In the Irish press yesterday

Hart to LFC is a done deal.

29 million quoted to City as he has still 2 years left on his contract.

I know its been mentioned on here before but
I thought it was just hype

Now I'm not so sure.

Dermot385

1.) 20 Apr 2017 11:46:12
The Italian press are saying he's the second worst keeper in Italy. If they get half of 29 million they will have done well but it won't be us.

2.) 20 Apr 2017 11:54:48
I hear that Klopp has completely ruled this out so sounds like nonsense to me.

3.) 20 Apr 2017 12:40:00
Hart is a flapper simple as that, no better than mignolet.

4.) 20 Apr 2017 12:40:35
Can we please just stop talking about Hart, we are not signing him. He is beyond average, he's had a torrid spell in Italy. He is no upgrade whatsoever. Klopp stated this morning we have no interest in him at all.

5.) 20 Apr 2017 13:41:36
I just cannot see any scenario in which signing Hart makes sense other than Mignolet leaving, Karius leaving, Ward being the bencher, a new GK coach, improved defensive coaching and new defenders. And I mean all of those not just some. Since the evidence is there that all those aren't going to happen I don't see a point to considering the signing. Plus he isn't enough of an upgrade on Mignolet or Karius that if you improved Gk and defence coaching and the quality of defenders available you wouldn't just stick with improving those two we have already.

{Ed001's Note - Hart would struggle to make the team even if the only other option to playing him in goal was Coutinho on crutches.}

6.) 20 Apr 2017 15:34:50
I would rather we brought David James out of retirement than pay 20 million for Hart.

7.) 20 Apr 2017 17:56:39
I have to be honest thought Mignolet has looks okay towards the end of the season, Could definitely have someone more solid, but got to give him credit tbh. Hart wouldn't be an upgrade on minners imo.

8.) 20 Apr 2017 22:52:36
Hi Ed001 is that as in wouldn't get selected regardless not just an ability opinion? I thought Klopp was very quick and very exact in killing the story so was wondering if your comment reflects a wouldn't touch with a barge pole feeling at the club?

{Ed001's Note - it reflects the feeling in most clubs right now, the guy has shown himself to be utter dross over the last few seasons.}

9.) 21 Apr 2017 15:19:31
Agreed Migs has looked better this year. Still not the top level we need really but difficult to find someone better that will come to us right now. Hopefully Karius can step it up next season, still holding out some hope for the lad.

10.) 22 Apr 2017 17:10:12
Hart has looked average at city for seasons now. And made to look better by having played behind a very good defensive line and a strong attacking side. Klopp has now spoken and I couldn't be happier.

11.) 22 Apr 2017 19:58:21
Hart has been complete dross for ears and for Torino this season, he has succeeded in actually getting worse. Only his buddies in the media are trying to sell him to us cos no team with a functioning brain would sign him. Karius and Migs are way ahead of him IMO and if he wasn't English, NOT a soul would care about him.

26 Mar 2017 13:50:49
If Daniel Sturridge has a while left on his contract it may be hard to move him on as he would probably not get as good a deal at another club due to his injury history?

Dermot385

1.) 26 Mar 2017 20:22:46
Sane goes with Simon Mignolet.
Just Liverpool things you know Dermot 👀.

07 Dec 2016 23:02:56
Hi Eds.
The Real Madrid v Dortmund was on Irish Tv tonight and one of the commentators mentioned that the word around Dortmund is that a player called Sokratiz may be coming to Anfield in January.

Have you heard this from any of your sources?
Tks for the great sites.

dermot385

{Ed002's Note - No. Dortmund are more than happy to move Subotic on and only a failed medical blocked a move to Middlsbrough in the summer - they are still interested.}

1.) 08 Dec 2016 11:18:48
Dermot,

Did you mean Subotic or Sokratis Papadopoulos? I know which I'd prefer!

2.) 08 Dec 2016 19:02:57
Hi Graemem.
The second one.

On his shirt it says Sokratis. Probably couldn't fit the surname on the shirt

The commentator sounded fairly definite about it.
Saying that the word out of Dortmund is that Klopp wants Sokratis at Anfield.

3.) 09 Dec 2016 14:27:05
Is that the same player we were looking into 3-ish years ago who was having injury issues?

