Fabuck it.

Liverpool fans hate him, Chelsea have other ideas, Liverpool need experience in Europe, Liverpool will have to sign big in anticipation of Champions league football, Ed 1 dislikes him, I still rate him (as does carra, but who cares? ) .

Sign Terry.

Keep Lucas.

We need them otherwise it's an embarrassment.

DaveyBootle

{Ed001's Note - an embarrassment is people wanting to sign a slow centre back whose legs have gone! People live so far in the past they fail to see how ridiculous their suggestions are. He is only good for Chelsea because of how he plays for them, put him in any other team and he will be half the player.}

1.) 22 Apr 2017 05:11:40
Agree - we play a very different game and our CBs are put under a lot more pressure and one-on-one situations, often against pace. Klavan has shown how exposed a CB without pace is in our system, why anyone would think a slow, aging CB who doesn't exactly have a pillar of the community character should play for us is beyond me.

Lucas I can get, he's shown that he can still bring experience and a cool head to the side, and he is Liverpool through and through, yet even for him we need to set up to account for his pace as he would be badly exposed if trying to play a Hendo type role. At least it seems Klopp seems to be catering for that based on the last few games IMO, Lucas has rarely been exposed one-on-one and has been extremely solid as a result.

2.) 22 Apr 2017 05:53:51
Sign Terry? Are you joking or being serious Davey becuase seriously he is very old, long past his best and could not hack playing in our team what=so-ever. On top of that he is a less than savoury character off the field. I mean he brings literally nothing good to the table - astonishingly awful suggestion.

3.) 22 Apr 2017 08:39:20
That's why we have Klavan.

4.) 22 Apr 2017 08:53:12
36 years old and would want a very healthy retirement package. This would be one of the worst, if not the worst transfer deal Liverpool ever make.

The guy is so far past his best and Mignolet will look even worse with Terry playing ahead of him at CB.

Luckily we have no interest in Terry :-)

5.) 22 Apr 2017 09:03:16
Pretty sure Maldini is without a club too. Sign him up. He can cover both LB and CB 👍🏻😂.

6.) 22 Apr 2017 09:07:49
im not sure i could support a team with Terry init! even Liverpool!

7.) 22 Apr 2017 09:30:30
Liverpool Fc should allow Lucas Leiva to be in control of his immediate future.
If he wants to stay, we should extend his contract for a reasonable length. If he wants to leave for more playing time or other non-football reasons the club should wish him well and allow him to leave with our blessing.

As for Terry, his experience and knowledge of the game domestically and in Europe is invaluable.
On the other hand, he is old and slow to play regularly in the premier league, he is a divisive character who can upset the dressing room and can undermine the manager. He would also command very high wages.
I do see Davey's point but we need to bear in mind that squad numbers are limited and the risks outweigh the potential benefits in my opinion.
If our scouts can not do better than John Terry then we need better scouts.

8.) 22 Apr 2017 09:55:27
I would rather stick with Klavan than have Terry sitting on our bench. The thought of some having Terry in our squad is completely and utterly bizarre.

How on earth will he improve our defensive performances on the pitch?

Laughable to say the least.

9.) 22 Apr 2017 09:01:18
We have Klavan.

10.) 22 Apr 2017 11:52:03
Even if we make a friendly call to Terry, he would show up next day in full liverpool kit and try to photoshop himself in all the photos when the trophies are being won and collected. :-p #stayawayfromterry.

I don't think Can was good enough last week, but today he looks like the best player I have ever seen in my entire life.

Also, my feelings about changing our keeper have suddenly changed seen as though he's playing for his future with only a number of games to go.

If they both keep it up like this, then it may be a good number of games before I criticise them again.

Sincerely,

The Liverpool Rumours banter page posters.

{Ed025's Note - best player you have seen in your life davey??????...have you been locked in a cellar since you were born mate?, he was decidedly average today in a poor game, god give me stength..

1.) 16 Apr 2017 18:48:42
Slightly over the top analysis of Can there! He did play well today tho so fair play to him. Hope he keeps this level of performance up for the run in.

2.) 16 Apr 2017 18:50:36
I have close read your post Davey and see what you are saying! Never judge a post by the first sentence people! 😂😂.

