A mate of mine been up to anfield today for the stadium tour and speaking to the guy up there he asked him about rumours of coutinho going to psg and he was told it was basically a load of bull and that they would have to offer 60 mill plus for the club to consider it! Just passing on what I was told earlier so don't shoot the messenger lol.

Jasondav88

1.) 03 Jun 2016 18:59:56
Old Skool rumour 😎.

2.) 03 Jun 2016 19:10:41
Jasondav88, The messenger always ends up with the arrows in his back just look at the old cowboy and red indian films mostly in black and white.

3.) 03 Jun 2016 19:52:13
Because when they have board room meetings, I'm sure they invite the tour guides up for a nose haha.

4.) 03 Jun 2016 19:59:50
Didn't think they would be doing stadium tours with all the building work going on?

5.) 03 Jun 2016 22:15:39
Designed for the BlueNoses - building work and the place looking "unfinished"'makes them feel, comfortable whilst giving them a day out of Goodison.

Very neighbourly.

Sky sports reporting were some way off the texeira deal, do u expect us to get it done in time ed's? Thanks in advance!

Jasondav88

{Ed001's Note - there is no way of knowing, a price has been set, which we are some way off, but even if we do agree to pay it, there is no guarantee the owner will not just increase it like he did twice to Chelsea.}

1.) 26 Jan 2016 06:19:41
This deal has got a week to go and it has got shades of konoplyanka all over it . The lad has said he wants to come to Liverpool but I just don't think that will be enough . We won't offer the 35 mill and if we do as ed1 has said I suspect the goalposts would simply be moved to prevent the deal happening . I hope I'm wrong.

2.) 26 Jan 2016 06:49:31
Surely ed why are we taking this much time of the window of its that doubtfull mate shouldn't we of moved onto someone else by now?

{Ed001's Note - I agree, but I am not involved in making the decisions. It seems we like to waste time on forlorn hopes just because the player is keen.}

3.) 26 Jan 2016 07:16:14
And even if we do get a deal done we will have over paid and stretched our purse strings yet again.

Could it be a case of as its potentially Klopps first big signing the club want to try there upmost to get it done?

4.) 26 Jan 2016 07:19:55
As someome mentioned above, it stinks of Konoplyanka. You would think Ayre had learnt from that and would move on to someone else.
Ayre's inability to get a deal over the line or inability to move on has cost us in numerous windows. At what point do the club consider changing him?

5.) 26 Jan 2016 07:24:31
Maybe it's not that often a top player is that keen, so that's why all eggs etc.

If it were me, the (apparent) £28m, I'd try £18m on Ter Stegan and see if Leicester want to double their outlay on Kante at £8m, leaving £2m on a loan fee for a striker, maybe Remy.

6.) 26 Jan 2016 07:47:25
£18m on a good but fairly unproven keeper, £8m for a key squad member of a team fighting for the title with no need to see and £2m loan fee for a fairly average striker who can't get a game in a team desperate for forwards. Awesome.

In regards to Tex, I quite like like the idea of going hard for the player you want, as long as you don't then switch to a second or third choice last minute and are willing to promote from within or work with what you have. What I hate is spending so long on outside options and then panic buying when they don't come off.

7.) 26 Jan 2016 07:57:06
Myself I don't think we will be held to ransom for more more I hope we tell them to do one. The whole world of football is just so greedy it really p***** me off.

16.) 26 Jan 2016 08:06:26
Doesn't this approach simply introduce three more large salaries that tend to dwarf the transfer fee paid over time, increasing the debt?

17.) 26 Jan 2016 11:30:19
Of course it does NeilP but a lot of people just seem to be blissfully ignorant to it.

18.) 26 Jan 2016 11:42:07
Is anyone else fairly happy to just wait until summer to get any transfers done?

We slowly but surely are having our squad return to fitness. obviously it would be great to get teixera, BUT at that price for someone unproven outside the ukranian league, i would prefer to wait until the end of the season.

Ed's do you think we will see more of the portuguese teixera as in both exeter games he didn't give a bad account of himself!

{Ed001's Note - I expect to see a bit more of him in cup games at least, he is on the bench in case we get a decent lead in a match to get him on and give him a run out but we haven't done that yet.}

19.) 26 Jan 2016 12:42:40
Ter Stegen has played and won champions league. Unproven? Think not.

{Ed023's Note - Djimi "slidetackles" Traore?}

What's the score with Sturridge any of the eds know if he's fit for tomorrow?

