Afternoon Eds, is sturridge now expected to stay at Liverpool? It seems to have gone very quiet over his expected departure. I certainly hope he stays and gets a good run of games under his belt ðŸ‘.

I reckon this is the season when he's back to his best, if it is god knows this side will take some stopping, the amount of chances we make he could well be top scorer.

My sentiments exactly Ed001! Couldn't agree more Ruthless. On his day he is up there with the best in the league, let's just hope he stays fit because like you say with the chances we create with a fully fit sturridge on the pitch its going to equal lots of goals ðŸ‘.

looked slower than ever in pre season to me. reminds me of torres and owen after their injuries, some players never get that fast twitch muscle back. hope you're right though.

He just needs to stop worrying about using his pace to burst past people and concentrate on what he does best - scoring goals.}

He needs to just stay in and around the box. He drops too deep for me. With Mane and Salah he shouldn't need to do this.

when we do put studge through middle if Mane and co put that ball in the 6 yard box or anywhere near it 9/ 10 a fit studge will put it in the next hope for a big season for him would love for him to get back to his best.

I agree Ed but his x factor was his ability to run beyond defenders and finish calmly. his off the ball movement was/ is brilliant. without that pace I think he has lost that possibility of being world class. He can still create openings but he is less effective in the way we play now that closing down and rapid counter attacks are our bread and butter.

But do we not lose out in his chasing to win the ball back, something that Firminho does fantastically well. Not sure Sturbridge anything close to that level of defending from the front.

But surely it isn't Sturridge or Firminho, it is possible to have both and Firminho's work opening up chances for Sturridge to finish?
