in eound holes while our competition sifns better players and moves further away from us . use the youth players don't buy stupidly.