Jasondav88

{Ed001's Note - it is doubtful mate. 95% chance of him missing out.}

Any truth to rumours about us trying to get moussa sissoko from Newcastle?

Jasondav88

1.) 21 Jun 2015 13:35:34
Another mid? Of course because it seems the BR and the TC are allergic to signing players for other positions where we need help.

A former BBC journalist, Ben smith has said our transfer activity should start to gather momentum next week. The eds have any idea IF this is true?

Jasondav88

{Ed002's Note - I am not even sure what it means.}

1.) 08 Jul 2017 17:20:28
Like he would no anything. I think he is meaning ed we will look at monitor or bid for players. Seens as its Transfer Window I could have had the same stab in the dark as this guy who clearly gets paid much more than me.

{Ed002's Note - That clears it up for me, thanks. I will look forward to the momentum of Liverpool look at monitor next week. I am sure it will be a blast.}

2.) 08 Jul 2017 17:35:10
Brillant reply Ed002.the only momentum that could happen in actual fact is the series of steps players will be taking in their pre-season training. there's no momentum as far as transfer activity is concerned.

3.) 08 Jul 2017 17:49:05
I tweeted at him asking whether he was talking about linear or angular momentum.
Surprisingly I haven't got any reply yet.

4.) 08 Jul 2017 18:00:00
Ok lol as NK an VVD don't seem to be happening any idea who we are currently looking at?

{Ed002's Note - The targets we know of have been discussed or were included in the Sharkopod.}

5.) 08 Jul 2017 18:13:40
ben smith is best journalist going.

6.) 08 Jul 2017 19:42:01
We're probably "preparing to bid"

7.) 08 Jul 2017 19:50:07
Salah and Solanke weren't mentioned as targets.

{Ed002's Note - Salah wasn't a target - he was the third choice after Brandt who was the target. This has been covered. For someone like you who doesn't like reading the same thing over and over, why don't you search before asking something that has already been asked?}

8.) 08 Jul 2017 20:44:36
If Salah wasn't even a target initially then I think we should take it as a positive for the scouting process that they were able to pull a really good alternative out of the bag when the main target failed.

Out of curiosity, who was the second target behind Brandy- because I don't remember another name being discussed?

03 Apr 2016 12:11:44
Gotta admit I'm looking forward to next season already, the club needs to back klopp in the next few transfer markets which I'm sure they will. He has definately improved us since he came in because we were abysmal the first few months b4 he took over, I know we've still had a few shocking moments but with a few signings and a full pre season who knows what might happen! Let's all get behind them and be positive cumon the pool!

Jasondav88

1.) 03 Apr 2016 13:25:28
He's done a fantastic job of setting s a structure and style of play, feels like we're starting to find some form of baseline from which to play from now. High hopes for a too4 spot next season and if we can do that, you never know.

2.) 03 Apr 2016 15:45:05
If we could shore up the defence we would be very good. We always let petals back Into the game, you almost know once we score it's only a matter of time before they do.

23 Dec 2015 13:43:29
Any of the ed's know much about this grujic? He good enough for now or one for the future? Cheers.

Jasondav88

{Ed001's Note - not really sure, from what I have been told more the future, though some think he might be ready now.}

1.) 23 Dec 2015 14:20:11
Same age and similar player to Dele Ali he doesn't seem to be doing too bad!

2.) 23 Dec 2015 14:28:06
Is he similar to Alli? I don't see that at all.

3.) 23 Dec 2015 14:47:45
Alli is apowerful runner and box to box player; Grujic seems to have more of a languid style of play.

4.) 23 Dec 2015 14:58:24
Based on the youtube clips (I know, unreliable), he is big, strong, a bit box to box and has a fierce shot on him. He has decent dribbling skills and movement. Apart from that, only time will tell. If anybody can know if he`s ready for the now instead of the future, it would be Klopp.

5.) 23 Dec 2015 15:48:10
Someone mentioned that he reminded them of javi martinez pre biesla if that means anything too you ed1.

6.) 23 Dec 2015 16:14:49
He is a holding midfielder who could carry the ball forward well. He has a good passing range and has goals in him.
I believe he would take up Lucas place.

7.) 23 Dec 2015 19:11:14
Not a bloody clue. But I didn't know who Lewandowski was either.

8.) 23 Dec 2015 22:50:44
Perhaps somewhere in between then, next season or the season after.

