All you idiots that were calling for Klopp’s head (Harry and the like) hang your heads in shame. Yes we will have bad spells and results but this team is on to something really special.

Ings n things

1.) 06 Dec 2017 22:08:05
Agree somewhat. BUT let's not use a good result to poke at each other. Let's just enjoy it!

If we'd lost 7-0, we wouldn't be happy if the glass half empty brigade came on here shouting their mouths off. I've been in your corner, and I love your positivity, Ings. Stay humble though buddy.

2.) 06 Dec 2017 22:15:52
Yeah am with mk there let's keep the positivity going ings without needing to call others idiots pal, but your entitled to be over joyed buddy.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 22:16:08
I can stay humble MK but it’s frustrating when our own fans can’t wait for us to lose so they can say I told you so. Harry is the worst culprit closely followed by Mr Dennis.
How many 7-0 or 7-1 scorelines do you see in the CL? Not many! And we’ve done it in 1 season! Just give Klopp time to get his players in defensively and we will be a force. We already are!

4.) 06 Dec 2017 22:28:47
100% with you there ings al say it agen we as good as any other team in Europe on our day, the speed and accuracy that we breakaway with is simply breathtaking mate.

5.) 06 Dec 2017 22:45:34
Opinions and frustration are often hard to contain on the back of a poor result. We are all on this journey together let's enjoy the good times which are all the sweeter for the bad ones experienced.

Onwards and upwards.

6.) 06 Dec 2017 23:17:28
I am definitely a glass half empty, I prefer realist. let's not go overboard. You don't want people coming on here after an average performance saying this and that. LFC were great today but its a very long season and most of the cracks are still there. The cracks are just not getting tested by the opposition at the moment.

I actually started typing post on Wednesday about how unlucky we’ve been this season, which I think we have on the whole. Then Migs decides to take Diouf out when he’s clean through on goal and only gets a yellow. Hopefully that’s our luck turning I don’t know how he got away with it. Glad I didn’t send that post on Wednesday though I would’ve got hammered! 😂.

Ings n things

1.) 01 Dec 2017 09:00:01
To be fair we've had our fair share of bad luck this season so it is nice to be on the right end of a dodgy decision for a change. Though i don't think the ball went out for our first goal at all. The whole ball has to cross the line and it clearly didn't.

Still don't think that Mignolet decision makes up for the amount of stone wall penalties we've been denied this season or the amount of offside goals linesmen seem to allow past us!

Having said that, other teams fans probably think they're hard up too. It might just be a football fan thing 😂.

2.) 01 Dec 2017 10:16:12
Just double checked those figures after what happened yesterday and the exact numbers were 12 goals and 22 assists!

How many central/ box to box midfielders in world football contribute directly to 34 goals across 2 seasons?

I do agree though that unless he can prove his heel is fully recovered and rediscover that kind of form in his natural role, then he needs to be phased out or at least accept a lesser role in the squad.

It is a massive shame what injuries can do to players!

3.) 01 Dec 2017 12:11:05
MK, don't tell this to Hendo's detractors as they will throw a strop. They can't see all the stats you just mentioned there cos it is Hendo's. If those were the nos. of a player they liked, they would be yelling that said player should be signed. Now cos it's Hendo, they will all say, he passes sideways too much as if he's the only player to ever do that whereas stars like Xavi, Pep and Busquets made a career out of doing that.

I do agree with you that Hendo is trying to play his way out of injury, focus on his game and lead the team. It is clearly affecting him as he seems to not be able to accomplish any of those things right now. He needs support cos we know what he has done for us in the past BUT that is falling on deaf ears for many as tearing him down seems easier than lifting him up.

4.) 01 Dec 2017 12:34:09
It's sad how fickle fans can be BRover. 4 years ago Henderson getting suspended was almost universally accepted as a major factor in us losing the title. Yet, now he is apparently an average player who was never good enough 🤔 go figure.

5.) 01 Dec 2017 17:18:57
If his injury and fitness levels are hindering from playing well. Should he be captain and be picked to lead the charge. I surely don't think. so.

6.) 02 Dec 2017 13:41:25
That was four years ago, I’m sure we are allowed to comment when a players playing capability has declined
a considerable amount.
I know he’s carrying an injury and his playing isn’t great. But for us to challenge and be seen as ‘contenders’ we have to stop being so worried to piss of a player who has had one good season for us since he’s been here.
We play a lot better when Henderson doesn’t play. I personally think. He wouldn’t get into any of the top 10 clubs midfields let alone top 4.

