{Ed002's Note - Chipceu and Stanciu I can't help with and the "Liverpool" interest in Lukasz Teodorczyk is actually from Everton.}

1.) 04 May 2017 11:58:37
Good, I can't imagine having to pronounce those names.

2.) 04 May 2017 14:49:14
Chip and Stan - easy TJ.

3.) 05 May 2017 01:57:36
I know of Stanceu, but only from him scoring a few pens in the Euro's, he was the best player in the Romanian team by far, but he didn't seem to be premier league quality.

Must say I was very happy with emre yesterday. He had a good solid game but the thing that stood out for me was the timings of his jumps for heading the ball was good all day, that for me was the reason why he would be one of the week est player in the league in the air (not counting the shrimps) which is something I have had ago at him about a few weeks back. Hope this is down to the hard work he is doing on the trainING ground and not just a lucky day at the office for him. Accuresy from headers was good also, a few misplaced but a huge improvement from him.

Next is gini. I remember seeing little bits of him at psv I think it was and thought he was a neat little player, at Newcastle I don't think he managed to give the same sort of performances that he had given back in holland. For us he has been solid and kept it simple so far this season, I am not just putting this down to one moment but there is always something that happens with a player which make you think we have a proper player on our hands here. For me with gini it was as simple as when he easily out musseled koscielney to keep position of the ball near the sideline. It showed strength and passion to fight. For me a midfielder needs to be commeted to keeping the clean sheet cause, looking out for mates when they are out of position and dropping in to help out, fight/ spirit what ever you want to call it the willingness to do what ever it takes to get over the line and good passing range. Which I believe he has all of. The fact the lad can finish is a bonus and when he does settle fully I think the lad will be as important to the side as Hendo.

Origi is a lad that I really do want to get more time on the pitch. He rarely disappoints and give an honest showing of himself every time.
Full of running and trying to make space for his mates. If he can get in the goal trail he can get himself a nice little run of goals. Was it 5 in a row of games earlier this season . He was first choice last year towards the end of the season putting in great performances. He is still just a kid is it 21 or 22. So he needs to be playing.

Don't be to harsh on me lad.
Thanks.

your points are fair mate. I think what fans are looking for are for these players to do it consistently - if they do that we will be formidable.

2.) 05 Mar 2017 21:06:07
I think its fair to say klopp got his subs spot on, origi had a excellent 10 minutes, ran the channels, held up the ball well, hit the post with a header and laid on the 3rd goal with a great pass, well played origi.

3.) 06 Mar 2017 00:18:04
I haven't seen us play that well for a long time, well done boys and Klopp!

4.) 06 Mar 2017 00:06:54
Good post, lad ;)

5.) 05 Mar 2017 21:07:53
this response isn't in direct response to this post but just on Can, I wish everyone would just lay off the guy. he is what, like 12 yr old? it's like Ed001 harps on and on about with regards to giving youth a chance. I mean, how many midfielders, or just players his age are carving up the prem at the mo? He might not come into his own and be the player we all want him to be right now until he hits his mid-20s. he needs time.

6.) 06 Mar 2017 09:35:50
Good post, Gotklopp. Emre had a stellar performance by simply doing the simple things right. Never tried anything special nor anything fancy. He just kept things ticking over, dominated midfield due to his athleticism and physicality, snuffed out Giroud, his long and short range passing were great and if all else failed, he just booted it upfield. Sometimes, you have to focus more on your strengths rather than your weaknesses during games and he did that well.

As for Gini, he has improved us overall this season and will only get better. Origi? He has shown that he belongs in the squad well ahead of Studge at the moment. The kid has all the tools to be great. He is the closest thing to Klopp's other crown jewel Lewandowski due to his pace, power, physicality and aerial ability.

He is regarded as a hybrid mix of Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba and for good reason, not saying he is already there BUT the traits are there. It's up to him to put it all together and Klopp will "have a lot of fun with this player", as he said last season.

#1 do you not think hendo is being shackled in the holding role. His best asset during our 2nd place under rodgers was the energy he brought, him missing those 3 games is a big part of us not getting over the line that season in my opinion. has his injury affected how mobile he can be around the pitch?
Would he be better suited to the role Gini is playing and have lucas drop into the holding position. It would bring some much needed legs back in for us going forward and have the added advantage of lucas shelding the back 4.

Gotklopp

{Ed001's Note - I think he is growing into the role, what he needs is a partner in some games to allow him a little more freedom. We are too locked into the same formation in every match, when a simple switch to two holding players would change the whole thing around massively.}

1.) 30 Jan 2017 11:34:53
Ed someone who can break up the play the play will help him

{Ed001's Note - that is what I am saying, though only in some games is that needed. More in the games we dominate to allow Hendo to break late into the box, as no one else in midfield is doing that. That was supposed to be what Wijnaldum would do, but he is not contributing at all to our attacks right now. He doesn't seem to want to make late runs, in fact lately any runs, into the box.}

2.) 30 Jan 2017 12:21:10
Ive been saying hendo stewart (holding) lallana as the 3 would be miles more effective

3.) 30 Jan 2017 14:23:08
Ed do you think it might help to have a 4-2-3-1 with Sturridde/ origi lone striker and our current front 3 (Lallana, Couts, Mané ) behind with two holding in front of defence?

