Evening Ed, I believe Danijel Subasic may be of interest to at least one premier league club are you aware of this and do you see Liverpool being interested?

{Ed002's Note - Monaco snubbed interest in Danijel Subasic from Arsenal last summer. I am not aware of any interest in him at this time, nor any intention of him leaving Monaco.}

1.) 05 Apr 2016 05:55:27
Cheers Ed, I see more interest should he have a good tournament in the summer.

{Ed002's Note - Sure.}

30 Dec 2015 10:51:07
Morning Ed do you think Liverpool have any interest in Ricardo Rodriguez?
Would seem very much a Klopp type of full back to me and I believe we've already looked previously.

{Ed002's Note - No Chris and I sujspect he would be well beyond the means of Liverpool in January in any case. Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez previously attracted the attention of Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter, Fiorentina and Real Madrid. Real Madrid, fearful of a ban, may see Rodriguez as an alternative to Gaya and may look to move in January. Valencia are also interested.

Liverpool are looking elsewhere for a left back still and with Moreno, Smith, Enrique & Gomez (to return) it may well be something that will wait until the summer.}

1.) 30 Dec 2015 11:31:23
Yes I agree we aren't desperate in that position but he is top drawer so I suppose the cost would reflect that. Am I right in thinking we looked previously and could we have signed him or was it all paper talk.

09 Aug 2015 16:05:10
Afternoon Ed can I ask is there any truth in the Enrique to west brom rumours?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I moved apartment the other day, and yesterday was my first day back online, so I have a huge backlog of emails etc to go through to catch up on what is happening. Last I heard there was no interest from anyone, but that was a while ago now and could easily have changed.}

15 Jul 2015 20:48:07
Not Liverpool related and I hope you don't mind the question Eds but do you have any idea on the future of Breel-Donald Embolo?

{Ed002's Note - Basel's Breel Embolo is a target of Spurs, Red Bull Leipzig and West Ham with Basel aware of interest from all three clubs.}

1.) 15 Jul 2015 22:26:59
Cheers Ed

2.) 16 Jul 2015 00:31:34
I'm not sure why you even post questions like this on here Ed.
Do you just pretend to imagine that it was phrased in a Liverpool relevant way? Or do you actually enjoy the challenge of a new and complicated-sounding name? I could give you one or two if you like, but, if I'm honest, they'd probably be relevant, sorry. :(

So, what's Allan Rodriguez de Souza up to this summer?

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but Chris has been a very good, consistent and decent contributor who asked a question I happened to know the answer to.

I am sure you will find other editors to abuse elsewhere.}

3.) 16 Jul 2015 17:17:07
Chris in Tamworth was here before both the chicken and the egg ;)

13 Feb 2015 15:15:27
Afternoon Ed(s) with all the talk about defensive options for next season and in particular the thought that Ilori is an option (I would certainly have him back in) what are your thoughts on his future?
Will Liverpool bring him back and give him opportunities or do you think BR is not keen? Just value your opinion cheers

{Ed002's Note - The club need to talk with him and outline their plans for next season. Liverpool has taken two years out of his career so far and he should be assured that there is some future. It could, in my view, go either way.

He has no great value so it would, in a way given the financial predicament and the FFP issues, be best to keep him.}

1.) 13 Feb 2015 20:53:13
Should replace Toure in squad for next year, get some experience in the cup games and a few league games, then be the long term replacement for Skrtel the year after.

Has got it all this kid, just needs the opportunity to show it.

2.) 13 Feb 2015 21:07:40
Totally agree Elderslie well said👍

3.) 14 Feb 2015 08:48:23
Haven't seen him play this Is he performing so far?

{Ed002's Note - He has been out injured. I also very much doubt he will want a third season disrupted by Liverpool.}

27 Aug 2017 17:55:59
Just want to say, how good has Gini been so far this season.

1.) 27 Aug 2017 18:01:15
Big Al might have to say something about that :d.

2.) 27 Aug 2017 18:01:47
He's looking very confident atm. Could see it in that moment when he turned on the ball three times to sit Ramsey on his arse.

3.) 27 Aug 2017 18:02:51
This season or today? We've played 3 premier league games and he was excellent today. Can't say the same about the previous games. Our entire midfield was excellent today. Arsenal's were pathetic. Definitely not a contender atall. No leaders and no improvement on last season.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 18:09:43
Arsenal will finish behind Everton.

5.) 27 Aug 2017 18:56:42
Agree totally Big Al, Gini was much better today but was a passenger against Palace and not much better v Watford. His position is under threat for me, especially if PipCo stays.

11 Aug 2017 13:20:54
If he wants to go let him go, I'll wish him luck, get the best price and move on.

1.) 11 Aug 2017 13:27:41
Same as the song?

Stuck in my head now!

2.) 11 Aug 2017 13:35:48
Every player has a price. They should have anyway and also it doesn't matter who is playing for our club just support the ones that are.