26 Nov 2017 09:22:40
Am I being over critical here or should Migs have saved that last night? Especially considering he got a hand to it? I’m really not sure if we just highlight Migs because of his other errors or if that was poor goalkeeping again.

Ings n things

1.) 26 Nov 2017 10:04:24
Your being over critical mate.

2.) 26 Nov 2017 10:10:31
Was wondering the same thing i. e was it a case of a fluke goal that a top keeper would not have kept out anyway or not. Its hard to be objective considering migs' performance for us these past few years but at the same time, Im not sure he could do much. Was he too far to his left when willian got the ball?

just an observation, I thought migs on a number of games seems to be drawn to whichever side the ball is, whereas i think keepers like cech or courtois seem to stay more central. Then again I'm not a pro footballer so wouldn't know. Any former keepers or coaches can offer their take?

3.) 26 Nov 2017 10:43:27
If he was an inch taller he would have saved it.

Possibly if he got a slightly better leap he may have got to it with stronger fingers, but it was a pretty weird trajectory and he was trotting backwards. I don't think it was Migs fault as such, but still a soft goal whichever way you look at it.

4.) 26 Nov 2017 11:44:36
I'm a goalkeeper who's has been critical of migs over the years. But it's been harsh on him for that. Was a fluke goal and probably the only place he would have scored was in that top corner. Just got to take it on the chin 1 off goal. Think we needed fresher legs on the pitch a lot earlier to close the ball down quicker and for counter attack.

5.) 26 Nov 2017 13:34:53
Marius would save it.

6.) 26 Nov 2017 13:45:07
I think mignolets athleticism isn't the best, he is incredibly slow by foot and I think with a better jump he would have saved it - would have backed Karius too.

7.) 26 Nov 2017 14:09:20
Ward would catch it he dominates the box.

8.) 26 Nov 2017 15:06:22
Azk has just nailed it in the 2nd paragraph of his post. Migs gets drawn to the area the cross may be coming from which leaves him too much ground to cover when the cross does go to the back post. Already he has NO footwork nor athleticism (two areas where he is not a patch on Karius) to begin with, it is an impossible task. Look at the goal we concede vs Burnley and you will see the exact same thing. On the goal kick and the ball goes wide to TAA, Migs wonders to the edge of his 6 (for reasons I still don't get) leaving a huge gap on the other side. When the ball is won by Brady over TAA, he has to (again) shuffle back and when Arfield takes the shot, his feet are not set hence, has no chance to save the shot.

Same happened yesterday. Many GK would have recognized that Willian can't shoot from where he is as Klavan did his job well to force him far wide and no angle for a shot. Any GK would anticipate that a cross is coming hence, shuffle back to the center of the goal to get in position for a back post cross. Migs does not do that. The ball is crossed and he moves 2 steps (yeah two steps) and then leaps for the ball. He makes contact but not enough. Had he shuffled his feet quicker from the off, he would have saved that. It was a fluke goal I agree BUT a GK has to give himself every chance of saving a shot and Migs NEVER does that.

9.) 26 Nov 2017 15:08:07
Klavan was very slow, letting William go past him with ease, someone mentioned that Moreno could have done better, but he had I think Pedro out wide to keep an eye on,
just a lucky goal, Klopp needs to think about whether it was the right game to make so many changes, and next time to make his subs a bit earlier,
time to look at the next game, and 3 points .

10.) 26 Nov 2017 17:37:58
Happy, you are wrong. Willian was running at goal full speed and it was Klavan who got his arse out wide to force him wide and cut out the angle for a shot and left Willian with no other option BUT to hit a blind cross without any accuracy at all and without looking. Job done by him and the defence. I did not say that. Lampard and Rio said so on BT Sport are are they mugs as well?

Pls, enuff with always picking on the likes of Klavan, Hendo, Moreno as scapegoats as Klavan and the defence did NOTHING wrong on that play. It's getting old. Klavan was solid yesterday and the defence played solidly well and kept Hazard and Morata off the score sheet. The mindless scapegoating needs to stop.

22 Oct 2017 19:42:19
I may be in the minority here but I actually think this may end up being a positive result for us. They were nowhere near 4-1 better than us but for 2 players. Mignolet and Lovren. Hopefully Klopp sees that and acts accordingly. Ward in goal for me, Gomez and Matip CB, Moreno/ Robertson left back with TAA right back. You simply can’t concede goals like that at this level. It’s completely unacceptable. Migs and Lovren are good players but weak mentally and we need strong men at the back.

Ings n things

1.) 22 Oct 2017 19:54:15
Migs and Lovren are not good players.

