Got an old fashioned rumour for you all! Am currently in Amsterdam and went on the Ajax stadium tour today. The tour guide mentioned that the current captain De ligt could be leaving to the likes of juventus, man city and Liverpool being interested. Make of it what you will.

Jord2005

1.) 15 Jun 2018 23:57:51
I'm sure half of Europe are 'interested'

2.) 16 Jun 2018 09:37:18
If you are in the Dam go to the Globe Sports Bar on Oudezidjvoorburgwal in the Red Light district, great place to watch the games.

3.) 16 Jun 2018 13:09:01
I always liked the Bluebird coffeeshop, very interesting menus!

4.) 16 Jun 2018 22:16:25
I love the bluebird!

Away from all the doom and gloom of this season, I read an article the other day about when Rafa was in charge at Liverpool. Apparently they had deals in place to sign David Silva, David Villa and Dani Alves over a few transfer windows. But apparently Rick Parry who was chairman at the time pulled the plug on them all due to really stupid reasons. We could of literally had the Spanish team playing for us! Not sure how true it all is but imagine if those deals went through!

GK Renia
RB Alves
CB Carragher
CB Hyypia
LB Arebeloa
DM Alonso
DM Macherano
AM Gerrard
LW Villa
RW Silva
ST Torres

What a team that would of been, we'd of been unstoppable for 2-3 seasons. If only we had such supportive owners like we do now when Rafa was in charge.

Jord2005

1.) 28 Feb 2021 09:53:21
Don't forget Parry pulled the plug on a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo too! Although I believe that was under Houllier and not Rafa.

2.) 28 Feb 2021 10:29:40
Aguero for £7.5 mil agreed, but thought that was far too much for untested South American teenager,
So went in for Voronin instead🙄.

3.) 28 Feb 2021 12:22:16
I thought Rafa himself decided to pass on Alves because he didn't think he'd be at his best at either right back or right mid in his system.

Silva and Villa were big misses though.

4.) 28 Feb 2021 12:39:19
David Villa was one of the all time great strikers. What a player!

Announce Fakir!

Sorry, wrong transfer window.

Hey Eds,

Sorry if this has been covered but what would happen this season if it was cut short due to C.V.. I remember reading somewhere at the start of the season that if a certain number of games had been played the league table would stand as it is. If they hadn't played those games it'd be voided. I never saw any confirmation of this though and can't remember the amount of games it said.

Jord2005

{Ed002's Note - Try searching.}

1.) 07 Jan 2021 19:14:12
Ed02, why don't you simply answer Jord's question? In times of NHS workers working 12 hour shifts, putting their lives at risk, how much of an hardship is it answering a question which will take you all of 10 seconds?

{Ed002's Note - why does the site constantly get you, abusing the Eds. I will delete his account so you won’t have to bother about it again.

2.) 07 Jan 2021 19:31:54
Rome he does this for free so has zero obligation to answer any questions. The search is there for a reason so wants the problem with eds response. For a question like that Google would also work.
Cracking response Ed 😂😂.

3.) 07 Jan 2021 19:56:02
Thats cos ed002 knows that jord2005 doesn't work for the NHS as he's a £1000 an hour male gigolo with plenty of time on his hands. But as the grafton has now closed down, jord is picking up more and more business from the blur rinse brigade.
Ed025 was a regular in the grafton, til he ran out of chat up lines.
He now hangs out around the toxteth Women's institute and the old peoples home around the corner from X in the city.

{Ed025's Note - i was a regular at "grab a granny" sandon, my old trick was to buy a bottle of pomagne and sit by myself with 2 glasses, you would be surprised how many birds ask if you have been stood up and come and have a glass with you out of smypathy...and thats your starter for 10, dont tell anyone though mate because im trying to patent it.. :)

4.) 07 Jan 2021 20:13:19
Brilliant ed025
Thought youd really push the boat out though and make it a bottle of babysham or blue nun
I used to bevvy barley wine or perno and black but found that my standards would drop and id wake up the next morning lying next to purple aki or lilo lil so i knocked that on the head straight away.