{Ed002's Note - Yes Colin.}

4.) 09 Dec 2016 15:32:41
Colin I think the lad you are referring to was kyriakos papa.
Ed's is it true about LFC bidding for
Franck Kessié as reported in Italy?
If not are the club interested in him?

{Ed002's Note - Atalanta say there have been no offers but they have been approached by two clubs and are aware of the interest of others. Liverpool are not one of the two clubs.}

5.) 10 Dec 2016 03:21:16
If true that Sokratz had a decent game till he got a kicking in the second half.

There has been NO word of it on the inter net since then .
So ther may be some truth in it.

Hi Eds and fans.

Is there any talj about us moving for Koeman.

I think he got the lot as a manager/ coach.

Plus he is hugely respected throughout Europe and has had a stellar playing career which potential signings would take into consideration.

Unlike our present incumbent philosopher

dermot385

{Ed001's Note - no, none.}

Hi Ed.
Great job by the way.

Now that pre season has started, do you think this wll occupy 'The Tapping one' from any more transgressions?

Dermot385

1.) 07 Jul 2017 11:54:30
Thanks again Ed. Great knowledge as always.
Don't often get the time to post with work, 3 kids and coaching kid's footy but whenever I do you always take the time to respond 👍🏻.

THIS IS LIVERPOOL FC.

Hi Eds and Reds,

Although there is only 3 points available for the game against Middlesbrough, our winning of them and securing at least 4th place and champions league football give these 3 points vital importance to our future development as a team .

What are the score predictions from the site.

I'm going for a 3-1 Livrpool win with a brace for Sturridge and a screamer from Couts.

The Boro. goal will come from Downing as that rubbish always happens to us.

YNWA.

Dermot385

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure I went for 4-2 to Liverpool with an early shock Negredo goal follwed by a Lovren equaliser on 23 minutes. I visualise Karius putting Liverpool in the lead by half time. Over half an orange and a cuppa of strong team at half time, an inspiring talk by Moreno ensures the side come out readied for the second half with two further goals from Lovren before a late flurry sees a Lovren own goal (curled in to the top corner from some distance). There will be bookings for Lovren, Can, Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi, Matip, Milner, Clyne, Karius and Mignolet. At the end of the game Klipperty will announce that Gaston Ramirez will be signing for Liverpool.}

1.) 21 May 2017 03:22:29
Odds? Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Evens I believe.}

2.) 21 May 2017 03:22:32
Ed0002, you should some research about substance a. never mind I like the way you visualize.

3.) 21 May 2017 06:31:50
I reckon a bad dose of man flu will take down half the team, and so an emergency loan later, Illori will return as the messiah (the definition of messiah is you need to return) to nod one if at the back post in the 90th minute, off a left footed cross from Ojo (who would have guessed we had a left footed winger all this time? )

1-0 and champions league, then those two will unfortunately disappear again, never to be seen again, and dutifully replaced by Mats Hummels and Konoplyanka, satisfying 4 years of cravings by the faithful fans.

4.) 21 May 2017 08:25:42
I dreamt 4-0 with a sturridge hat trick and a couts curler from 25 yards. Then the fans rushed the pitch 70s style at the end of the game and carried klopp on their shoulders around the pitch while setting off red flares and incurring yet another fine.

5.) 21 May 2017 07:33:30
Lottery numbers please Ed002 😎.

6.) 21 May 2017 07:45:33
That is just being stupid Ed- just fantasy there is no way that will happen- I know because they have coffee at half time NOT tea. Sometimes I think you just guess.!

Well done to Raffa taking time to support the run for the 96 at Stanley Park at the weekend.

He is a top man who still has Liverpool FC in his heart .

Apparently when leaving Liverpool he made a 96000 donation to the fund for the 96.

The man is a hero and should get a hero's welcome when he brings his Newcastle team to Anfield next season

I hope he does well at Newcastle but as you may agree not at our expense.

Dermot385

1.) 15 May 2017 16:53:17
Well done to him and his family for their commitment to the Justice for 96 movement.

2.) 15 May 2017 19:21:07
Great man, LFC legend.
The opposite of Mourinho, a humble, generous, loyal friend of the city of Liverpool.

YNWA Rafa 🏆.

13 May 2017 16:54:20
Hi Eds .
Indirectly Liverpool related .

What are your opinions on Craig Shakespeare?