2.) 22 Oct 2017 20:00:17
Ings good post I was thinking the same thing but with the addition of Karius or ward.

3.) 22 Oct 2017 20:06:17
Come on, Ings! Teams know how to beat us, and if that involves changing their game to sit-back letting us ponce around with the ball, so they can then catch us on the break, then so be it.

Its an example of how the Tottenham manager can change his team, unlike Mr Klopp who hasn't quute grasped that yet, and never will in my opinion.

4.) 22 Oct 2017 20:10:23
kloop slammed lovren and mignolet after the game bit late now when he consantly picks them week in week out. i said it in an earlier post that's 2 wins in 10 games Leicester and maribor and he's had 5 Windows to sort this out he thinks he can play through every defence we play against and score 3.or 4 but it ain't working i would give WARD and solanke a run of game solanke gives you a different option up front he good in the air too. as for lovren and mignolet leave them in the changing room and throw the key away there useless.

5.) 22 Oct 2017 20:12:20
Lovren is playing with a headful of painkillers. It shouldn't be happening. They slow down reactions and make you oblivious to danger. Not good for a cb. Matip header wasn't much better. Matip is good enough as back up cb the other two should be sold, The goalie needs to be karius or ward, probably karius. The lad kept a clean sheet in mid week, it is ridiculous to replace a goalie who doesn't concede. Two players who come under constant criticism moreno and hendo were our best players along with salah.

The only small positive I saw was Aoc actually looked pretty good. A couple of times I thought it was coutinio who had beat his man and made space for himself but it was the ox. He is going to prove a good signing I'm sure of it.

Not good enough today. Spurs done us pretty easily. Sadly we didn't play that bad, bar a few errors but we were still well beat. Fair play to kane, he will be playing for Madrid next year I reckon. Although I have this feeling he will be in a utd shirt one day.

6.) 22 Oct 2017 20:14:46
You must have watched a completely different match as they could have easily been 4-0 up after 20 minutes. if you are thinking about the last 30 minutes where coutinho and salah drew good saves from Lloris, they were up 4-1, they let us play, they were not chasing a goal. the game was already won because they know they won't concede more than maximum another goal. They have good defenders and a decent GK, we are miles off Tottenham, that is just a depressing realization. Papering over the cracks will do nothing but help other teams.

7.) 22 Oct 2017 20:38:26
Actually Lovren is not playing with painkillers or anything like that, he has been totally fit for 2 weeks now and been training normally, that's just his level with Klopps tactics. Lovrens own words btw!

8.) 22 Oct 2017 21:14:10
Fair enough. Lovren was piss poor. There is no communication. Gomez should step up and kane is offside for first goal.

What is all this love in with Davies of Everton? I just don’t get it. If he was at Liverpool he’d be a regular in the U23s but that’s about it. Bang average and that’s Everton’s problem they’ve over rated very average players. Keane, Rooney and Sigurdsson are even worse.

Ings n things

{Ed025's Note - davies is a great young talent ings, but you probably think hendo and wiji are class so its not worth debating it mate..

1.) 22 Oct 2017 14:05:53
Can you share your glasses Ings and things 😄😄😄. You are wasting your time Ed025. The lad is quality and I even had an argument with Ed01 on the player a long time ago.

{Ed025's Note - im with you harry, hes a very good youg player mate..

2.) 22 Oct 2017 14:05:55
Isn’t this the Liverpool page?

Who cares about Davies?

{Ed025's Note - its also a banter page KR, dont be so insular and defensive mate..

3.) 22 Oct 2017 14:20:17
I think the lad is decent, but that's as far as it goes for me, each to their own but point is, he has plenty of time to improve, he's still very young, I'd imagine him been quality in a couple of years time.

4.) 22 Oct 2017 14:37:21
Is he better than Woodburn in an attacking role? No. Is he better than Arnold in a wide role? No. Is he better than Chirivella in a holding role? No. Is he better than Grujic or Ejaria playing box to box? Debatable but I'm still saying no.

He's over rated. Everton did this with Baxter, then they did it with Barkley, and now it is Davies turn 👀 he wouldn't even get in our u23's ahead of Virtue in my opinion. He looks good at Everton because he's currently the only player putting in 100% every week. That doesn't make him good; in fact it should be a prerequisite of every professional footballer.

{Ed001's Note - I disagree, no idea what planet Harry is on because I like Davies a lot. He is an excellent centre mid being poorly utilised by a crap manager.}

5.) 22 Oct 2017 14:20:30
There's always one Ed.