{Ed025's Note - i must confess i have ended up with some rough ones sandon, i had to sandpaper most of them the next morning mate.. :)

5.) 07 Jan 2021 20:16:37
Wasn't Rome the guy who got into a spat with Ed002 during the summer and went "buh, it's not fair. He picked on me! He hates Liverpool! " over it? Yet now he's here to pick sht again over a question that he iddn't even ask? Hmmm. Interesting.

The question's been answered before several times and the answer is searchable. OP has been told that.

6.) 07 Jan 2021 20:19:30
I draw the line at false teeth though ed
In the taxi home, if she can pull out her falsys then i pretend i've got the squits and jump out at the nearest traffic lights.

{Ed025's Note - i just put them in the same glass as mine sandon.. :)

7.) 07 Jan 2021 20:26:13
Ed025 i got to ask. do u know johny metcalf? Used to bevvy in wavertree, lives in kenny now.

{Ed025's Note - i know of him and have seen him around mate, im more a mate of alan Mc the fruit guy, clarkey and jay taylor..

8.) 07 Jan 2021 20:41:41
Has alan got a brother?

{Ed025's Note - yeah steve mate

9.) 07 Jan 2021 20:43:13
Doesnt clarkey drink in town now, mathew street?

{Ed025's Note - anywhere and everywhere where its cheap..

10.) 07 Jan 2021 20:47:29
pomagne at the Grafton 25 mate? Didn’t realise you were so sophisticated, bet you had your own table too 😎
Was that after a pre grab a granny drink at the Lutine Bell mate? 😃.

{Ed025's Note - the lutine was an afternoon haunt for me drogie, along with the canon and the campfield mate, it was usually wavertree high street of an evening for the better class of women.. :)

11.) 07 Jan 2021 20:50:30
Did that steve play for southport?
Anyways ill let u get back to your pint ed025
Catch u up again soon
What ale house do u bevvy in nowadays then? Most of em
Closed down now in wavertree haha.

{Ed025's Note - i know mate, its woolton village now sandon and if you seen some of the totty there you would know why.. :)

12.) 07 Jan 2021 20:59:26
Coffee house ed?

{Ed025's Note - yeah mate mostly, and the loft..

13.) 07 Jan 2021 21:25:08
Just to clarify, I have searched and Googled it before asking the eds and didn't find anything. Obviously I didn't look hard enough, so will try again. Rome doesn't speak for me, I understand the eds response. No problems on my part. They work hard on this site.

{Ed047's Note - no worries jord, the other guy is a clown who thinks it’s funny to be an absolute melt! 🤦‍♂️

14.) 07 Jan 2021 22:22:10
FYI, Jord, I remember seeing an Ed002 comment about this a couple of days ago. I guess you could find it by searching for C.V. or C.V. or C.V.?

Anyway, from what I remember, the proposal was that as long as 50% or more of the games had been played at the point of cancellation then the team at the top would get the title. If less than 50% then it would be void. However, I don't know if this has been confirmed by the clubs or not (not sure Ed002 knew either or whether he was passing on the proposal on the table) .

{Ed002's Note - Subject to a 14 plus club agreement - but it impacts relegation as well.}

15.) 07 Jan 2021 21:06:41
Last question ed. do u bevvy with brian in the coffee house (used to go out with linsey) ?

{Ed025's Note - no mate..

16.) 07 Jan 2021 21:29:44
25 mate, did you ever have a pint in the Strawberry Tavern on Breckfield Road South ?

{Ed025's Note - dead right i did drogie, and used to frequent the wookey hollow as well mate and seen some good acts on there..

17.) 07 Jan 2021 21:07:10
Ed025 you definitely had your Complan (Remember that😁)

{Ed025's Note - i do barry.. :)

I was just looking through some of my old posts, no idea why! But I came across this reply to one of my posts in 2018 in which I was defending our squad. I won't name the person to embarrass them but this comment hasn't aged well at all lol. Safe to say we've come a long way!

"We have a good left back in Robertson. " lol.

Jord2005

1.) 29 Sep 2020 17:01:42
Just to clarify, the person was laughing at fact I said we have a good left back in Robertson.

Just read it and it didn't read well lol.