23 Jun 2017 14:26:00
Ed, if you don't mind, whilst I'd love to see us sign Mendy for left back I'm sure we probably won't be favourites so I'm wondering how good and how highly (if at all) do you rate Tierny?
And is he an option for us?

{Ed007's Note - Tierney's one of the best young LBs in Europe, solid at the back and loves a tackle, he's got a lot of speed so he's fast at getting up the park although his choice of a final ball can be a bit erratic at times but that'll get better with experience. He's not an option for anyone mate, he's not interested in leaving Celtic.}

1.) 23 Jun 2017 15:49:40
Thanks Ed007, now is there any chance of getting an opinion from someone slightly less blinkered? Perhaps someone who recognises that the Scottish premier league (or as I like to call it, the conference North, North) is not a great place to judge a player?
No offence Ed.

{Ed001's Note - Tierney would be my choice as he is excellent, from what I have seen. Ed007 is, for once, right.}

2.) 23 Jun 2017 15:49:07
I remember the time Celtic fans thought Izaguirre was one of the best left backs in Europe 😉.

{Ed007's Note - Everyone knows that he was before his terrible ankle injury.}

3.) 23 Jun 2017 16:30:37
Apparently he's very well grounded. One of the first to training wears black boots no tattoos or fancy hair do. Just a normal working class lad.

4.) 23 Jun 2017 17:45:10
Cant we tap him up before pregnency season starts?

5.) 23 Jun 2017 17:14:26
Cheers Ed001, and Ed007 only kidding.

{Ed007's Note - Good job - I was just about to send the troops to smash your windows and $hit on your lawn!}

6.) 23 Jun 2017 17:41:44
Scott Brown for Ballon D'or ay Ed07.? ;)

{Ed007's Note - Scott Brown for the next James Bond!}

05 Jun 2017 09:16:51
Question for Ed002 if possible. Not Liverpool related but I still hear a lot of talk about Lukaku possibly returning to Chelsea, am I right in saying that there was an "issue" with the player and the club which contributed to his departure, is this still a problem for the club or is it something they can look past?

{Ed002's Note - You are on the wrong page Chris, but yes it is an issue for a couple of people and efforts are continuing to be made to resolve it.}

01 Jun 2017 16:07:56
Question for any of the Ed's, do you think Klopp will line up with a defensive midfielder next season and if so who will he use there. Is that a position he will look to strengthen or will he make do with what's already at the club. I only ask because we don't have a natural DM.

{Ed025's Note - i would try emre can there myself chris..

1.) 01 Jun 2017 16:28:32
Klopp does not like to play with a natural DM, so why would be want one? The best option right now would be to keep Lucas as a squad player to fill the DM role from time to time against certain opposition.

{Ed025's Note - you have to be kidding me buzzer, lucas was not that good at his peak never mind now hes over the hill, just my view of course..

2.) 01 Jun 2017 16:29:22
I agree - Hendo and Can should be our choices deeper, Gini, Llalana, Grujic and Coutinho further forward.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 16:23:26
Maybe Ed, thanks, I'd like to hear Ed001s thoughts on this too.

{Ed001's Note - I expect Klopp to stick with the current formula of no dm and a deep lying playnaker. We do not really have anyone to play an out and out defensive midfielder role.}

4.) 01 Jun 2017 16:47:18
for once i find myself agreeing with ed25 here, emre can should be that player or developed into that player by the coaching staff. im concerned with hendos injury from what i've read about the type of injury it can not be totally healed but it can be managed which in my books means he is liable to turn into another sturridge spending loads of time on the treatment bench, but the main reason for can being my choice is that can seems the only leader (which seems to be developing more and more) in the midfield and we sorely need leaders in our team we are missing natural leaders. On a side note eds any word on his new contract should it be signed soon.

{Ed025's Note - klopp seems very confident he will sign a long term contract bruffio, but its not happened yet mate..

5.) 01 Jun 2017 17:59:29
Can is definitely the wrong choice there, for no other reason than because he is our only midfielder with the physical power to force his way through defences and has an absolute beast of a shot when he's in the right move. He needs to be able to push further forward when we are under pressure, not be stuck hunkering down in front of our CB's. He might be able to act as a deeper midfielder, but when you look at his best games in red you can see how much of a waste it is.

6.) 01 Jun 2017 19:13:12
I would keep Lucas all day long.

Nothing bitter or patronising ed 25, but his derby display proved how important he can be, and with a potentially busy season, and with him being the most experienced at the club, then Lucas must stay.

No brainer if we can give him good game time.

{Ed025's Note - once a season is not really good enough though davey, there is no room for sentiment if you want to win things mate..

The problem is it's an issue with morals and integrity which the game struggles with at the best of times, add to that we're talking about John Terry who has neither and it's no surprise.
