Talk of Stoke and West Ham moving for Danny Sturridge in January.

EAMON DUNPHY

1.) 15 Nov 2016 13:16:37
£28m for Sturridge we got more than that for benteke lol.

2.) 15 Nov 2016 16:05:16
Wont leave in Jan unless a replacement is already lined up prior to any potential departure.

3.) 16 Nov 2016 07:59:35
Replacement? Origi.

4.) 16 Nov 2016 08:17:29
I don't think they will let him leave in January with Ings' injury. Maybe the summer if Ings' recovery progressed well.

Klopp appearing on MNF Sky sports tonight. not a big fan of managers leaving themselves open on shows like this.

EAMON DUNPHY

1.) 26 Sep 2016 10:11:03
Agree. Especially when it's our boss.
Hope any Lpool related discussions are minimal!

2.) 26 Sep 2016 11:59:58
Klopps not stupid, i think it will be a great watch, and be good to get an insight in to how he sees how games work when analysing opposition.

3.) 27 Sep 2016 02:51:07
You guys are giving this way more importance than it deserves.

Hi Eds,

Of the players out on loan you have said :

Ilori is available for transfer.
Aspas likely to sign for sevilla.

Is there any interest in luis Alberto?

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1.) 20 May 2015 18:36:43
Is there any chance that Alberto or Ilori could be kept as squad players next year? Neither ever really got given a chance here

{Ed002's Note - They are unwanted by the club - although unless Liverpool reduce the asking price for Ilori he won't be sold. Staying as squad members will not be attractive to either - Liverpool has done enough damage to their careers already.}

2.) 20 May 2015 19:21:46
Fair enough, thanks.

3.) 21 May 2015 11:03:24
Ed have you got any insight into what the heck happened with Ilori? I feel sorry for the kid and have long waited for him to be given a chance. I still think him or Wisdom would be suitable for the right sided CB of a three. Why was he bought and then discarded so readily?
Thanks a mil

{Ed002's Note - That is a question for Rodgers, not me. There is plenty of interest in Ilori but the price is too high right now.}

Hi Eds. Do you see pastore leaving PSG. Would we be monitoring his situation? Thanks.

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool did make an enquiry about the player in 2010. PSG need to raise funds but he is not currently expected to leave. I am not aware of any contact with PSG about the player from Liverpool.}

1.) 16 May 2015 07:03:11
Thanks for your time ed002

Hi Ed would love to get your opinion on Paul Pogba mate.

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed001's Note - very good player being used incorrectly at the moment. He will get better as he develops a partnership in midfield, but it will take time, as he needs someone alongside him who understands when he is charging forward and when he is holding back etc. He needs to be given freedom in a deeper role, as a box to box midfielder, rather than an attacking mid starting 5-10 yards further up the pitch. He is almost on top of the opposing defence when he receives the ball, when he should be bursting onto them at pace, after a few yards to get going.}

1.) 03 Nov 2016 14:01:14
He needs to play in a midfield 3 he would be best suited playing with Carrick holding, Herrera as a deep playmaker and pogba box to box.

2.) 03 Nov 2016 14:25:53
Let's hope he's kept to playing out of position, i'm not going to moan at that. At the moment he's done bugger all, long may it continue.

3.) 03 Nov 2016 14:36:58
Ed01, What was the need of Pogba given Herrerra plays pretty much in that position. Pogba and Herrerra in a midfield would overkill as both would get into each others way or one will be completely isolated in the midfeild.
Schniderlin-Pogba should be the deal imo.

{Ed001's Note - they are not the same, and, even if they were, it is like saying why would you get Messi when you have Willian. They both play mainly right wing, but they are a whole different level from each other. Pogba, on his game, is a worldie, Herrera is merely an excellent player.}

4.) 03 Nov 2016 14:38:19
I agree Ed after watching Pogba play over the years at Juve. While there, he played on the left of a 4-4-2 diamond under Allegri and on the left of a central midfield t3 of he Vidal/ Marquisio and Pirlo. He was lethal in said positions as he had partners and a setup to get the best out of him. He`s being used badly as you say, no just at Utd, but with les Bleus as Deschamps still does not know what his best position is hence, he struggled at the Euros and is doing the same now at Utd. He may need time AND a manager who actually knows what to do with him. Is that manager Mou? Time will tell.

{Ed001's Note - Deschamps is hopeless to be fair.}

5.) 03 Nov 2016 19:54:43
Hendersons and Pogba would be a great pair together. Shame about his odd run I guess Fergie!