14 Dec 2015 23:12:24
Pleased to say I went to the game yesterday first time going to anfield ( I live in Swansea btw) and loved every minute of it atmosphere was amazing only disappointment was the result, have to say tho Milner is absolute garbage and not a big fan of lallana if I'm honest paid way over the odds for him! need a new keeper Aswell.

Jasondav88

1.) 15 Dec 2015 08:30:29
Who does this Aswell play for - I've never heard of him! Mignolet made a blunder over the weekend but so did de Gea who has a far better reputation. It's the same old story about the goalkeeper but we have seen a lot more blunders through the years by the likes of Skrtel and even the 'mighty' Carragher. Every missed attempt at goal that the forward players make is basically a blunder. Had Benteke scored that early chance against Newcastle then I have no doubt that the opposition would have collapsed and Liverpool won comfortably. What annoys me about Mignolet is the fact that he is unable to set up any attack. He normally interchanges two or three passes with the backs and is then forced to kick the ball, nine times out of ten into touch. There are several other players who we should be rid of before Mignolet. I personally believe that we haven't had a great goalkeeper since Ray Clemence. Even Reina made a lot of mistakes in his last couple of seasons.

{Ed001's Note - you seriously think Grobs wasn't a great keeper? If so then you clearly have no idea and we can just ignore your whole post as you know absolutely nothing about goalkeeping.}

2.) 15 Dec 2015 08:57:09
Reina was a far better keeper than migs as was grobellar, westerveld, jersey dudek etc. Its not that difficult to be a competent keeper, its just that migs doesn't help himself. Should we keep him, yes we have no other options and no money to replace him. Should we keep him if we get in champs league, yes but as an understudy to a better keeper. I suspect we are waiting to see how ward develops before splashing money we might not need to spend.

3.) 15 Dec 2015 11:45:31
Who does this Aswell play for I've never heard of him haha really mate? Stupid comment! Mignolet not good enough for Liverpool simple as since he's played for us he's made more errors leading to goals than any other goalkeeper in the prem, get another keeper in and use migs as back up!

4.) 15 Dec 2015 12:23:13
Grobs won 13 major trophies and was ever present for about 8 seasons.

Not great? You're having a laugh!

5.) 15 Dec 2015 12:43:33
Great player but let's say ethically sketchy,

6.) 15 Dec 2015 15:22:17
Ron Keague, although I agree that Grobs was a great keeper.

Victor Valdes has an unimaginable amount of trophies to his name, and he's probably one of the most abysmal goalkeepers ever grace the field. He is simply horrendous in every aspect of his game.

7.) 15 Dec 2015 16:15:06
Jason - the Aswell comment was a joke - I know it should be 'as well' but it was a comment on your illiteracy (who is not an Italian goalkeeper by the way) . As for Ed001 - you can't ignore the whole post as you have already read it by the time you come to the comment about Clemence. Grobbelaar was very good (which was enough at the time) but couldn't be considered great.

{Ed001's Note - I can ignore it as it is pointless discussing it with someone who knows so little about the art of goalkeeping.}

8.) 15 Dec 2015 16:17:35
I bet he never saw Grobbs play neither and just mouthing off something he heard from a friend. Mingo should be replaced ASAP with Bogdan now and with a new keeper in the summercos his errors are killing us at the moment.

9.) 15 Dec 2015 17:28:01
You'd have to know zilch about goalies to think Grabbitlar wasn't great.

He was fantastic and he made things easy for the back four.

10.) 15 Dec 2015 23:13:43
Hi redohio - I did actually see Grobbelaar - I saw him on Brookside way back in 1994! We are starting matches trailing by a goal at the present time and this is not all the fault of the goalkeeper. There are a lot of issues that have to be sorted out by sorting out the defence and midfielders also (Aswell)! ) have to take responsibity for attempting o score goals. I will also say that we have the best display team - we are full of red errors!

11.) 16 Dec 2015 01:26:48
I saw Grobelaar play in the 80's as well. He was a great GK, end of.

08 Nov 2015 15:22:22
Any of the eds know what's going on with Sturridge are we going to see him anytime soon? Thanks in advance.

Jasondav88

{Ed001's Note - he is due back in a couple of weeks.}

Lovren and skrtel are clearly not the best of centre backs, I'm a swansea boy and been to watch the swans many times and have to say Ashley Williams is far better than the both of them I'm shocked Liverpool haven't come calling for him. Until Liverpool sort out the centre backs we got no chance really as there just not good enough!!
