Hi eds . Sorry if asked before I just wondered if sterling had actually handed in an official transfer request. I know he wants to go and almost certainly will but after hearing money has nothing to do with the move thought he would be ok with giving away his 5 % ??? Of the transfer.

{Ed001's Note - it is to do with wanting to play in the Champions League on a regular basis and win league trophies, rather than ending up like Gerrard, missing out on it by sticking with us. It is to do with not trusting Rodgers to play him regularly in the position that is felt to be his best. It is also to do with being annoyed with the comments made publicly about his contract turning people against him. Also it is his agent stirring the pot and making it impossible for him to stay without sacking him. It is never just one thing, I am sure he would also welcome a pay rise, but it is not all about money.}

Hi eds . Is there anything in the nzonzi rumours today,This is a player I rate highly and I think exactly what we need in midfield huge engine ,really strong ,box to box with a few goals in him also passes well and at a reasonable price one would assume. Not a big name but could be a big player for us for the next few years.

I agree blueshank I have watched znonzi for a few years and he has great pace and can find the net. I still feel he is very inconsistent to be put straight into the first team

Nzonzi is another player who looks great on highlight reals, I always watch him and he looks super
I have no.idea what he's like over 90 minutes, maybe the eds could shed some light on this.
In place of kovacic I dint know.

Kovacic is on a different planet as compared to nzonzi who IMO is nothing but an average midfielder. Better than allen but nowhere neae Henderson ramsey Carrick etc

I'm with ReetRed on this. Definitely not good enough for us. He's filthy as well, it's one thing looking to add bite to the midfield but he's full of headless dirty fouls.

Kovacic will either come or he won't I was referring to a replacement for Lucas actually a cheap premier league player who can step up playing for a better side . I like the way he can bully the opposition just like he did to us . Imo he is better than all our current def mids

I know quite a few SCFC season tick holders, they rave about Nzoni and say he is by far their best player. He'd be ideal for us.

To be honest though, why would he come to us? It wouldn't surprise me if Stoke finish above us next season. If it wasn't for the Utd connection with Hughes, I'd take him as manager in a heart beat.

Quicker than Lucas , stronger , not injured every week like Lucas more goals than Lucas and I'know who would win the duel when head to head so yeah better than Lucas . Nzonzi deserves a chance to prove he can step up . I'm being realistic if Brendan does not rate him why not have a guy who he may play and for Lucas sale money he could be acquired

Back the biggest problem with our club is not his ego its fans like you who live in the past and think 2nd is no achievement in the hardest league in the world. Only 1 team can win that does not mean all else fail. Now there are 4 teams bigger/ richer / more pull than us makes it hard to attract the players we desire. Willian Salah Costa all of which went to Chelsea instead of us shows where we are in the pecking order. I think 2nd this year will do most of us nicely and we won't consider it or the guys failures .

Uncoachable are individual errors of which there were plenty. He got us to second mate with brilliant football we were everyone's second team and we went so close to winning the league something thought near impossible at the start of that year. Our squad is so young and many will improve dramatically from last year. Ego is a guy calling himself the special one. He is a young manager who has and will make mistakes but equally to blame are the players for some truly horrific displays. We need rid of some disruptive players and bring in ibe who I think could well light up the premier league. already he is better than sterling and with ings firmino fingers crossed a fit studge and benteke we can go close again.

Time to back Brendan and stop with all the negative comments. We have done really well in the window so far and I'm sure we are not finished yet. The coaching appointments show we are trying hard to get back where we belong. Lots of new young talent being brought in and with the stadium upgrade well on the way I for one am excited for the future. I think we will shock a fair few people with our success this season.