6.) 03 Nov 2016 20:25:35
Utd are going through a phase where no matter what they do It'll not work out right.
And throwing money at it and huge wages are not the answer.

By the way. GOOD RIDDANCE AND LONG MAY IT LAST.
ynwa.

Ed001 mate, what went wrong with young Jack Robinson, he looked like he could have been our left full for years to come.

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed001's Note - there were a few attitude issues.}

1.) 12 Oct 2016 21:46:19
He never really developed defensively either in my opinion. Although that may well have been due to him not training hard enough.

2.) 12 Oct 2016 22:00:23
Didnt he once mouth off to suarez in a cup game and was never seen again?

3.) 13 Oct 2016 00:09:45
Where is he now? forgot he existed until I saw this.

4.) 13 Oct 2016 20:02:00
It never looked like that to me whenever I saw him play. Could he have been? Maybe but his attitude problems may have ruined his chances.

20 Sep 2016 12:22:51
Be great to see Grujic and karius start.

EAMON DUNPHY

13 Sep 2016 19:01:54
Ed001 mate why did Marcus Babel leave bayern Munich at that time. He must have been a massive Liverpool fan as he was one of the best defenders in Europe at the time and surely had some serious offers on the table.

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed001's Note - it was a free transfer to join what was, at the time, seen as a much bigger club. We were the most famous club in Europe at one time, and he grew up in that era. German football was not like now either, it was a time when their best players did go abroad to play. How times have changed!}

1.) 13 Sep 2016 22:04:40
Was Karl Heinz Reidler a similar situation to Babbel?
I vaguely remember him having just won a European Cup before moving to Liverpool? My memory is sketchy at the best of times though!

2.) 13 Sep 2016 22:06:07
The best players in Germany at the time mostly went to Italy, Ed. Players like Thomas Hassler ( Roma), Jeugen Kohler and Andreas Moller (Juve), Mathaus, Brehme and Klinsmann (Inter), Thomas Doll and Karl Heinz Reidler (Lazio), the list go on. All these players became World Cup winners with Germany in 1990. Legends, really. You're right tho as times have truly changed.

3.) 13 Sep 2016 23:13:09
Riedle cost £1.5m but was knocking on a bit when we signed him from Dortmund.

12 Sep 2016 08:46:44
Looks like John Terry will miss the game against us on Friday night, I think that's a negative for us.

EAMON DUNPHY

1.) 12 Sep 2016 09:10:59
Terry is a big game player. Even with some known weaknesses, in the end, he will pull something out of the bag, be that a last ditch tackle, an inspired 2nd half or pop up for a corner with a late goal.

I would rather he didn't play, to be honest.

2.) 12 Sep 2016 09:23:16
Much rather face sideshow bob.

3.) 12 Sep 2016 09:57:15
Would be nicer if the one missing was Costa. He is a massive player for them. Draw so much attentin from defenders and still has time to score a few and miss one or two sitters as well. Not a fan of the guy, but would be much happier to see him on the bench.

4.) 12 Sep 2016 13:49:09
I`ll take whatever first teamer who can`t play 9especially the capt, leader and big game player like Terry) as a positive.

5.) 12 Sep 2016 16:34:32
People have been knocking Terry for a few years now. Fact is, he remains a very good player and is still crucial to everything Chelsea do. Any possibility of him or Hazard not being on the team sheet is good news.

6.) 12 Sep 2016 17:00:25
I'm always up for a bit of gamesmanship - get one or two of our defenders to wind up Costa for the first 15mins on Friday and he'll soon be on a yellow card meaning he'll have to tailor his game a little to avoid a second.

I know some people won't like that but let's be honest, Costa is a good player but he let's himself down by being a thuggish cheat on occasion and we need to learn a little bit of that ourselves.

7.) 12 Sep 2016 17:44:51
We have enough in the tank to be able to beat whatever XI any team in England put together. Whether we will or not is another matter - we need to perform at the top of our game but we can do it.

Hi ed001, do you think the owners are aware that the majority of the fans would like to see Brendan gone. Also what do you think their reasons for keeping him would be.

EAMON DUNPHY

{Ed002's Note - The owners have used a Hartford based company to gather data and report on social media, internet, media views on the club and players. They will know the views of the fans. They certainly won't act on that basis.}

Dan Agger could have moved and earned a lot more money than he was getting paid for us. I think the lad would play for LFC for free. He deserves a lot of respect as he stayed at the club during periods of terrible times and terrible managers. So for that reason he is a LFC legend.