3.) 16 Apr 2017 18:59:06
He is highlighting how fickle most fans Are.

4.) 16 Apr 2017 19:13:30
Can was not average can was superb today. Twice the player barkley is.

5.) 16 Apr 2017 19:04:32
He wasn't average Ed. He wasn't exceptional either but it wasn't a game to be that way. He was very solid and a key player for us today.

{Ed025's Note - he did his job to an expected level then XF if we are splitting hairs, but "the best player i have seen in my entire life" shout...come on mate ffs..

6.) 16 Apr 2017 19:18:48
Come on Ed, even I eventually got the gist of that post!

{Ed025's Note - your right kate...i think i need a few days off mate.. :)

7.) 16 Apr 2017 20:00:34
I'm embarrassed for myself for reacting before reading the full post! Lesson learnt! 😎.

{Ed025's Note - its a wonder we never bumped heads when davey caught us both on that one hook kate.. :)

8.) 16 Apr 2017 20:04:52
I didn't agree with his post but disagreed with your average comment. Maybe take a week or two bud. 😊.

{Ed025's Note - it cant be that long XF as you would have no one to give you a balanced view and keep you dreamers in the real world mate.. :)

9.) 16 Apr 2017 22:14:32
Davey got you ed. But you get plenty of other poster hooked on your little jabs too.! :)

10.) 16 Apr 2017 22:46:25
Being a fan for 30 years, believe me, I am living in the real world.

11.) 16 Apr 2017 22:14:34
We can't be the dreamers Ed, your lot are signing Isco and winning the league in 3 years over on your page 😂.

{Ed025's Note - isco wont get in our side next season den but he may make the bench, and 3 years is a bit unrealistic..we win it next season for sure, its written in the stars i tell ya.. :)

21 Feb 2017 19:52:20
Ed 2, what do you think of Liverpools proposal to amalgamate the training centres?

Business sense or convenience?

Daveybootle

{Ed002's Note - It is something that Klopp sees a benefit in but I am no means convinced he will still be the manager by the time it is ready for the first team. Before Klopp joined Liverpool he visited the Spurs complex in Enfield - and it is indeed very impressive (probably the second best in England) and it houses all the players from youth to first team. I am not sure that in itself would be of great benefit.}

1.) 21 Feb 2017 20:30:58
Hi Ed002
Shouldn't it be ready for the 2019/ 20 season or am I wrong?

Why and where do you expect Klopp to go?

{Ed002's Note - If planning goes through without problems it is expected to be ready for the 19/20 season.}

2.) 21 Feb 2017 20:45:40
Five years is longer than the life expectancy of a manager in modern football. If Klopp makes five, he's done well but I doubt he'll make the ten required to realistically see benefits coming from it.

3.) 21 Feb 2017 21:28:57
Well he did spend 7 years at Mainz and 7 years at Dortmund. His contract runs out in 2022. Let's hope that he will be succesful and stay until 2022 :)

4.) 21 Feb 2017 22:27:36
My son played at a tournament in Enfield over half term. Very impressive set up.

5.) 21 Feb 2017 23:02:52
So, Ed, where do you think he'll be?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death - for now he is Liverpool manager.}

6.) 22 Feb 2017 10:26:25
I said a year ago we would be combining the two. it makes sense everybody under the same roof helps to watch all squads from the first team to the under 12s I guess.

05 Feb 2017 14:36:34
The sooner people on here, including the manager, understand that teams have well and truly sussed us out, then the sooner Liverpool Football CLub will start winning games again.

This is NOT the players fault, as our manager categorically stated at the start of the season that this was his team now - not Brendans - and that he was happy with what players were at his disposal, so the blame lies with him.

We're still lucky to have our manager at our club, but he needs to sway with the times and change things a little to keep opposition teams on their toes.

It'll all come good again.

Daveybootle

1.) 05 Feb 2017 18:59:08
And what makes you and others think he won't? Can't believe the way your all talking about a world class manager, he is the victim of his own success this season, if we'd have had an indifferent start and were gradually improving and are were man utd are right now you would all be happy as pigs in you know what, but because he had you dreaming of the league is why your all now throwing your toys out the pram.