{Ed025's Note - aint there just barry..

6.) 22 Oct 2017 14:36:35
You could say the same about Grujic ed25 or countless other young players in the U23 league. The lad is ok but just ok. I’d put Barkley way ahead of him at the same age and look how that’s panned out.

{Ed025's Note - im not saying hes a world beater ings, just a talented young player who is learning his trade and doing very nicely thanks..

7.) 22 Oct 2017 14:43:26
I rest my case ed. Davies just watched first Ozil then Ramsey run off him and Arsenal score.

{Ed025's Note - then he chase lacazette all the way and blocked him...its football..

8.) 22 Oct 2017 14:46:47
Maybe next week Ed, when he's playing under a different manager, he'll have a chance to change my opinion! 😂 I've never seen him at youth level, but every senior game I've watched him he's looked rash, had a poor first touch, made poor passing decisions, and his shooting tactic is consistently just "blast it as hard as i can".

He definitely works hard and puts himself about but I'm yet to see any shred of craft, intelligence or technique. I'll watch him again when Koeman is gone and give him a blank slate to change my mind though, because you are usually a sound judge of a player.

{Ed001's Note - he tries too hard but he has quality there mate. Put him next to some quality in midfield and he would shine. Unfortunately he is playing next to a headless chicken s***kicker in Gueye, who is ridiculously overrated.}

9.) 22 Oct 2017 14:52:21
Davies looked good last season as well we Everton were doing quite well. He is decent but no world beater in my opinion. Its always difficult to guess how well a player would do in a better team (which in nearly the whole premier league at the minute) . Maybe Everton is his level, maybe he could move to a better team like Watford in the future. Who knows!

{Ed025's Note - im not biting irish.. :)

10.) 22 Oct 2017 15:07:31
Davis is one of their brightest spot and MK you are just laying named for the sake for moaning.
Why on earth would the kid be better than Woodburn who is not a CM in million years! Comparing a CM to a playmaker Wow! Now that’s proper crap.

He is 19 and no player at 19 would be a world beater Jesus Christ! The lad has all the quality to become a top top player and I hope so. Your opinion shouldn’t be based on the color of the shirt you wear!

11.) 22 Oct 2017 15:13:36
Sorry Ed I really thought Everton would get a draw.

{Ed025's Note - i wish barry, we are poor mate and there is no sign of improvement mate..

12.) 22 Oct 2017 15:34:51
That’s the whole point Harry, he’s one of their brightest talents and he’s not very good. Says it all really.

13.) 22 Oct 2017 15:37:37
They looked decent after the first goal. If they'd lasted until half time it might have been different. I imagine koeman is saying his goodbye's as I write this.

14.) 22 Oct 2017 15:44:52
Did Koeman really just say they had a good start in the game?! They scored with their one shot but arsenal had 17 shots in the first half! This idiot has to go surely? I hope not because I’m loving this but if they keep him now they deserve the championship.

15.) 22 Oct 2017 15:19:55
I’ve made a point of watching him in the second half Ed and my opinion hasn’t changed one bit. He seems an honest lad but he’s done nothing on the ball and is completely unaware of what’s going on around him. He just runs around a lot which is more than can be said for Sigurdsson to be fair.

{Ed025's Note - its unfair to judge him in that present side mate..

16.) 22 Oct 2017 19:19:05
He is the type of player who goes unnoticed. Like henderson does. They work very hard and you need them. Davies is getting Pl game time at a young age. Of course he is good enough, people who coach know about football. He didn't break into the first team because he has blonde hair. Or because he is a mason. He did it by being good enough. That or he won the raffle.

17.) 22 Oct 2017 20:04:51
If he played for us you'd think he was quality lads! Going to be a very good player I think.

Spoon and Ed2 I really think you are missing the point here. It wasn’t so much about Coutinho as about a statement to players and other teams that we won’t be held to ransom or bullied by other clubs.

Having just built a new stand and got back into the CL it just sends out the wrong message to the other players and to the world if we go and sell our best players again.

If we’d sold Couts then we give the green light to all the teams in Europe that they can cherry pick our best players. We also then tell all our best players that they can go if they kick up a bit of a stink.

We had no choice but to hold firm in my opinion for the good of the club as a whole.

Klopp will be here for years if he doesn’t get fed up with the moaners and leave. We all knew this was a long term project and that there will be ups and downs. This, ladies and gentlemen is a down. Stick with it and we’ll come out the other end better for it with a united club and fans and once Klopp gets the right players in a much better side. Keep going the way we are and he’ll leave and we’ll up the creek without a paddle. Anyone who thinks he wants to play the keeper and defence we have at the moment and can’t see their limitations is an idiot. Of course he can! He just hasn’t been able to get the right players in yet to change it. Sunday may force his hand though to try something different untill he can get the right players in.

