Ed02, how's Sparky doing these days? He has been extremely quiet. Hope all is well.

In Istanbul

{Ed002's Note - Sparky has been working on his music and transfer related Sparkopod. A couple of weeks and it should be ready.}

1.) 19 Jun 2021 10:27:51
Has he done a collaboration with anyone ed2?

2.) 19 Jun 2021 16:08:21
I’m sure I overheard sparky talking about buying a “new house” he said it in a strange German accent weirdly.

Out of curiosity and on the assumption clubs still physically scout players.
Under C.V. rules and restrictions how are clubs scouting these days? I believe clubs usually send scouts to stadia to watch individual or groups of players. Is that still allowed?
Thanks in advance.

In Istanbul

{Ed002's Note - It is allowed where the rules will allow attendees as you would expect.}

1 point closer ED001 mate. Never known the feeling of winning the league, last night just made it all seem so much more real. Appreciate nothing is done yet but after them 3 months off the feelings of watching our boys back in action again was great. Hope you're keeping well mate.

In Istanbul

{Ed001's Note - I was just glad to get the game out of the way. Everton always hack their way through derbies and they make me nervous of the damage that gets done to our players more than the chances of a bad result. Nobody has played well this weekend, it is going to take time to get match sharp, 3 or 4 games at the very minimum. Good here thanks, just glad to have footie back! How are things there?}

1.) 22 Jun 2020 09:59:09
You think about it, apart from injuries, this last 2/ 3 months has probably been the longest pro footballers have gone without playing football since they were kids. I mean no training for ages, no contact with fellow players. Even if we draw five matches, so what?

{Ed001's Note - I doubt any kid who has ended up in the pro ranks will have gone more than 2 or 3 days without playing a game. I know the longest I ever went was a week as a kid.}

2.) 22 Jun 2020 10:00:04
Very true and I think we all need to accept it will take time to get back into form
I’m happy that Keita looked good in the first game back
For me he can make a difference to us is he stays fit but there is definitely a Liverpool player there for me.

3.) 22 Jun 2020 10:58:19
Brilliant thanks mate, been on furlough for over 2 months which is the most surreal thing I've ever been through. But no complaints so long as everyone is healthy at the end of it. Just typical yesterday it was the machine Millie who goes off injured, about as ironic as it gets. I'd never read too much in to any derby game personally let alone this one. The big prize is all that matters.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, it doesn't matter how we get there now, every team that wins it has a stutter, but we are now faced with completely unprecedented circumstances and all that matters is getting over the line.}

4.) 22 Jun 2020 11:41:30
Lol, same here ed01. Always had a game going on as a kid. Keita did look good eh. I really like him. I think he needs his confidence up. Before his last injury he was playing really really well. Scoring, involved in everything. An in form keita is absolutely massive.

{Ed001's Note - if he can stay fit he will be fine.}

5.) 22 Jun 2020 11:51:55
Totally agree Ed001 even before the lockdown I was saying I don't care about the performance just get job done and the trophy in the cabinet.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, it is all about that trophy.}

6.) 22 Jun 2020 18:51:06
Spot on, Ed. I expected us to be rusty yesterday so not surprised. With Everton hacking, did you see the dreadful treatment Mane went thru last night and Mike Dean just stood there and waved play on? Happy he’s ok cos I feared for him as well.

As for the game itself, Naby was excellent and I thought Minamino looked sharp and crisp in his movement as well. Mane was also on it.

All in all, let’s wrap up the Pl and then on to next season.

Defo ed01.

Ed01
What was your opinion on David James mate?

In Istanbul

{Ed001's Note - a waste of talent. He could have been a world class keeper but he was a complete bellend and never bothered achieving what he could. Constantly late or missing training to party. Utter dick and should have been booted out of the club long before he did.}

1.) 05 May 2020 16:50:58
So a high opinion then 😂
He's just before my time, my early memories of him were that he was absolutely god awful to be honest.

{Ed001's Note - god awful is a very accurate summation of his time with us. Too far up his own backside to bother trying, that was the problem.}

2.) 05 May 2020 17:21:51
David James is one of the most agile goalkeepers I've ever seen, had the right build for a goalkeeper too. Obviously struggled with concentration, some of the goals we conceded from corners back then still make me cringe. There was one against Leeds in a 2-2 draw I believe where he came for the ball from a corner with his hands behind his back. Had an ok career after he left us but should have been so much more.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate. He was an excellent athlete but he had no desire to put himself out.}

3.) 05 May 2020 17:33:02
Calamity James.

