I am still keen on Benzema, Lemar, and VVD. Maybe we can do a Keita type deal with Coutinho to Barcelona next year for 160M € agreed to now. That puts money in the bank for next years Mbappe.

This is why I love the final days of Transfer window! Benzema lol! Mate I wouldn't drop FIRMINO for anyone atm!

2.) 30 Aug 2017 07:14:55
Benzema should sign for Brazzers.

3.) 30 Aug 2017 07:35:29
Why would Barcelona do that when they have the money now and are able to spend it. With our luck we would end up with the next balotelli.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 07:49:59
Benzema is trouble and we don't need him.

Lemar, Benzema, VVD and keep Coutinho until next summer and that would be absolutely fantastic. Who knows maybe if we win silverware this season Coutinho will stay and we can transistion from a selling club to a destination club. Exciting to say the least.

Hasn't both the lemar bids been rejected?

2.) 28 Aug 2017 23:24:10
Don't be so negative there is always money in the banana stand.

3.) 28 Aug 2017 23:29:55
Thats just the way love goes.

We've somehow managed to get a deal for Keita, there are rumours that somehow a deal has been struck for van Dijk (though it's rumour and conjecture at this point), so I wouldn't rule anything out. Anything could happen. I'd be interested to hear Macca's views as he nailed the Keita deal.

5.) 29 Aug 2017 01:24:35
Graeme Kelly on Twitter confident that the VVD deal will be struck pretty soon. I imagine we have dangled 75-80 million pounds in front of Saints to get that deal done. 3rd bid for Lemar will probably cost 65-70 million euros plus Origi I imagine so Coutinho is probably off after we also paid Leipzig for Keita.

Klopp is my favorite football coach. Hands down I like the guys tactics, training, the exciting football that he plays and the attitude he displays on and off the field. That being said I must very much question him saying that he is happy with his current squad even with no new signings. When coaching professional footballers they should have the proper skills when you arrive you should just need to sharpen and implement your system which should take 3 - 4 months. It could take a year to a year and a half to get grips on your Academy players. Both of which Klopp has had the time to get his hands around. While I believe the academy players maybe able to be adequate substitutes for the senior team I don't think there will be any improvement in quality from the U23's or Academy players.

That means the best we have are in the senior squad and they have shown themselves to be capable bit don't quite have the competency to win anything big much less compete on multiple fronts with possible layoffs and injuries. We need to bring in quality players that can go into the starting 11. If we do not it will be very, very difficult to win any trophies this year. Kloop was well known at Dortmund for finding awesome players on the cheap and he may can do that here he is a good judge of talent. But I must say the current senior team does not have a prolific goal scorer or the depth to take the team to the next level.

Come on CM, what do you expect Klopp to do? Say "Our squad is a load of xxx" credit him with some man management skills. He wants the squad to go into the season feeling valued and with the manager's confidence. No one does their best if they think it's all a waste of time. When you hear a manager praise his squad after they've just been stuffed (Alladyce was my favourite bullshxtter) it's all part of management skill.

2.) 21 Aug 2017 15:40:50
Sorry CM if that came across as criticism, you make a very good argument, I was trying to rationalize his statements.

3.) 21 Aug 2017 15:58:17
Klopp knows he needs players which is why he's been going after players but he will never say his current players aren't good enough. Why would he say that there's just nothing to gain from it and everything to lose? You start criticising players in public and before you know it you've got a few in the dressing room getting all sensitive and criticising you and that then spreads like a cancer. Keep everyone on side (like Lovren always does) by praising them up.

I don't mind Coutinho wanting to move he has a paid playing career of at most 15 years and he wants to make as much money as possible. I don't really car that he is acting butt hurt about the deal and acting prissy. He wants more money and the Latin prestige of playing for Barcelona, in I get it whatever. I also know he happily signed that big money contract in January with no buy out clause (poss poor advice from his agent) . He is under contract and when he realizes he won't play unless he gets over his attitude I am sure he will have some kumbaya moment with Kloop and everyone will be best buds until next summer. Sir Alex handled Ronaldo's universe sized ego for a year until he let him leave for Real I am sure Kloop can do the same.

That being said I am still feeling prissy myself about VVD and Lemar with Lemar being the clubs new Ferrari. Pfbst.

I would prefer Lemar for short and long term but you are correct Sanchez would undoubtably have the best year of his career if he came. He would not fit into the wage structure though. Maybe a sign on bonus?

I believe that Klopp is the best manager around with the possible exception of Joachim Löw. I think that Klopp had a bit of an issue with how to break down stubborn English defense's where 11 men play behind the ball but I believe he has adjusted. If the fault is not with the manger or the system that means that the players are not up to it. They lack that critical edge that transforms you from a contender to a Champion. If no more players are signed and we lose Coutinho I would say that we get top 4 only because Arsenal is self destructing and we may get to the quarter finals of the Champions league barring serious injuries.

With VVD, Lemar, and keep Coutinho for a year assuming he can get over being paid £150K a week to kick a football around in North west england rather than Spain. I believe we can get 2nd place in the league with a possible push to Champions and into the semifinals of the Champions League. I have said Benzema would be a great addition but Mueller would be a good option just a top quality striker would be great but with so little time left if we haven't been working it I don't think it happens.

Statistically maybe by win percentage but the reds play some of the best soccer around. Once the necessary players are secured the results will happen and the silverware will be won. It is my humble opinion that Kloop is the best manager in football that is active. I really have complete confidence in his ability. If he is given the weapons the results will happen.

Cmoney

{Ed001's Note - it also must be remembered that Klopp took over a club destroyed by Rodgers, with a team that was shattered and had no confidence at all in themselves. Rodgers took over a team that was still high in confidence and feeling they were going place. That is a major difference that is always forgotten. Win percentages are meaningless bollox, just another pointless stat without context.}
