Ed’s a few questions regarding Liverpool’s Transfer issues:

1) Is this historically a Liverpool issue from way back regarding tapping up or is this recent to our new owners? Being an American I know that we sell and buy plays differently in our sports and wondering if the new owners are grasping the rules required for this sport? (And yes, I know they should know the process by now)

2) Or is this transfer tapping up something that is a Klopp issue? I am assuming that there is nothing special in Germany that allows this tapping up to occur so why does Klopp not understand that this is a problem.

I am more concerned with the root of the issue and why we continue to act like this and who in the club would fix this issue. It is obviously causing a issue with our standing in the game and in dealings with other teams.

{Ed001's Note - it is something that has been going on since before both Klopp and the arrival of FSG.}

There are really clear rules in American sports too. Probably more strictly enforced too.

So who is to blame then. If the issues pre date manager changes and ownership is the tea lady setting up these meetings? Surely fsg could get a handle on this and stop it publicly with a sacrificial name or names and prove they are trying to wipe the slate and could this not help start to build reputation with other clubs? Seems strange they have sat back if they have no involvement / knowledge of our behaviour in the market and are embarrassed by it. Sorry to call the tea lady out sure it's not fault really.

{Ed025's Note - she,s been brewing up trouble for years mate..

Per my previous post I would like to expand and update the top 4 situation.(Keeping in mind the goal of the season is to qualify for CL) As previously stated when there was 14 games remaining the goal of team should be aiming for is 9W 3D 2L. That would put us on 77pts last year 4th place had 73 and 2nd had 78.

Currently we are 5W 3D and 2L away from that CL Place. More importantly our Rivals have pushed closer to not being able to catch us based on their records.

I posted that both Everton and Tottenham would have to win at least 11 of the remaining 14 games to guarantee them to finish above us if we were to only win 9 and lose the other 5. That would put Tottenham on 77pts and Everton on 78pts.

That means if Tottenham have any combination of loss+draws that totals 6 that puts them out of 4th
If Everton have any combination of loss+draws that totals 7 that puts them out of 4th.

Tottenham currently are +1 to the bad(leaving 6 left games of loss+draws) They are still yet to play Chelsea (A), Arsenal(H), Southampton(H), and Liverpool(A), Stoke(A).

Everton currently are +2 to the bad(leaving 5 left games of loss+draws) They are still yet to play Swansea(H), Arsenal(H), United(H), Southampton(A), and City(H).

We are fully on pace to meet the CL qualification that was set forth in the beginning of the year. In my original scenario I expected to draw to Arsenal, Southampton and United. I gladly ate my words on 2 of those games. let's hope I continue to eat my words

After reviewing our remaining schedule I believe the team should be aiming for 9W 3D 2L. That would put us on 77pts last year 4th place had 73 and 2nd had 78. I figure we lose to City and Chelsea at home, draw to Arsenal (H), Southampton(A), and United(H) along with winning the other games with Tottenham being our biggest win of the 9. Even if we were to go 9W 0D 5L we still finish with 27pts and a total of 74 which is 1 point higher than 4th last year. The goal should really be concentrating on 9 wins. I don't care who we beat as long as we get to 9 wins. That would require Everton and Tottenham to both have to have 10+ wins in their remaining 14 games to overtake us.

The scenarios below are based on us winning a minimum of 9 wins

Everton still have to play Tottenham(A), Chelsea(A), Arsenal(H), United(H), Southampton(A), and City(H).

Tottenham still have to play Everton(H), Chelsea (A), Arsenal(H), Southampton(H), and Liverpool(A), Stoke(A).

That means at worst both teams have to win at least 11 of the remaining 14 games to guarantee them to finish above us if we were to only win 9 and lose the other 5. That would put Tottenham on 77pts and Everton on 78pts.

That means if Tottenham have any combination of loss+draws that totals 6 that puts them out of 4th
If Everton have any combination of loss+draws that totals 7 that puts them out of 4th. With both teams having to play each other this weekend that is going to put a +1 is the loss+draw column.

The real point of this is the fact that if Arsenal beat us this weekend it is not the end of the world and we need to support our team. We have a great run in and should have no problem coming into the home stretch with a CL league place in hand.

Deadline Day may be great to follow but spare a thought for FIFA's Transfer Matching System. There have been so many signings around Europe that FIFA's system for registrations has been unable to cope with the demand. No transfer can through without this TMS system. Tonight FIFA has confirmed it's moving more slowly than normal, but FIFA has told us they hope to clear the backload. Any deals held up will be given the green light.

Konoplyanka, 24, has been the Reds' one and only target on deadline day.

Anfield chiefs have been busy trying to thrash out a deal before 11pm and TV station Russia-24 claim the move has been completed.

The reports suggest he will earn £58,000 a week at Liverpool. However, Starsport sources are still to confirm the news.

The deal hinges on Dnipro's billionaire owner agreeing the switch.

That has been the main sticking point of a possible transfer.
