If VVD wants to move, it's up to him to decide what to do. He's a grown man with a team of very well paid advisors, and I am sure he will do what is best for himself. Obviously we have handled the situation like a gang of imbeciles, but I wouldn't get too teary for VVD or Southampton. Players join clubs and they then leave.

As many have said, if Couts decides it is best for him and his family that he moves to Barca, we will have to accept that too. Top level players decide where they are going to play - contracts mean very little.

Behave yaself.

Neymar was in coutinho ear all summer.

Perez has probably taken mbappe to Disney land.

Lukaku was called numerous times by mourinho directly. Starting in May.

Everyone does it. For good reason. Everyone has money. How do you get that upper hand.

Southampton are just a bunch of babys, a small selling club who think they're bigger and better than they are. He's leaving just get over it.

We got reported. Ah well. Still sign him and then have a great season. Who cares.

Reputation matters.

Liverpool always dealt the right way NOT this way.

Why does reputation matter?

Roma were willing to report us till we paid them what they wanted.

So we get all our targets by tapping up and finish 3rd.

We don't get all our targets the "right way" and finish 6th.

You feel better?

Liverpool could face another tapping up issue if Gerrard returned due to what he said in his book about texting kross. Yet it's ok for neymar to chat to coutinho and apparently go back and speak to Barcelona about him.

A couple of years ago. Liverpool are spending there future income. Now it's there not.

Liverpool are an embarrassment. With regards to tapping up yet everyone else really does do it and there absolutely no problems with it.

Barca are currently tapping up cou. Jose tapped up lukaku. Perez is tapping up mbappe.

It's tapping up when you know about it before a transfer but don't care after it's happened. All klopp done is try and give us a helping hand in sealing vvd knowing very well we might not of been in cl and going against all top 6 clubs. Yes he got caught but oh well. We apologised. Now do it the right way.

End of the day all that matters is being successful and winning the premier league.

So we're nice and kind to everyone. Do nothing bad and continue to not win anything. We get down and dirty like the rest of them, and win it. Keita and vvd could win us the league. I couldn't give a toss how we get them.

Liverpool always dealt the right way lol. they've been reported twice and banned once. And so have other clubs. all Big players are tapped up. The only difference is he is adament in joining one club so a bidding war is out and SFC are pissed. Im sure southampton are just as guilty with other players. Its so naive to think this is just LFC. Its primarily agent led wages are agreed before the bid. VvD. ARS / Keita MUFC sniffing around once ground work put in hence why tapping up if rife. MuFc with SILVA quick business all sorted with player then bid accepted. Sour grapes SFc as if you can keep your best player, for what top 6 finish.

22 Jul 2017 01:12:04
Ed. Can you please confirm.
Sfc reported Lfc.
Lfc dropped interest and apology but
LFC not found wanting by FA.

So if we make a bid again what's the issue. Are we basically waiting for him to issue a tranfers request or SFc to contact Lfc.

Why don't we just bid.

{Ed007's Note - That would be an ecumenical matter......

Liverpool were naive enough to believe they had permission to talk to the player without checking. That naivety may be a sin in pro sport but it is not the malintent some seem to perceive.

VVD was unsettled by the club's handling of Fonté. Liverpool may have further turned his head, but so what?

Liverpool withdrew interest at the time, and in so doing have done the right and honourable thing - whatever may happen in the future I believe the club has acted appropriately having learned of its error.

Let's just leave that episode in the past and if VVD signs, be happy! I'm sure it will mean Soton are happy to take the money for a discontented player - a situation they are as liable for as any other party.

If we get a transfer ban for tapping up players then we won't get any targets whatsoever.
I don't care what other clubs do, I just want my club to have the values and principles that reflect honesty, openness and fair play. How great would it be to win things knowing that we also managed it by conducting ourselves in the appropriate manner?
Besides, surely the tapping up is only increasing the value of the transfers we do? If we hadn't gone near vvd, would we have had him by now for £45-£50 million? Would Salah have been signed for £5m less?

22 Jul 2017 03:50:58
All they had to do was pick up the phone. quite simple really. Don't ya get shivers down ya spine when ya think how those in charge so often gloss over the fine details?
We don't spend likes others can, so we need to be well on top of our game in all other areas.

22 Jul 2017 06:05:10
LFC did the right way wrongly lol.

22 Jul 2017 07:39:24
If we didn't have people at the club who leaked every bit of info coming out of melwood their wouldn't be an issue.
