My best friend is a Chilean restaurateur in Miami who in turn is good friends with Alexis Sanchez' uncle (who is a Miami resident) . The uncle has said Sanchez has verbally agreed to join Arsenal. They are finalizing contractual details which are a formality. The uncle also said Liverpool were desperate to sign him but he Sanchez was never interested in playing for us. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we have to put this snub into perspective. He's only one player and maybe Rogers has a viable alternative. I hope so. let's congratulate the Gooners on their capture and move on

Eds 001 & 002. If the Lallana to Liverpool goes through will we still push to buy Shaqiri also? I really hope so or am I just being a greedy and delusional sod? Enjoy the big fight tonight everyone.

{Ed001's Note - sorry no idea.}

I really don't understand the thought process of most people on this site! An alarming number of you are convinced we are going to sign Balotelli and Sanchez based on hearsay and lazy Journalism even after eds002 has said we have no interest. Yet when eds 002 says we may have an interest in La Liga's goalkeeper of the Year Levant's Keylar Navas nobody bats an eyelid! i'm seriously baffled. eds 002 can you shed some more light on Liverpool's 'interest' in Navas please?

Jari_Lit

{Ed002's Note - Levante goalkeeper Keylor Navas is an option for Atletico Madrid. Addfitionally, Marseille, Wigan and Everton have shown interest in the player in recent months, but the strong interest from Milan has now gone. I am aware that Liverpool had the player watched earlier in the year, but a move to simply sit on the bench at Liverpool is not at all likely - he would want commitments about playing time. Levante would like to keep him but it might be difficult.}

Good morning from Miami eds 001. i'm coming to Dubai on business soon would you like to have a bevvy with me sometime? I'm staying with my cousin who lives on the creek. If you are too busy or simply don't want too no probs.

{Ed001's Note - depends when it is mate, my daughter is over for a few weeks from next week, so I will be busy then. Though August after she goes is not normally a good time to arrange anything! Email me through the contact form to let me know what dates you are over and we will arrange something.}

I have a friend in Germany who has played youth football with Emre Can and he is bemused as to why there is not a plethora of teams chasing Emre's signature. My buddy reckons that Emre is made for the Premiership and the versatility people talk about is priceless. He can play the Lucas role, the Gerrard role (when he used to make rampaging runs) and left back and play these respective roles to a very high standard. He reckons that if Emre does come to Liverpool and it's a big IF due to the nature of his contract he will probably replace Lucas. Apparently his game is about tenacity and power. I would be sad to see Lucas go as he has a first class attitude but how will we financially accommodate Lucas, Can, Gerrard, Henderson, Joe Allen, Alberto, Sterling, Coutinho?

Dear Eds002 if I gave you some of my moonshine and got you rip-roaringly inebriated then introduced you to a couple of attractive sisters with self esteem issues would you tell me the reason why Lakaku fell out with Chelsea and why Moreno isn't going to sign for Chelsea? I never usually pander to gossip but I need to know! lol

Hey Eds 001. Just a belated thankyou for your developed reply to my question the other day with regards to Woy and the Evans tenure. I read today that Evans tried to but Batistuta to play alongside Robbie. Now that would have been something, even an out of date Batigoal and Fowler in his pomp would have been sensational. I just wished Evans had bought a decent defender or two we would have won the title. It's a shame we didn't get Dessailley but saying that we could of ended up with Winston Bogarde.

Jari_Lit

{Ed001's Note - Evans kept trying to buy defenders, Moores would not release the money for them. He even told Roy that that the pot was empty and he couldn't have any more players, just a few days before he went and signed Collymore for 8.5m! Roy asked him to sign a defender and was told we couldn't afford it, but then gets given a striker.}