I knew we could never sustain what we did in the opening four months because we have a right footed midfielder at left back, an OK right back one good centre back two others who are an accident waiting to happen one dismally awful keeper and a young lad who's still learning his trade, so this is why I'm a bit more relaxed than most. One thing I'm certain of is klopp will sort it out and the long term future is bright. So can you all relax and stop moaning, we'll be back on track soon.

2.) 05 Feb 2017 21:10:17
Funny that Waro, just 4 weeks ago you were on the United page spewing how "Jose has been found out", "teams above united won't collapse", "Jose record worse that mvg when in fact it's klopps that's worse than lvg after same amount of games", "offering Jose a new contract was laughable after a few wins", yet you tied klopp down to a 6 year deal for what? Funny how you've changed your tune now and "knew you wouldn't sustain your form". BRILLIANT.

3.) 05 Feb 2017 22:10:52
I didn't know we wouldn't sustain our form, I saw Leicester confound the cynics last season and I hoped we could do the same. To be honest, I don't see why we couldn't and if Chelsea implode then I see us as the best ones to win it - STILL.
Waro has made a good point about where we are in February, this has been a good season so far.
We need a few tweaks and we'll be back scoring for fun 😎.

4.) 05 Feb 2017 22:47:03
Great post, Waro. It was that approach and unnecessary pressure that led to Karius, a young and talented GK, to be scapegoated by many of his own fans overreacting to him making a couple of mistakes all in the name of "he's losing us the PL" nonsense in favor of Migs. How's that going right now with Migs back in goal? Peachy, right.

Many got carried away and now are shocked that Klopp is having a bad run as if that has never happened before. They kept comparing us to a Chelsea team, two seasons removed from a PL title with all their player still intact. Klopp has done great work with this team and since he and it is going through a bad run, he has earned the right to be supported in his quest to get us out of it and knee jerk reactions don't help.

After all, Klopp got us to 2nd in the PL only five weeks ago so if you supported him then, why change now or are you a bandwagon fan (not you, Waro)?

I can't believe we've dropped so low in the league.

1.) 27 Jan 2017 07:22:43
To be fair, a few of the recent 'issues' seemed avoidable or could have at least been better mitigated, but we are where we are and hopefully some lessons learned

2.) 27 Jan 2017 08:16:39
I'm hoping that was tongue in cheek Davey

I'm not in to all that stat .

If people need stats then you don't watch football properly and you're unable to make your own mind up on a game.

It's a simple fact of, which team was better than which?

Dead easy!

But, if I DID follow stats, that would tell me that only fifteen shots on goal against all of them teams is not bad.

My opinion is though, which I suggest other people follow, is that we're simply not worth a blow on a rag-mans trumpet at present, to put it bluntly, we're playing shabite, and it doesn't take stats to tell someone where the weakness lies in a team.

Oh yeah, our defence is poor, but them 'stats' still do not back up that claim, in my opinion.

Watch the game people, and leave the figures in the class room, or get to a game sometimes, as its (or was) fun.

Them stats would indicate a good defence and a poor goal keeper, or frighteningly lucky opposition.

Well, natural poolie, your comments are a direct criticism of the manager then, as it was Klopp who suggested that it was his team at the start of the season, which implied he was comfortable with what was at his disposal, and that he didn't necessarily require any additional players.

Either you're right, and the manager has got it badly wrong, or you're just as fickle as the rest of them on here, who was probably gloating to everyone that we would win the league two short months ago.

Local Architect?

Are you talking about an architect who most probably lives in the leafy Tory suburbs of Wirral?

If you meet her, ask her to update her Amiga 1200 and put a roof on the design, after all it does rain in Liverpool.

As for rerouting a road, what would she care?

It's not going to affect her abode, is it?

It seems to be a 'tug' of war in a race to sign him.

If Liverpool can 'pull this one off', then I for one would be happy.

He is prone to being 'dragged' all over the pitch though from aggressive opponents, so I'll come clean and admit that I'm reluctant we will sign him, but I'll take it on the chin if I'm wrong.

He's our most experienced player and ran the show during the Derby.

Just shows how lacking in experience we are.

Great player and should be given game time to encourage him to stay.

I'm not sure that Utd beating Chelsea was a shock.

At Old Trafford, being such a big game for both teams, Utd could never be written off.
