The telegraph are reporting that a side from Kosovo, who aren't part of FIFA, are making an offer of £25000 and £1200 a month for Suarez to play for them during the ban. I really want it to happen. That or a cleaners assistant role at Anfield until his ban finishes. I have to say I give slight preference to Kosovo. What do you guys think.

So just saw the United result. Does anybody actually want 4th place?

Yes, but part of me fears it would save BR's job.

2.) 03 May 2015 04:17:27
i really doubt it would save BR's job.

3.) 03 May 2015 04:18:14
Good one, Lambert. As much as I want 4th, I'm afraid he might keep his job and then we will have to deal with his BS on and of the field. I'm torn, tbh.

4.) 03 May 2015 04:54:27
He will likely get the sack regardless anyway now.

5.) 03 May 2015 06:34:53
4th will not save his job, have you seen what both Ed002 and Ed002 have been saying? They're not often wrong and they keep saying that BR has broken promises to the owners, wasted horrendous amounts of money and made all the business public in press conferences.

I don't think the signings we've made under BR have been that bad, just the enormous out-lay a few aside they've all been fairly reasonable. Lallana, Markovic, Sakho, Lovren, Moreno and a few others(forgive me it's 6:30am) have all shown glimpses of being "good enough". Some have been mismanaged, some have been unlucky with injuries and some have taken longer to settle. There is no denying that they have ability, as they showed it at their previous clubs.

I think it's best we part with Rodgers personally. He gave us one hell of a ride last season, but I think this season he's been found out as some people say.

6.) 03 May 2015 09:31:56
Top 4 will not happened and even if some miracle happenes and we finish top4 it will not affect BR's future becase he is staying anyway. hsf, ED002 said here few days ago he doesn't know if BR is going, but think he should.

Everyday BR stays in the job make it more certain he will stay. If they don't want him, what is the point of waiting?

{Ed002's Note - I think he should as well - whether or not that happens remains in the balance. It is critical to think what is best for the club - and that is what the owners, and critically Michael Gordon and his advisors, will be doing.}

7.) 03 May 2015 10:29:53
There is little point in changing now, we have 3 games left and the remit will be to get as many points as possible. Come the end of the seasons I'm sure the discussions will be had ( and m hoping they are sounding people out on the meantime)

8.) 03 May 2015 13:36:07
Hearing him talk over the last couple weeks, he seems confident he'll still be here next season. Seems like he's getting his way anyway with the moves for Ings and Milner. Another season of mediocrity beckons.

9.) 03 May 2015 19:21:12
Not really, Amit. He is pandering and posturing in the media because he knows the chop may be coming hence, he is mouthing off in the media in a bid to keep a poor excuse of credibility he thinks he has in order to look good when he gets the chop like the self serving politician he is.

10.) 03 May 2015 19:30:28
Yep, Michael Gordon is the Man, he is an investor, and a financial adviser, and I quote. "He runs Liverpool, " one industry source said. "He's the point person [among FSG owners] for the people in Liverpool. If it wasn't for him, it wouldn't function."

Alright folks haven't posted in a while, perhaps a question for Ed001 but when we were back looking for a manager in 2004 after Houllier was sacked, was Jose Mourinho ever a likely possibility?

Calmdown

{Ed002's Note - Ed001 is not available.

The details are not for sharing but by the time the fans drove Houllier out of Liverpool Chelsea had already reached an agreement with Mourinho - so he would never have been a viable option. After agreement was reached Mourinho gave a statement saying he was interested in several jobs, including Liverpool, but he would never join Chelsea as he didn't trust the owner not to run off and leave the club high and dry one day. Generally it is best to ignore what he says.

He also used the trick of having other club phone covers he would show the fans near the dug outs when playing away. I recall him dropping his phone with both Liverpool and Arsenal covers on in the past.

And the laundry basket is true - with Nuno Morais pushing it.}

Cheers Ed, that's interesting, I remember hearing it from someone and had never thought to ask if it were true.

{Ed002's Note - He can be a fun guy.}

I'm taking the Madrid match as a mixed bag. For starters I'm going to address the team selection.

Anybody who didn't think we needed to change men after watching the previous encounter with Madrid or even the Newcastle game, or our performances for most of the season, needs their head checked. For all the players left out the only player I was disappointed to see benched was Coutinho.

Bearing in mind we were playing a team that had averaged about 4 a game at home this season I can't remember the last time we defended so well. In reality we only concede a few chances to a side that had about 60% possession. Normally, if we are getting outplayed we concede goals fairly readily but Lucas and Toure just brought a defensive stability to our outfit that we really miss with Gerrard in the holding role.

Obviously the negative was that we were well and truly battered. We were outplayed and never even looked like equalising. It seemed we were content at losing 1-0. Our build up play was so slow, nobody really looked capable of moving the ball on in less than 3 touches. Borini looked isolated for most of the match and when we looked like we had opportunities to counter Madrid we seemed to play with a lack of ambition and they were quickly sussed out. I think we only mounted about 3 shots on goal and created almost nothing in terms of scoring chances. I don't rate that Madrid defence and thought we were crying out for 2 up front with 15 or so minutes remaining.

Who would want, Borini, Toure and Lucas in to start against Chelsea?

Getting away from Suarez can anybody remember a time when a player had a great World Cup, was signed by a high profile team and maintained that form? Or even maintained that form for the club if he stayed?

{Ed030's Note - Ozil and Khediera in 2010. }

I disagree. The availability of online betting will attract more people towards it so I don't necessarily think that it is solely at the feet of the person, the company will also have some level of blame. Its like saying heroin addiction has nothing to do with drug dealers. Although there are lots of other factors in play I think it's safe to say that there is a positive correlation between the two. Not that I oppose a betting company sponsoring Liverpool. It's exactly like what you said regarding Carlsberg.

Although I agree the Can is quite overrated by a fair few on this site it is not always about the ability of a player but how they complement the starting 11. What you offer another side really doesn't always have much bearing on what can you offer Liverpool. As well not starting for Germany really isn't a stick to beat someone with.

I thought Carlsberg looked good on the kit. Maybe even something like CocaCola. (I'm just going for aesthetic value, ignoring the ethics and politics surrounding these companies) . I agree with you ed. Something like Guinness, Harp or even Ryanair would look decent on a Celtic top.

Yeah, it really does go to show how "settling for the point" can be more detrimental than going for the victory and ultimately losing the match.

If I had to choose I'd rather lose a final to a semi's. Anytime I've played on teams beaten in the semi's it felt a lot worse than losing a final. Then from a supporters point of view it gives you an extra match to get excited about and for some a day trip to Wembley. Regarding drawing Stoke in the semi's I would've prefered to get City or Everton, purely because we would get to play them twice, I much prefer watching us against them. Then again it does give an excellent final if we do beat Stoke over 2 legs.