2.) 29 Sep 2020 17:04:07
Hahaha. Yeah but dat defending for Arsenal's goal though. ;)

3.) 29 Sep 2020 17:06:07
Jord, even the person in question will agree with you right now, hand in the air, 100%!
We've come a long way indeed! The sheer hunger; the desire shown by these players is just unreal.
Check this out as an example: last week, Mane misplaced a kick, got exasperated, charged towards Kepa like a demon, and bam, nicked the clearance and scored the killer second goal. Then yesterday, Robbo miscues a clearance, costs us a goal, gets a goal on the other end within 10 minutes!
I know it won't happen in every game, but if these guys keep this mentality up, it will take a lot to stop them!
Keep going, Reds. YNWA.

4.) 29 Sep 2020 17:21:29
When we signed Mane my arsenal supporting friend sarcastically texted to me “Wow you’ll win the title now! ”

How prophetic that turned out to be haha.

5.) 29 Sep 2020 22:06:05
mate, some of the debates on here and posters questioning FSG and Klopp back in those first couple years, all those comments ahv aged well. having said that, it was the neccessary rough waters that Klopp needed to navigate the club through.

22 Sep 2020 12:37:52
Hey Eds, any truth in the reports Wijnaldum has rejected a contract offer from Liverpool? Thanks.

Jord2005

{Ed002's Note - He has certainly not agreed a new contract - and I doubt doing so would be in his best financial interests at this point in his career.}

1.) 22 Sep 2020 14:34:03
Poor bugger will be on the breadline.

{Ed025's Note - we could always have whip round toon.. :)

2.) 22 Sep 2020 15:01:50
He will hang on a few months and receive a nice seven figure signing-on fee. I personally think that he is over-rated but would be good enough to play in the F. A. and Carabao Cups. I certainly wouldn't use him any more in the League and European Cups - we have enough other options!

3.) 22 Sep 2020 17:09:20
lets give thanks your not manager then mea gan
as that is just plain nonsenses imo.

4.) 22 Sep 2020 18:37:29
Mea-gan, it is clear you know absolutely nothing about the true greatness of Gini Wijnaldum> Don't know what your day job is but please, stick to it and never go into football analysis.

5.) 22 Sep 2020 18:40:20
He goes to Barcelona on a free then. Oh well. He's earned it. In his defence he wanted us to at least get something thus wanting to go this season.

I think if thiago allows gini to play further forward, he may reconsider.

But he'll be on huge wages if he goes on a free. I think he wanted to go because of the thiago move. Seeing his chances dwindling with fab keita and thiago.

I'd go

Hendo. Thiago. Gini.

Or

Fab. Thiago

Hendo Bobby. Mane

Salah.

6.) 22 Sep 2020 19:31:19
If he goes on a free, good luck to him. He’s played a huge part in our resurgence.

7.) 22 Sep 2020 19:34:24
Hendo right wing Robbie 🤔.

8.) 22 Sep 2020 19:49:28
Like I said for Emre Can. Thank the man for fulfilling his contractual obligations in a stellar, and more than satisfactory manner, and Godspeed to him.

9.) 22 Sep 2020 20:20:30
Exactly ArAy1969. Have never heard anything about him being a bad influence or a distraction around the club. Good solid pro that has contributed massively to all success that has been achieved in the last 2 years.

10.) 22 Sep 2020 20:58:07
Keita is rubbish I’m not defending him no more he’s done nothing! If gini thinks keita is ahead of him he will leave but no chance will he accept that!

11.) 22 Sep 2020 21:24:45
I’d pick Wijnaldum every time over Keita, far more reliable and a team player.

12.) 23 Sep 2020 09:30:44
Red Meister - nobody does - he's yet to show it for Liverpool!

{Ed025's Note - what you fail to comprehend mea gan is that if you dont agree with what RM says you are wrong or not a real supporter, he is the all seeing eye and a fountain of knowlege mate...but i love him really.. :)

13.) 22 Sep 2020 15:12:35
No Ef025 - actually he needs a good whipping!

Didn't Klopp sign Hummels and Subotic for 4m each when he was at Dortmund? I know, was a different time but don't judge a player before he's played for the club or based on price. Keep faith in Klopp and his judgement.