I think crap is a bit harsh as you say Sami but I don’t know why people say he’s any better than Hendo. He has good games but doesn’t seem to have the discipline or tactical nouse to be a top player. That may come but for the moment he shouldn’t be in our first eleven when everyone’s fit. He will be a good player but not a great player. Good luck to the lad I hope it goes well for him.

The biggest game in the premier league between England's 2 most decorated clubs. It's a massive game as both teams are hugely supported worldwide so they are of course after the audience. I understand it but still don't think it's right that just because of our worldwide draw we get pushed from pillar to post. Could be worse though we could be a team no one wants to watch like you muppets!

{Ed025's Note - your right ings, but if we were on tv i would hate to think that "the peoples club" supporters would bawl their eyes out like 10 year old girls saying "why is it always us", "its not fair","boo hoo"..grow a set will ya mate..

I don't think he wants preferential treatment ed just to be treated the same as everyone else. There's no doubt it's a disadvantage to play early on the Saturday after an international break and we had it after the last International break so why make us do it again? So why put us at a disadvantage twice in a month when everyone else gets extra time to prepare? It's a valid point.
I can see why you don't care you'd have us playing on the Friday morning at 6am if you could but for us it doesn't seem fair.
Just because we are one of the biggest clubs in Europe and people want to see us play our games are moved to inconvenient times. But you just wouldn't understand that would you ;-)

Ings n things

{Ed025's Note - "were" one of the biggest seems more apt ings, because of the money sky are putting into the game they have the right to decide when clubs play, its a big game david at home to goliath and the target audience will be mainly asia, thats just the way it is im afraid mate..

You forget the 2007/ 08 season Alonso spent a lot of time on the bench and Rafa wanted to replace him with Barry! I think when the arse fell out of Liverpool there was more than just losing Alonso going on. Great player and I loved him but he was certainly no Gerrard!

Interesting read Abba and I too have tried to watch a bit of Leipzig to see him play a bit. Like you say though they play a somewhat strange system and I don’t think the players around him are of the quality of Salah, Mane, Firmino and dare I say it Couts. With the technically gifted players we have the little flicks are more likely to come off. Also he creates space by bursting through the lines which will in turn draw defenders out which makes a ball in behind to our pacey players a much easier ball. You’ve also got the ‘is he really trying’ question which no one knows the answer to.
I also think it’s difficult for any player when they say they are leaving. The fans are quicker to jump on mistakes and criticise as they want to justify why they don’t need you anyway. As a lot have with Couts on here and other sites myself included I think it’s only natural. You split up with your bird and you say ‘I never loved her anyway’ when all along it’s tearing you up inside.
I think I’ve come to the conclusion I’ll just wait and see. I can’t believe how much Ox has improved and is improving since we signed him so whatever Naby has I’m sure we will see him improve hugely over the next few years. Being that many people I’ve spoken to tell me he was the best midfielder in the bundesliga last season that makes me excited to see what will come from him.

To be fair I thought we defended exceptionally well against Everton at the weekend. We were strong and aggressive and didn’t give them a sniff. Just one circumstance that went against us gave them a point. The forward players were more to blame than the defenders on Sunday.

It’s so nice to see someone saying exactly what I was thinking about the pen! Lovren has 2 arms, one on each side. Where is he supposed to put them when someone jumps into him like that? If he gets them out of the way the 2 bodies clash and he could risk serious injury! I would also add though Ed the speed in which the ref pointed to the spot was ridiculous. He was pointing to the spot almost before Tom Daley had hit the ground! He couldn’t wait to give it. I also agree about the amount of times that happens in a game. The Salah one you mentioned and also Solanke in the build up to the Mane chance. When bodies come together you naturally put your arm up to protect yourself. It’s a world away from a straight arm push in the back. Calvert-Lewin was shameful though but he got away with it so you could say well done. I hope his team mates aren’t giving him too many pats on the back though he’ll be flying around all over the place!

So Supermane, do you think we should ditch Mane for his mistake? Or Salah for his? They were to blame for that yesterday just as much as Lovren. Mane probably more so. I’m not Lovren’s biggest fan but he was unlucky with that yesterday. The kid’s stepped in front of him and slowed to get contact before Tom Daleying it with a triple Pike and nailed the landing!