4.) 05 May 2020 18:02:25
Ed01, with the likes of James, Collymore, Ruddock etc, who were here in the 90's and conducting themselves in reprehensible fashion, just how did we ended up with this lot of players who tho talented, where a complete shambles mentality-wise and lacked the grit and will to actually achieve something with the club and their careers, as a whole? Was it a case of "it's the 90's and everything was out of hand" or a case of just LFC not knowing how to sign players? Cheers, man.

{Ed001's Note - we lost Geoff Twentyman and the rest of our scouting network was just useless. A lack of investment after that meant we were left behind by the modern game.}

5.) 05 May 2020 18:46:46
I remember his first few games and thought wow we have signed a proper talent here
But for me the one thing that sticks in my mind he how he cost us in Europe against PSG
After that I never forgave him.

6.) 05 May 2020 20:30:34
Hadn’t Geoff Twentyman been gone a good while Ed, I think he departed around Kenny taking up the Player-Manager role?
There’s been growing disquiet about Everton’s rise in the mid 80s when it was felt Liverpool’s scouting had been left behind rather?
Ironically it was Graeme Souness who took him to Rangers.
It all started going wrong when we were signing Southerners lol. Though there is some truth in that!

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, that was my point we never invested after he left in a modern network.}

7.) 05 May 2020 22:34:17
Why did we take so long to replace him? I know we spent a year (or more? ) wrangling a work permit for Friedel, but that wasn't until 1997 or 98 when Jamo had been at the club since 1992 and first choice since 1994.

{Ed001's Note - because they kept hoping he would come good.}

8.) 05 May 2020 22:42:11
Secret Diary of a Liverpool Scout. a good read that.

{Ed001's Note - excellent book.}

Not football related at all this ladies and gents.
I just wanted to ask if everyone is safe and well? I think of the people in my life who are alone and worry about how they are, and it's great we have each other to talk to. I like to think we have that on this site as well
So that's it really, just hoping everyone is doing well and wishing you all the very best.

Hi in Istanbul. I feel a bit guilty responding, as where I live in Australia, things haven't changed a lot. My work has slowed a fair bit, but that has just allowed me to golf, kitesurf and do house renovations more. Our g'ment acted fairly swiftly and broadly and we are seeing the benefits, less than 85 dead.
Speaking with family back in Liverpool and things couldn't be more different unfortunately. Mum is elderly, recent heart op and now suspected pneumonia. If flights were on I'd head home, but not possible so hoping for the best.

He's out of contract in the summer and has absolutely no intention of signing a new one as per several different reports. It is of no real surprise that they are looking to cash in on him. Cracking player and a great buy for whoever he ends up getting him.

Klopp is an absolute disgrace and needs to be severely punished for continuously breaking the rules. Everyone rightfully is jumping down the throats of FSG for acting so poorly, Klopp does equally the same time and time again and it should not be tolerated. Great manager he is, his behaviour is disgusting and it either needs to stop now or he needs to go. The manager must act professionally on and off the pitch, what he does off the pitch is simply unacceptable and clearly the man can not learn. I accept this will be a very unpopular opinion but enough is enough.

James Pearce like the majority of his peers guess and create stories to sell them. We have the best source on club movements on this site for absolutely zero and Ed002 gave us an update only 2 days ago. How often does he let us down ey? Scrap the clickbait money makers.

Liverpool players classed as homegrown. Those with * are trained by the club
Keheller *
Trent *
Williams *
Gomez
Phillips
Ox
Hendo
Milner
Jones *
Brewster *
Wilson *
Elliott
If a playeris aged under 21 he does not need to be registered. We've close to 30 players in our squad and can only register 25 with 8 being home grown, 4 of which must be trained by theclub to be registered in the European squad. We certainly need to move some players on. No point me listing the squad, all fans should know that anyway.

What a fantastic response Wassa, and no that isn't a sarcastic comment. I would have said almost the exact same thing, absolutely fantastic thought process mate.

No issue with that result today, in fact very happy all things considered. Not going to slate any of our players but I will massively praise them. 3 midfielders that have hardly played, best centre back in the world missing
Referee and VAR yet again are an absolute embarrassment. That's a point gained tonight and a point I'm not sure many if any other side gets with the players missing.

Which Bilbao player injured what Liverpool player yesterday? If you're referring to Robertson he twisted his ankle which could happen in training or even walking down the road, should the players stop training and in general walking?

Couldn't get him off the pitch at full time, he literally clapped to the crowd for a good 5 solid minutes. There is a lad living his absolute dream.
