Real madrid has interest in coutinho, i hope this is not true

Jerrin

1.) 09 Jul 2015 20:06:43
I would be pretty surprised if this were true! Maybe this is the player that could be leaving that Ed002 mentioned?
Fingers crossed he stays!!

2.) 09 Jul 2015 20:25:17
Unless they sell Rodriguez or Isco I don´t think this is going to happen.

3.) 09 Jul 2015 20:59:38
He has recently signed a new contract so John Henry would have a field day with them.

Maybe we should take Bale plus cash!!!

If they offer north of 65 million FSG might give it some consideration.

We hold all the aces in this game I think.

4.) 09 Jul 2015 21:36:17
Isco will probably go. Now Rafa is there i'd imagine more LFC players to be linked. Imo with Firmino I doubt Countinho will want out this season. No top 4 then yeah for sure.

5.) 09 Jul 2015 22:09:11
It was Benetiz who recommended Coutinho to Liverpool so its plausible that Real Madrid are interested.

6.) 10 Jul 2015 07:43:09
Well Last I heard from Ed02, Porto and banyern has been watching countinho.

7.) 10 Jul 2015 08:43:19
He's not consistent enough to warrant interest from Real Madrid or Bayern. Porto is pure odd, I remember that post too from Ed002 saying the two teams watched him (maybe around the end of March). Porto buy cheap and sell high so I never understood them watching him.

Hi Ed's,

I would be very happy if could sell rodgers to another club, that would have got us some penny. ( unfortunately that is not the way it works.)

My question is , is there any clubs interested in Brenden Rodgers?

Thank you.

Jerrin

{Ed001's Note - until he is out of work there will be no way of testing that. There is no interest from the kind of clubs that might consider trying to get him from us, though the likes of West Ham might be interested if he was on the market.}

1.) 19 May 2015 16:02:31
Great, I do think there is ambiguity in his chances at liverpool, so obviously teams like newcastle / westham might be interested.

I hope we sign a quality midfielder and replace gini. Not signing a quality defender was a big mistake by the club last season. Dejan lovren used to play 9-10 premier league games.

On the other hand gini plays a lot more than 10 games. and relying on Curtis, Milner, ox, naby. will be another mistake as there is serious drop in quality and fitness.

Jerrin

1.) 30 May 2021 17:53:03
Probably depends on who else leaves. Fab, Thiago and hendo are the first choice 3, however I think we absolutely need someone who is of similar quality who will rotate in and out as Hendo is not playing every game and Thiago and fab will need resting time to time. (Bissouma)
Jones has come on leaps and bounds but I feel he is still too young to be this player, he still needs to be managed but he will be brilliant to have in and out of the squad. Milner is a keeper as well.
Kieta needs to go, complete disaster of a signing.
Question mark over the Ox for sure though, if I was Klopp I would be asking the fitness team is he finished or is he going to be getting games next season. I would like to keep him personally because he’s brilliant when fit and he gives his all to the team. But depends on fitness.

So yeah I would bring in one midfielder to challenge for the first team. If both Keita and the ox leave then I would probably bring in another as well.

2.) 30 May 2021 17:53:52
Who would you pick Jerrin? Bissouma for me.

3.) 30 May 2021 17:55:17
How will it be a mistake? Curtis should be stepped up now or sold. He’s ready to go to the next level with us amd increase game time. Still has to be managed correctly but what is the sense in us training players to come through tk the first team, to then not give them the opportunity.

Some players thrive under the added pressure and others wilt. But we won’t know until they are put in the team. If we don’t want to rely on the likes of Jones and push him on then we shouldn’t be looking at any other young players with a view to bed in and play in near future.

Yes we are at a level where we have higher standards but these are players training with the squad day in and day out and showing enough talent and ability to get a few games. Let’s increase the number of games and give them a run and then make a calculated decision whether they make the grade. They deserve that at least.

4.) 30 May 2021 18:22:28
Curtis Jones used to play in left wing much similar to coutinho for u18. he is mostly used in mid 3 for first team though. so it feels like he don't have the freedom to attack or play naturally. I strongly believe gini and Curtis are attacking minded - goal scoring players in their whole career apart from Klopp's team which is quite strange.

5.) 30 May 2021 18:33:59
Regardless of our injury and defensive issues, this poor season has been contributed mainly due to lack of goals. I think we did a good job by signing diogo jota earlier to cover that, but unfortunately he got injured and mane, firmino's standards dipped as well. but I see similar style for mcity, however we can see significant goal contribution from their midfield with lot of forward runs from midfield, gundagon, Silva, kdb all contributes. Where as opposition teams give similar respect to us with we enjoying great possesion stats even with weak cb pairings but cannot breakdown them. That's heavily due to lack of goals. @KaneUOgre, I would prefer an attacking midfielder with full freedom. similar to (coutinho, kdb, bruno)

6.) 30 May 2021 18:34:02
I think Hendo, Thiago and Fab will be klopps first choice midfield 3 but between them they missed 41 league games last season. Wiji was the the most reliable of the midfield for always being available. Replacing that is key. Jones played 24 league games this season and that was with Wiji still in the squad. For me it will be a mistake not bringing in another midfielder. As good as the first 3 are the likelihood is they will miss games next season and let’s not assume that at any one time 2 or even the 3 might be injured at the same point. Naby and Ox are hardly reliable and as much as I love Milner he’s not getting any younger and we left ourselves short this season by not replacing Lovren.

7.) 30 May 2021 18:56:26
Totally agree with JK23, if we are probably fighting for top 4 position and hoping for a good UCL run, this squad is enough. however if we really need to be champions again, then there is no place for weak spots. This team is not getting any younger, but we still have world class players to have a go at league and ucl again.

