To start I don't buy into all of this spurs are steeling our targets nonsense but do you think spurs might come in for sako as they are looking for a left back and could probably do with another center back hope we can get a deal sorted as would be gutted if we miss out on him.

The list could be endless. Every time I turn the tv or radio on there are so called experts telling the world how to manage clubs and where managers and players are going wrong. Actually thinking about it there's millions of so called experts on social media as well. The interview process could be a long one 😂.

I would suggest bringing back Steve Clarke, if it's feasible. He did a good job under KD with our defense (even Skrtel looked a world beater under him), and that's an area that still needs to improve. Seems to be a quiet unassuming man. Has had his shot at being a manager; didn't work out. So he knows his limits now and would probably accept being a #2 for the long run, and not run off somewhere in the middle of the season.

I have no idea where he is or what he is doing (workwise) now, Ed001. I just remember that when he was with LFC, under KD, we had a solid defense (with average defenders like Skrtel and Sakho - Carragher aside) ) and our main concern that year was constantly hitting the woodwork and balls not going into the nets. Thought it might be an option worth considering.

{Ed001's Note - yes, of course, but I am hoping that the coaching staff also sees it and will be working on rectifying it. Certainly there seemed a lot more fluidity going forward against Arsenal.
Oh and please don't encourage him to tell jokes, he spends ages cracking jokes on skype while we are running tests or preparing, he can't tell a joke to save his life. Hence him doing that as a dare.}

Ed, I haven't managed to listen to the podcast yet so sorry if this is mentioned, but do you think the improved fluidity going forward was a result of a better balanced team in the middle of the park? 2uth lucas being in the team this give can and milner a licence to go forward and imo having Hendo and milner in the same team means you can't get the best out of both of them. Interested to get your thoughts on this

Ed002 I have been reading some of your posts about some English clubs being sold around 2017 and you said "The worst case scenario would be institutional ownership" I was wondering why is that
{Ed002's Note - 2017 will see a significant boost in value of Premier League clubs as the first of the new TV monies come through. Some owners will look to sell at this time to reap rewards from their investments. Several clubs will be valued at a level where it will be difficult to find individual buyers so you will see more investment groups (such as FSG) becoming involved. In some case institutional owners (e.g. Far Easter insurance companies, Chinese new money banks etc.) will be looking to investing in the sport in England because the potential returns are high. Whilst FSG keep throwing good money after bad at Liverpool there will come a time that if significant success on field is not happening then they will look to move on. If they were to sell, say, to a Chinese bank then the new owners interest will be in obtaining a return for their investors - and they will look to that return without necessarily continuing to invest in the club.}
