News reports this morning are basically saying Neymar turned up to training, told the squad he is off and left. One of his agents, (one of how? many does he need? ), is supposedly in Paris. Now I appreciate Barcelona want Coutinho as his replacement but considering Neymar seems to have been the one in Coutinho's ear for so long does this make it less likely he would go there? The Neymar transfer seems to be a bit of a mess so could that closeness backfire on Barcelona and he tell PC to avoid? Is there a feel for whether the desire to play there or the connection to his Brazilian team mate is the stronger driver? Or am I just clutching at straws? (As an aside I've never really got the assumption that Portuguese soeaking/ influenced Brazilians automatically want to play for a Spanish club) .

Have to admit i did think this aswell!

By that argument he could be of interest to PSG also.

Friends are important but Barcelona are still a huge club so it wouldn't change much. Also Couts was never seen as Neymar's replacement (frankly that would be a downgrade), he was being looked at for their midfield. I can see Barcelona switching their focus to Mbappe now which may impact their pursuit of Couts.

I still can't believe Paris are willing to pay so much for Neymar. He is an excellent player, but also comes across like Justn Bieber with his attitude. He is not worth it.
And yes, I think if he leaves Barcelona then Couts will not be as committed to jumping ship, which is looking good since Neymar has pissed off most of his team mates.

Barca will move for Sanchez the man Neymar replaced. Simple option better player than neymar. Just needs a i have never forgotten you phone call from messi.

You are aware of why Sanchez left Barca. he won't be going back there.

18 months ago no question but 18 months blighted by injuries are a worry.

I would expect that before the going to be sacked stuff started, if Klopp is still saying he can't find better defenders to work his system he will be told to change the system and get in defenders that are better in a different style of play. Plus you'd think some of that pressure will come onto the scouting and coaching structure as well. They have invested a lot of money in Klopp and if they weren't happy I can't see a deal like the Keita one being sanctioned.

I players wanting assurances that they are being signed as a starting player, to be played in their regular position and no plans to sign other starting players in same role; is being confused with a player expecting to play regardless. I don't think even footballers think they will play every game regardless, (with some very few exceptions) and I would expect they understand the flip side of that would be the manager would be able to say they have to play even when they don't want to. It is not so different to any of us going for a job where they give a range of roles and we want to understand what the split of our time is likely to be. You don't sign to be benching or out of position and back up if you want to be playing regularly. Can as the Eds have said sees that as what he'd be signing up to at LFC.

Still could go and I'd fully expect that to happen.

I don't think the choice of country sounds like it was because nothing local, there is a lot to be gained by time abriad and presumably Klopp has contacts who can keeo an eye there. I assume can't be cup tied with them either.

This is the problem with throwing fringe players the one match a month bone, it ramps up pressure to perform without the match sharpness to back that up.

If performances don't become more consistent you'd have to expect them to get games.

It happened last year as well, meant problems because when can't take chances opposition always look capable of a goal or two. Really need something to happen with at least one of Sturridge, Ings and Solanke unfortunately they are all in a situation where they need time and matches.

I do have an issue with this constant theme of we didn't need a true striker when we beat this team or that team, no we didn't but then we didn't need good centre backs when we beat them either. The issue isn't the games we win it is the constant drip of games we draw and lose where those weaknesses are the reason. Poor defending and poor finishing will stop this club winnng trophies. We are relying on guys who are 1 in 6-10 conversion rate at best to do the job of a player scoring every 2 or 3 chances. Great when we batter a team and those players are on song, but when there are less chances or they are on their couldn't score if there til tomorrow mode then it becomes an issue. This is the same situation as bit Benitez and Rodgers, not how good the good days were but the inability to go out and get a job done on the nothing special days against the sides that title winners are beating every time.

Why does it have to be Firminho or a 20 a season finisher, why not both.
