Hi eds have we accepted an offer for Coutinho from Barcelona?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware that anything has been agreed at this moment in time. I am aware that there was a discussion in London.}

Agree2 Disagree1

06 Aug 2017 21:56:51
Word is that we have said yes, it's all rumour, but I would'nt be surprised.

If it is true, I'm appalled as it completely throws all our preparation for our first game into ruins. It's like we learn nothing from previous seasons mistakes.

06 Aug 2017 22:07:26
I seriously hope it's not true! Klopp has personally stamped it himself and said he's going nowhere if Couts does go that puts a massive cloud over FSG and Klopp.

06 Aug 2017 22:08:17
Its looking like he going wouldn't be suprised.

06 Aug 2017 21:27:02
Thanks for the reply.

06 Aug 2017 21:30:47
Ed2 what's the latest regarding Lanzini? Would Liverpool like to do a deal if little Pip goes? Thanks once again.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of Liverpool making any approach to West Ham at this time.}

06 Aug 2017 21:42:20
With you stating that there has been a discussion why does Klopp keep stating Coutinhio is not for sale? Surely Klopp would know this and will only anger the fans if he is now sold?

Baz.

{Ed002's Note - There have been several discussions. The fans can't be angered by Klopp - they have already been taken in and can't see the smiley clown persona slipping just yet.}

06 Aug 2017 22:11:21
Think how klopp feels if true as apparently people above him have all but made the decision.

06 Aug 2017 22:12:12
Sky sports saying he not played last 2 games so he dosnt get injured as talks are ongoing.

06 Aug 2017 22:13:57
Shocking to say the least. so RBL resisted LFC's attempts for Keita while Klopp stated that Coutinho would not be sold as LFC are not a selling club. Not only are LFC a selling club. there's no ambition at all. Selling Coutinho now would send the wrong signal to the squad at the start of a new season.

{Ed002's Note - Players are transients, they come and go. Another or others will arrive and it will all soon be forgotten.}

06 Aug 2017 22:17:18
Could start the season with no Coutinho and a manager resigning.

06 Aug 2017 22:23:14
When are we going to learn? We were apparently going to challenge for the title this year blah blah blah. but as usual we just go ahead and sell our best player and screw our chances again.

Good old FSG. Another year of disappointment and panic buying ahead. I know we are not a one trick pony with Couts, but might as well be.

06 Aug 2017 22:26:56
And IF true £90m is a p***take.

06 Aug 2017 22:27:46
The fact we are even having these discussions ed sais to me we may well sell him mate?

{Ed002's Note - I have spent more than a year explaining that.}

06 Aug 2017 22:29:36
we've got to accept coutinho is on his way out let's just get as much as we can and move on. when coutinho was injured and mane at the end of last year who did we miss more in my opinion it was mane. go and buy a striker or give solanke a chance play mane and salah wide and fiminio behind the striker his preferred role just my opinion. keep up the good work eds.

Selling Coutinho and bringing in Lanzini is underwhelming to say the very least. It's typical us mind you.

06 Aug 2017 22:42:23
is this ajax guy a potential replacement for counts then?

06 Aug 2017 23:00:45
Again, selling top class players and gambling on potential or sub standard players. This is why we haven't won the league for nearly 30 years and never will if we continue like this.

06 Aug 2017 23:12:18
I for one will not be happy if we let Coutinho go. How can we see ourselves as a team wanting to compete with the top teams and Europe's elite if we allow our best players to leave. In the current market £90 million is a tad low. I'd say £120 million to even consider selling.

Baz.

06 Aug 2017 23:14:14
how comes some people's posts are appearing twice on a thread? anywho, I've said it before and will happily say it again. coutinho is free to leave if that is what he wants, and it certainly seems like that is what he wants.

He is getting a pass because he hasn't made a song and dance about it like sterling, suarez and torres. so credit to him. but in the end if the player doesn't want to be here, then he should go. Klopp said that himself when talking about not going after players who only wanted champions league. he wanted players who would come to fight for liverpool. seems like coutinho is giving up the fight and it can't be turned around, so it may be in our best interest to bid farewell.

06 Aug 2017 23:21:56
Reminds me of the time we bought Andy Carroll thinking he was the dogs.

06 Aug 2017 23:25:27
Frankly shankley as much as I agree, if a player is determined to leave Torres, Suarez coutinho.

I don't see a lot of choice unless you force them to stay. I for one would rather have players committed to the club. Old fashioned I guess.

07 Aug 2017 00:12:34
Any insight into a replacement if sold/ . Or has this been updated on the sharkpod Ed's?

{Ed002's Note - You need to read the posts.}

07 Aug 2017 00:17:32
You can say no, like Red Bull Leipzig and Southampton. Now we face losing a top class player and will replace him with absolute mediocrity at stupid prices because clubs will know we're desperate. I can guarantee that the players who come in will not be of sufficient quality. I'm absolutely certain of that.

07 Aug 2017 00:26:37
in other words no. thanks.

07 Aug 2017 01:27:37
now we know what F. S. G stands for. FOREVER. SELLING. GOALSCORERS.

07 Aug 2017 02:01:58
Gutted if he goes but its not unexpected. The question is not If but When. Personally, I would accept that he'll leave when clubs like Barcelona comes knocking but I thought it would be next season and not this season. Anyways, life does go on. until we rise to the top again, big clubs will poach our top players, just like we poach players from Southampton etc. My only problem is, it will be very difficult to rise up when we sell important players as we're trying to build a good team. Its like taking one step forward, and three steps backwards. We can clearly see the impact when we lost Suarez. We still don't have a so called Suarez replacement till today. Hopefully if we do replace Coutinho, that person will fill in seamlessly but I doubt it, I really do.

07 Aug 2017 07:44:34
"Panic buy" implies large amounts of cash being spent.
I don't think That's F$G policy.

07 Aug 2017 09:10:21
Panic buys? Ballotelli, Carroll, Sakho all panic buys.

07 Aug 2017 17:54:24
90 mil, a piss take? Some people live in a dream world. The most expensive player in the premiership ever and it's a piss take? Neymar deal has moved the goal posts and now people expect 140 mil for a 14 goal 7 assist player. Ridiculous. I bet we bring in lanzini for 30 mil and I bet he does really well for us. He's a brilliant little player, no offence but way too good for west ham. He could be just as influential as coutinio. I bet he scores 14 at least and makes more than 7 assists. Ergo no problem. And we'll be 60 mil up. 1000% mark up, good business, let's be fair.

Most worrying is the feeling towards klopp that seems to be seaping into the valley. Of course he smiles for the camera and plays the tourist but you only have to here him talk of football to see the underlying passion and ambition. I don't care either way, all that matters is results on the pitch. So far we have progresses under him and still look to be doing so. Smashing bayern Munich for example. It's obvious to anyone who watches us that we are playing the best football we have for long long time. Before anyone turns on klopp (sho so far has lost no one) think who could possibly replace him?