Jord2005

{Ed0666's Note - Cantona was signed for 1.2 million and he wasn’t too shabby.

For me, in the last 24 hours, we've gone from needing one centre back to two! Don't get me wrong I'm not living in a dream world, we won't sign two, we'll be lucky to get one. A loan or a short term option seems the most likely and realistic. Van Dijk for me would be removed from the squad, as well as he is doing, I can't see him being match fit before the end of the season, Gomez more likely could be towards the end of the season. We will see what happens, we have been surprised on more than one occasion. Who saw Jota signing in the summer!

Let's say we do buy Thiago, our first team midfield would consist of

Thiago
Fabinio
Henderson
Milner
Gini
Ox
Keita
Jones

8 players fighting for 3 positions, as ed0666 pointed out, I think at least 1 person has to leave for us to sign Thiago. I do think we need someone with a bit more creativity in the middle of the park but would I swap any of our current midfield for Thiago? I would say no, wait another year and buy someone younger. Sell the likes of Milner/ Gini next summer and refresh things then.

Is it possible Klopp wants Ox to play further forward on more often when Salah/ Mane aren't playing? I could understand the need for someone like Thiago then, but even then we're well stacked in midfield. If we have £30 million to spend I'd rather see us buy a versatile forward to challenge the front 3. Or a centre back to challenge Gomez and cover for big Virg. Thiago would be a marquee signing we haven't had for a while but one I really don't think we need at the moment.

I can understand a lot of us being underwhelmed if we signed Butland, especially after being linked with the likes of Allison and Olbak. But is he an upgrade on what we have? Probably yes, I think we've been priced out of a move for a truly world class goalkeeper. So let's hope if this rumour is true, Klopp can get the best out of him and let's support the lad! He could be a great signing for us.

No he didn't, the sky sports presenter interrupted Jamie to bring some which was Wilshire to Birmingham. When they went back to Jamie, he said don't interrupt me for that, that's isn't . Van Dijk to Liverpool would be .

In your opinion ed001, do you think there is something more happening here than just injuries, fatigue and bad form? Is there something maybe going on behind the scenes we don't know about or is it purely the reasons you and others have suggested previously? Love getting your insights. Thanks.

Jord2005

{Ed001's Note - well the biggest problem is the lack of fans to provide that boost of adrenalin when legs get tired. This whole season is shortened, so the players are constantly tired and need help, but there is nothing to help them.} Become a Patron!

Fully agree with you.

I've got to put things into perspective, some of you may agree with me some of you may not. The backlash from these so called fans after this defeat and recent form is disgraceful. You're all sounding like plastic Chelsea/ Man City fans that only support the club because of success. If that's the case you are not a true fan. I understand, it's difficult to take due to our recent success, we have been spoilt. Some of you need to remember the dark days of Roy Hodgson.

This team and this manager has been absolutely exceptional for the past 3 years. Two champions league finals, with one win. 97 and 99 points, any other year, that's back to back league titles. We won the champions league the year we finished on 97 points and lost only 4 games over 2 seasons, 2 of which came after we won the league. They have preformed to an incredibly high standard for the last few seasons, that alone is crazy.

This season has been like no other, no proper pre-season, matches every 3-4 days, players catching C.V. (which if you've had it, would know, the fatigue is crippling), no fans, more injuries and considerably lower income. In hindsight it's easy to say we should of replaced Lovern in the summer. Who could of predicted we'd have season ending injuries to all 3 of our centre backs. We simply didn't and do not have enough money under the current circumstances to bring in all the players we need. Yes, it has highlighted some of our back up options aren't good enough. I'm sure Klopp will address this in the up and coming transfer windows, if the money is available.

We have to keep the faith in the team and get behind them, now more than ever. This team is full of heros who ended the long wait for a Premier League Trophy, they deserve our respect, even now. Let's hope we finished 3rd or 4th and rebuild for next season. We may even have a good run in the champions league again. Take each game as it comes and continue to support this great club, win, lose or draw.

Man City have dropped points to Roy Hodgson and Rafa Benitez this season. Can another ex Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers do it? It's clutching at straws but it's all the hope I need to say it's not over yet.

Come on Brendan! It's your destiny!