I didn't know a lot about him before he took over from Ranieri; but each time I hear him summarise his teams and the refs etc. performance, He comes across very well, and has done a great job turning Leicesters season around.

Our rivals for top 4 got away with 3 points when they should have drawn or lost!

Cities goal was offside and Mahrez double touched the ball on the penalty' so the goal was disallowed by the ref and his assistants; who For some reason failed to see 2 city players encroaching on the penalty.

The encroachment came before the double tap so at least the Penalty should have been re taken.

Unlucky Leicester but a great comeback performance that deserved at least a point.

Dermot385

{Ed001's Note - he is a friend of the players, not a manager.}

1.) 13 May 2017 17:10:26
Short term fix i think.

{Ed001's Note - he is an excellent coach, but he is too close to the players to keep discipline, in fact he was a part of the problem in the first place due to his closeness to them.}

2.) 13 May 2017 17:18:26
Thanks for the reply Ed.

I definitely see your point about being too close to the players a assistant manager; but, the team has reacted well to him and surely that's the aim of any manager who ultimately are judged on the results.

Going forward it would be nice to see another home grown manager in the premier league.

{Ed001's Note - I don't care where a manager or player comes from, Shakespeare will struggle when he needs to maintain discipline. Where was he when discipline broke down at the beginning of the season? He was a big part of the problem, he is not a solution.}

3.) 13 May 2017 18:15:54
isn't he the snake that got Claudio fired.

4.) 14 May 2017 00:26:10
Ed is right. You don't replace a failing manager with his assistant. It is just nonsense. It is the job of the assistant to know the players as he serves as a liason btw the manager and the players. Once the assistant becomes the head man, he is in trouble cos the players cos they have always seen him as their BFF, he will have issues maintaining discipline because that notion of being the players' BFF will not go away overnight and when results start going south, they will turn on him too. Again, you don't replace failure with it's assistant no if you want to improve as a club.

5.) 13 May 2017 19:44:39
Thanks for the reply Ed.

Final questionstage.

Do you think that he will be there next year?

Or if a new coach comes in will he drop down to assistant again.

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to get the job in the summer, as that will help them keep the players. It will all end in tears I am sure.}

You're right ther super red.

Id actually say that klopp could put out a full team of 10 fit, box to box midfielders,

Good all rounders who can attack and defend as a unit and fit.

They could all interchange positions, even with the goalkeeper lol.

Flanno should go as well to a club luke boro or Villa.,

A season playing regular football in the championship would build up his resistance better tha warming a bench at Anfield or Burnley.

Its make or break for the lad this season.

Since he was part of the English U20 team that won the world cup recently,

Would that increase his value at the tribunal?

He was actually named player of rhe tournament.

Every club that Mourinho managed tried to sign Gerrard.

On international duty Lampard and Terry were full time in his ear.

Fergie tried twice to sign him; same crack as above with Scholes and Neville in his ear.

Yap Stam told everyone in his book that Fergie had illegally approached him.
Thats why Fergie offloaded him.

The list could go on and on and not just transfers.

The russians doping scandle.

Look at Platini, Beckenbaur, Quatar The scams at Rangers involving players trusts.

The chairnan at Marseilles i think was jailed .

Even Ed mentioned about a champs league match that was suspicious.

I'd say there are many more as well but football is now big business and companies and clubs will try and do what they can to gain an advantage.

They all are guided by the 11th commandment.

Hi Ed 2.

You should cut and paste them answers and whenever the same subject is raised againn Paste, paste, paste,

The repeat offenders would soon get bored with the repeated answer.

By the way I did the Anfield tour last week and did not notice King Kennys name on the stand named in his honour.

Is this to sorted before the season kicks off?

Dermot385

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool will have some sort of beano at some point to formally rename the Centenary Stand as the Kenny Dalglish Stand. I am not aware when that has been scheduled for - or even if it has been scheduled.}

The standard of squad that Fergie took over at Utd is nearer to what Klopp inherited at Liverpool.

It took him 5 seasons.

Jose inherited a squad 2nd to none and had his choice of any players in the world.

Big difference.
Look at Pep as well.

Its a fair point.

But if you added up the money that Utd gave Jose to spend and along with Ibrahs wages, add that to what theve spent in the last few years.
then you get a slightly different picture.