{Ed001's Note - erm what about Firmino?}

4.) 30 Jan 2017 16:04:52
It's clear we've needed a true holding midfielder; certainly in the games where we've lost due to counterattacks through the middle. I don't think Stewart is a solution now; maybe in the future. I know Klopp has a penchant for speedy, technical players but a burly, solid, nasty guy right smack in the middle of the park (like a Benetti, Simeone, Gattuso, Tardelli, Souness, Roy Keane or similar) would go a long way in making teams think twice about rushing down the center of the field as they have been doing. I would even take back the Lucas of old, when he was cutting off anything coming anywhere near our penalty box with a fierce tackle (or a foul) . He's lost a lot over the years due to injuries and age, and depending on him for a title run is not the most prudent strategy. Hendo is very capable but placing him in a purely defensive role, does in fact shackle him to a certain extent. I still remember his regular defense splitting passes to a Suarez or Sturridge in the past; something we don't see as much of nowadays. I'd prefer to see him in a CM role with a mix of both ofensive and defensive duties, and with a DM next to him or behind him depending on whether we are in possession of the ball or not.

5.) 30 Jan 2017 18:16:35
I don't think I would ever ageee with you RA. But that's post of the day for me. Someone like Moussa Dembele of Spurs. Him and Henderson would rule the PL. lol it's all coming the same point what Ed02 claimed. Klopp loves runners and CDM hardly runs.

6.) 30 Jan 2017 19:25:02
That time when you work out who Mathematics actually is.

7.) 31 Jan 2017 05:20:48
Harry, we've never agreed on anything and probably never will, except for this one subject of the DM (going by past posts) . It's almost tragic. But it is what it is. Klopp's system of using 2 converted AM's (Lallana and Wijnaldum) in midfield was working quite well for us earlier in the season. But when you see strikers from low-table championship team streaking down the middle and slicing our defense like a hot knife in butter, you have to stop saying "oh, it happens in football" and have defensive options available.

And may I suggest "Rogue" or "Instigator" as your next name change? :-)

Alright eddie and fellow reds.

Ed any chance of getting your 2 cents on why illori has not managed to cement a starting birth at any of the clubs he has been at? I know inexperience and injury would be a part of it while out on loan, but he has never really kicked on from the lad we bought.
He seems like a decent tackler, good on the ball and can pick a pass (trys to force them at times for me) . But their has to be 1 or 2 major flaws in his game, as no manager seems to give him more then a few first team appearances per season, even though for me he has not looked out of place while on the pitch, never had an outstanding game where I've said we have something special on our hands here, but I do believe that a CB does not need to stand to be a good player.

Is he not strong enough, positinally not good enough, not strong enough in the air, not good enough at reading what's in front of him, invites to much pressure while in the ball, attatude, what is it that is missing from his game in your opinion?

Also interested in my fellow reds opinions on the lad. just not interested in the IT'S RODGERS FAULT brigade.

I really did have a hope of having a CB with pace to hold the high line, it would work so well with klopps press and a compact pitch.

Hope you have the time to compose a piece on this, but even if you don't thanks for all the work you put into the site on a daily basis.

1.) 07 Jan 2017 16:40:27
Overweight and a bit lazy

2.) 07 Jan 2017 20:48:50
Ed001 has mentioned on a couple of occasions that Michael Beale was trying to get him a chance in the first team before he left, but I guess you have more information on his situation 🤔.

3.) 07 Jan 2017 21:27:15
Not given a chance initially, then he suffered a string of injuries, seemingly lost motivation for a while as his fitness was wavering and effort seemed to be lacking, before finally he found his feet over the last 12 months and put in some brilliant performances for the ressies to very deservingly earn a move to a good club at a competitive level of football.

I wish him all the luck in the world and regret massively how poorly his career was managed by Liverpool. He has been severely let down. Selling him is the first decent thing we have done for his career.

4.) 09 Jan 2017 03:46:02
Spot on, MK. The way he was let down and lied to by BR was disgusting and a huge embarassment.

For me it makes more sense for milner to play rb and have clyne push over to lb as milies delivery is much better.

1.) 06 Aug 2016 17:03:21
Play 2 out of position instead of one? Sure why not? Lol.

2.) 06 Aug 2016 18:46:04
Sorry your right clyne offers way to much down the right to be moved over to the left where he never plays.

To be fair it's not just the fans who's morals go out the window. There is quite a few there the club has made questionable decisions about players.
Signed suarez after he already bit a player.
Rah$$m when he was running around with his little gang, and then bashing his girlfriend should have been pushes out the door.
