Eds have you heard anything of diego costa being at melwood for a medical today, heard a lot on this, anything your end?

{Ed002's Note - Would this be Twitter? Diego Costa is not even on the European continent - he is in South America and played in Montevideo last night.}

Have you heard anything about Klopp signing a contract extension until 2028?

Hardy1892

1.) 06 Jan 2024 21:15:41
I haven't but I would love it to be true.

2.) 06 Jan 2024 21:54:41
Shame as I really want pep lindjers to take over.

3.) 06 Jan 2024 23:12:28
Imagine that! Pepball where everyone inverts to form a line down the middle of the pitch!

Ed1 and Oli’s heads would explode! ?.

4.) 07 Jan 2024 07:30:15
I read that on a reliable enough account. Hopefully it true, best signing we will ever make.

5.) 07 Jan 2024 10:01:05
Plenty on here wanted Ljinders to take the reins from Klopp. I wonder what changed ?.

6.) 07 Jan 2024 10:29:32
Bit nervous about this. He’ll be edging closer to the 14 year point where we know he’ll be twice as bad a manager as he is at the 7 year mark.

7.) 07 Jan 2024 10:32:49
@Hardy, Are you asking anybody in particular, mate?

To be honest, I suspect the club would be fairly quick to let everybody know if he had signed a new contract.

8.) 07 Jan 2024 10:33:06
This came up in the comments on a Liverpool YouTube channel. I wasn't sure if it was true.
I can't decide if it's a good idea or not.

9.) 07 Jan 2024 10:46:44
@BP, are you kidding me? I would absolutely lose it and the bad thing here is that Klopp will seriously lobby for Pep to be his successor and his voice will hold a lot of weight so that's my fear.

@IR, new facts and new information that has emerged is what changed so you trying to mock those who use new information to form better opinions is quite bizarre cos really, the joke is on you. Hilarious, right?

Now this may be foreign to you BUT people are allowed to change their minds/ opinions on topics when they have new facts and new knowledge/ information to work with. I'm sure you know what they say about people wwho lack the ability to change their minds when new facts and new information appear.

10.) 07 Jan 2024 10:58:15
Klopp seems extremely happy to be Liverpool manager and the only other job that could tempt him is Germany and let’s be honest they’re the weakest they’ve been in years so it could be the worst time to take over.

I imagine the two biggest factors in Klopps decision will be his wife and then Pep and if Pep allows him more say in our formation and tactics.

11.) 07 Jan 2024 12:14:49
JK23, not sure he ever wanted the Germany job to begin with cos Klopp enjoys coaching everyday like Jose, Wenger etc. so if he leaves us (hopefully, not after his current contract), he may just call it a day, IMO.

That said, I agree that he is loving life right now and with this young team doing a madness right now, he seems energized to see this rebuild thru till the end as it seems their youth potential has ignited said new energy, IMO.

12.) 07 Jan 2024 14:12:48
Oli I would ask what information did you have in the first place to even suggest Ljinders as a candidate in the first place ?.

13.) 07 Jan 2024 14:35:38
@IR, the information is clear for all to see if you actually bothered paying attention and read between the lines. Pep was promoted from being head of the pathway (to his direct no. 2 and became Klopp's trusted assistant to the point that he binned BFF Buvac cos clearly, Pep was having some good influence on things tactically along with the fitness coach Andreas Kornmeyer) and still does till this day, according to Klopp himself. See his comments after the City and Newcastle games.

Pep then left to become the NAC Breda manager and even tho things ended badly and he got let go, Klopp was eager to get him back so Klopp took him back so to anyone paying attention, it is normal to think that he could be a viable replacement for Klopp when he leaves cos well, Klopp trusts the system and knows the club and players from inside out esp. IF we cannot find a suitable replacement outside of the Klopp. This was my opinion on the matter at the time. So was that such a far-fetched opinion to have esp. since I was not the only one who had such an opinion?

Now that the Ed's have provided us all with new information about his mentality, his arrogance, hypocrisy and using Klopp to further his own image in public to the point that even match commentators are mentioning Pep as the man who convinced Klopp to use Trent inverted, shows me he lacks the humility and ability to lead our great clubas he is simply showing the traits a certain Brendan Rodgers exhibited thru out his time here and sorry, i wan NOTHING to do with ANY of that hence, he should NOT even be considered. Klopp may want him BUT unlike before where I did not mind Pep, I don't want him. QED!

14.) 07 Jan 2024 19:28:49
Top of the league, semi final, still in the two ther cups. is Pep not the best assistant manager in the world this season no? And Oli, none of us know the man. Klopp rates him so i'll take that.

15.) 07 Jan 2024 21:22:08
To be fair Oli, the Ed’s have provided their perspective of how they believe Pep is putting himself forward for that purpose.

16.) 07 Jan 2024 22:31:36
@Faith, that could be true for sure BUT since @IR likes to mock people for changing their minds when the facts clearly have changed, that post was for him.

Hopefully, he will learn and stop mocking people who refuse to remain un-intelligent and impervious to change even when the facts call for it.

@JN, that's your opinion and that's fine. I have a different one to yours and that's fine too.

17.) 07 Jan 2024 23:07:00
@Neggy, best to assume it will be a bad thing mate - after all, what has Klopp actually achieved at Liverpool (or Dortmund and Mainz for that matter. ) ?

Does anyone know if our final game against Newcastle is televised? Thanks.

Agree totally con, no abuse from me! We can all clearly see our rival for fourth place in tottenham are running away with it, they are willing to go that extra mile and bring in quality! What we have now isn't good enough! I just hope these these so called interests in the likes of mkhitaryan, diego costa and wilian weren't just bids knowing full well the clubs would refuse our low offers but in the process keep us fans sweet and thinking that a quality signing is sure to happen! Then they can say oh well we tried! Hope i'm wrong but we all know what's going on here! 5th at best is where we'll be! No more signings will come, mark my words!

Chill guys! So what if willian is going to spurs, fair play to them, they will be a force this season! It is one player, even without anymore transfers, we are a match for anyone, though we will surely have other options, let's move on, stick together, let it all unfold and hope we have a great season! Roll on sept 2nd when the window shuts! Ynwa

Why would we go back? We value Lavia at less than southampton do, which is why we moved onto Caicedo, he has chose Chelsea, we move onto the next, let's hope there is a next already in place though, otherwise this season could be a write off before it begins, as we have been left ridiculously short at DM.

We got him for an initial fee of £35m rising to £55m in add ons from what I gather, which is very cheap in today's market and considering sources were touting in excess of 70m+ or is this far off the mark?

Hardy1892

{Ed002's Note - Interesting.}

Appreciate your info ed002, but you claimed Mac allister would be hugely expensive, was nobody aware of the clause in his contract, brilliant bit of business for Liverpool Ynwa.

Hardy1892

{Ed002's Note - How much did he cost then? If you would prefer I don't share anymore then just say.}

I don't see it unfortunately, his end product is shocking, another player being hyped up but will end up at Blackburn in a year or so.