8.) 30 May 2021 19:40:53
OP on your initial point, would us signing a CB last summer (who would have been 4th choice btw hence, no better than the 3 ahead of him) prevented the other 3 CB’s from getting injured fir the whole season? Also, what top CB do you know if that would come and sit on the bench at LFC? Just curious cos a lot of people repeat this narrative yet nobody has been able to answer this simple question. Cheers, mate.

9.) 30 May 2021 19:51:10
Jerrin that’s just crazy talk. The squad we have is more than capable of winning the league. The problem wasn’t goals it was destroying the midfield to cover the defence which meant we didn’t win the ball back as quickly and the back 4 could be got at easier.
Our front 3 are the best in the world when the rest of the team is functioning as it should.
As for replacing Gini I don’t honestly think it’s essential. More quality is always good but Jones should be able to cover.
The main problem this season was that all of the injuries to the centre backs where long term. You can cover situations for a few weeks but the whole season without any first choice players at CB would destroy any team.
Same with midfielders or attackers. No matter who you sign if you have 3 first choice players missing for the season from 1 area of the pitch you will struggle.
Let’s not over complicate things.

10.) 30 May 2021 20:15:10
I would love Tielemans over Bissouma, I just think he’s more cultured, but can also cover Fabs. I would be interested in Calhanoglu on a free also. Those two, with Ox and Jones would gibe great options. Let Keita go.

{Ed0666's Note - tielmans over bissouma? What you talking about Willis?😱

11.) 30 May 2021 21:41:02
Haven’t we just signed Konate to come in despite us still having Vvd, Gomez, Matip and Phillips.

12.) 30 May 2021 21:53:14
Yep, defo, Ed0666, after all different strokes for different folks 😉

I haven’t seen too many games with either of them, but the ones I have, Tielemans just looks different gravy. Seems to have more time on the ball - like a younger Thiago.

08 Feb 2021 01:55:37
I think the issue this season is performance of front 3. Only front 1 Salah exists.
Jota was the only bright spot and he got injured. We need to get a good replacement for minamino as well.

Jerrin

1.) 08 Feb 2021 08:13:55
OP, if that dingle point is what you think all our issues boil down to then, you are not seeing things clearly.

29 Nov 2018 03:46:27
I hate to say this, but Liverpool only have shaqiri to play the role cout and ox did.

He need to start. I don't think starting shaq will affect rhythm. To me he is the only player
Who always looked dangerous with ball on feet.

Jerrin

1.) 29 Nov 2018 19:48:51
Not sure Shaq would have made a diff. really. We were flat from the off and could not match PSG's energy and desire to fight for every ball. No one player can fix a mentality issue, man.

28 May 2018 05:47:41
Very disappointed by klopps management in final.

The subs he brought in were players who did not even kick ball in years.

If we need a goal why not bring in players who are atleast there and playing till last match. If he don't believe in solanke or ings. Please sell that.

Jerrin

1.) 28 May 2018 06:10:12
Jerrin, Solanke is a young inexperienced player. 30 mins into a final may have been a bit much for him, we'll never know. Lallana came on v Brighton, that's not years ago, get a grip. Ings I was disappointed was not on the bench I will admit. He would have been a more suitable replacement in the front 3. Rather than whinge, tell us who you would brought on? Klavan, Moreno, Clyne?

2.) 28 May 2018 07:08:13
The fact that Klavan, Moreno and Clyne wee on the bench was part of the problem. Hopefully that will be addressed in the summer.

Personally, I’d have taken a chance on Ings for the bench rather than Clyne, who was there only for the possibility of injury to Trent. That was always less likely to happen than us needing a goal late on.

3.) 28 May 2018 09:13:36
Ings was not named in the Champions league squad. Not an option 🤝.

2.) 26 Apr 2018 15:36:50
awesome, let's enjoy him whilst he is here.

3.) 26 Apr 2018 15:37:05
So true. hope he stays with us. I know club Is more important and all and I totally agree. but such players are really really good to watch and they take us to top.

4.) 26 Apr 2018 22:28:35
I know the the creator of this video. His LFC videos are top notch.

5.) 26 Apr 2018 22:40:03
We have built a monster and the great thing is, he will keep getting stronger.

6.) 26 Apr 2018 23:58:35
Eds002 has told us Salah has had his agent to enquire whether Barça or Real would be interested in him.

Would Messi Or Ronaldo be happy to see him steal their thunder and would either team be able to change the formation to give him the freedom we do, I don't think so on both counts it would be bad move for him now.

7.) 27 Apr 2018 08:57:01
Don't worry, IDLLK. His agent went to them. They did not come to him so he is just fishing. Also, I don't think they can afford him right now (esp. not Barca) and besides, Real have GK, CB, striker and wide man issues and they would try for Neymar first (wideman) before anyone else, IMO.

8.) 27 Apr 2018 11:07:48
We are going to win the european Cup. Again. Why bother with the Premier league when we can lift the big one.We ARE going to lift it. I know it. City was the big game and, I don't care what the pundits say, we destroyed them. We blew them away. 5 1 is a thrashing. An embarrassment. No one can stop us now. As long as we keep little mo (mo the monster) fit, that trophy is ours.

Origi is still the best finisher in the current team. If you get a chance in the box, I will put my money on origi, than our front 4.

{Ed025's Note - better than mo?..lay off the drugs mate..

Good signing for coutinho, though.
His wages will be very high, playing time will be less. We have too many midfielders falling under that group already even after barring shaq.
Milner, ox, naby.
