Barca make 72m bid for Coutinho to be rejected. Sky sports Germany just reported 3rd bid 71m for Keita hopefully enough for them!

Agree11 Disagree1

Clearly Barcelona can't afford Couts only offering half what he is worth.

21 Jul 2017 04:04:35
The difference between 71 and 66 is just 5m, I wonder how 5m can make RBL change their minds unless it's in cold hard cash and not staggered payments.

21 Jul 2017 04:26:24
I thought this was perhaps likely - the astonomical figures we all o a sudden seem to be paying seem too good to be true withou a significant departure or two. I really, really hope Coutinho doesn't leave but wouldn't be surprised if it materialises.

21 Jul 2017 05:51:37
Suarez, straight swap.?

21 Jul 2017 06:04:09
I personally think couts will go,
Barcelona to big a draw for him.

21 Jul 2017 07:07:13
So this is how saints fans feel.

Buying Keita is obviously preparing for life without Coutinho, I don't understand how they would both fit into the same team, now Salah took his position on the left.

I doubt Coutinho will be going anywhere until Kieta has signed a contract with us (if the deal goes through) it would be ludicrous to let him go first.

The midfield area is overstocked, and if you take Firmino out of the equation and class him as a striker, that leaves us with Salah, Mane, Hendo, Can, Lallana, Keita, Grujic, Gini, and then the likes of Chirivella, Ejaria and Ojo, (loan depending) all knocking on the door, I probably have missed a few of the youngsters out.

Don't get we wrong I would love him to stay, rather than buy Keita, but personally I think its certainly on the cards, especially now Iniesta, who I imagine he would replace is coming to the end of his career.

Just my opinion.

21 Jul 2017 07:43:20
If signing keita means losing couthino then walk away couthino is getting better every season and klopp should build the team around him.

21 Jul 2017 07:50:34
Barca have already set the fee for young Brazilian forwards. You can sell one for £195m and then buy another with similar talent for £72m.

21 Jul 2017 08:26:06
It has to be world record transfer. he is obviously way way better than that emoji.

21 Jul 2017 08:39:00
You don't sell your best players if you want to compete in the CL and PL, end of story.

{Ed025's Note - your right mate..

21 Jul 2017 08:46:29
From the look of things:

The plan was to get Kieta and play him in the same system
As Coutinho. Then Coutinho would be allowed to leave,
If he wants to, next summer.

Liverpool WON'T Sell him this summer. Especially with how savage and crazy the market is.

21 Jul 2017 10:10:38
Couts is at least 3x wat Kyle walker cost. Go do the math.

21 Jul 2017 10:11:01
I like the way £5 million is shunned as "nothing"

21 Jul 2017 10:14:32
Doesn't matter how many midfielders we have currently, it's about improving the team for me.

The days of Gerrard, Masch and the maestro Alonso will likely never be seen, but we should try and reach new levels. If Keita comes in, I'd see another go, but not Coutinho.

Be interesting to see how FSG handles this as we are being told a player like Keita is not for sale. So let's see how the Coutinho situation is handled.

21 Jul 2017 11:15:01
Eds - do you know how much LFC would want for Countinho?

{Ed002's Note - I only know what they quoted PSG.}

21 Jul 2017 11:46:30
Barca is power on the wane while Liverpool is resurgent. If Cout goes he could be betting on the wrong horse.

21 Jul 2017 12:01:13
Personally I think kieta and coutinio in the same team is perfect. Look at us ar 4 1 2 1 2 last season we were class. Or 433 gives us six potential positions to play them both. Let's hope kieta isn't a replacement coz I don't think we are going to get him unfortunately. Hope I'm wrong. Coutinio and kieta are interchangeable all over the park. We are team building.
If we sign kieta= coutinio stays
If we lose out on kieta= coutinio stays.
Coutinio is a much much better player than kieta.

21 Jul 2017 12:26:04
If coutinio did leave I would be devastated. If we sign kieta or not.

If we keep coutinio but don't land kieta then I'll shrug my shoulders. Be a little dissapointed. But ultimately remain very optimistic this year.

In the next 5 years Phil will be considered best attacking midfielder in the world if he isn't already. Balon'dor level.

21 Jul 2017 12:55:10
Spot on seano, the 5 year contract renewal was the give away he's off. Classic hedge fund type principles being applied to sport by a group of greedy parasites.

22 Jul 2017 08:16:19
With the Neymar thing dragging and him being who has been in Coutinho's ear, have a feeling this will drag now.
