Hi all,

Want to make a post about Gerrard in wake of much discussion on his position and even his validity in the first team.

IMO Gerrard is best deployed where he is currently employed, especially in the current 3 5 2 we are playing. With our use of full backs to provide width and two strikers, both of who are comfortable to drop left or right to receive the ball, we need the long diagonal pass. Not many players can play it like Gerarrd - maybe 4 or 5 I know in Europe. And we can use that ball when breaking quickly as well as attempting it to put players through down the middle, though this will be unlikely to be attempted whilst Coutinho is playing.

Suggestions as a dynamno coming off the bench are crazy Gerrard's passing range can create width and stretch play. Not using him will narrow us and make the 3-5-2 very narrow.
