One thing I will say Karius couldn't do anything about the two goals but a few times he came out and punched the ball clear and got the distance needed on the punches so we could reset in defence I would go with him against Burnley and give him a run of games Migs has had his chance for 3 years straight.

Agreed. Unfortunately every time Karius plays he never has any shots to "save" so we never really get to see that side of him.
Absolutely nothing he could do about both goals. Hope he plays at the weekend, with the same back four. I'm with 001 and 002, these players will never get better ( matip Moreno klavan an lovren) so the only thing I can think is consecutively play them and HOPEFULLY they can start cutting out the brain farts.

2.) 14 Sep 2017 13:29:11
We will know on Friday who starts against Burnley. My money is on Mignolet! Did he not say Migs would play in the league and Karius in CL?

Just want to say big props to Juan Mata just read on bleacher report that he is going to donate 1% of his wages to charity I know its only 1% but its still a good sum of money, he is going to try and convince others to do the same in football, Mats Hummels has already started.

A noble endeavour no doubt, will be interesting to see what percentage of money raised is actually invested back into footballing charities and how much is used to run the initiative, pay the staff etc (always interesting with charities)

2.) 06 Sep 2017 10:12:04
I believe it's going to go to dementia charities in light of the recent realisation of the brain damage caused by heading the ball so much throughout a football career.

Very worthy cause if true.

3.) 06 Sep 2017 10:17:49
Back!, why go cynical so quick? It's a positive endeavor that could get funding to any number of people who will benefit more from it than the players.

4.) 06 Sep 2017 10:30:56
I started by describing it as a noble endeavour Andy you may have missed that. Also you may not find it interesting where the money you donate to charity goes but I certainly am. If you think that every penny donated to charity is directly used for charitable purposes you must do some research I'm afraid. I wouldn't say I'm cynical so much as curious. If I donate 10pound and 6 of that is used for charitable purposes, it's common sense to wonder where my other 4 is going and who it's going to. Settle down buddy.

5.) 06 Sep 2017 10:50:34
Totally get it, man. Was being more playful than it obviously came across.

6.) 06 Sep 2017 11:12:44
No problem Andy it's just I love the idea of these charities but not always their execution. It is refreshing seeing players donate some of their outrageous salaries though.

7.) 06 Sep 2017 14:28:37
Juan Mata has shown a level of humanity seldom seen in football on a number of occasions. Truly great man.

8.) 06 Sep 2017 18:12:13
A very nice sentiment. Back is right to wonder where his donations go, sadly a lot of charities are being run by the same ruthless people who do well in big business. Not all charities are run by phycos though and most do amazing work. 1% is better than nothing of course but the charity would get much more exposure if it was 5-10%. Good man mata. A player I have always admired, fantastic creativity. I know urltd wouldn't do business with us but he would be an excellent, premier league ready, creative replacement for coutinio.

Lemar has just ripped Holland apart showed his quality even more in that game shame we can't get him think he would of been a very good signing ah well we move on let's get behind everyone at club and have a fantastic year no point dwelling on it.

Kloppers

1.) 31 Aug 2017 22:29:46
Hollander were rubbish.

2.) 31 Aug 2017 22:52:21
Im sure someone on here would have been calling him overpriced and a waste of money within a month if he had signed.

Ed01 can I get your opinion on wijnaldum I wasn't particularly over excited when we signed him Klopp has changed his position from the one he played at Newcastle. he is a difficult one to judge because if you don't look for him on the pitch he is anonymous, but to his credit he is doing the dirty work most of the time holding the ball up for his size he ridiculously strong at fending people away from the ball, to top it off he has the joint most assists this year with 11.

Kloppers

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, I was very against the idea of signing him, but this season he has proven me completely wrong. He was an essential part of the team, rather than the player who went missing for Newcastle (and previous clubs) every time things got a bit tough for the team, he stepped up and was there when we had a bad patch. He has an excellent touch, gets up and down the pitch constantly, is strong, quick and has worked hard all season. I think he has to go down as the signing of the season for us, despite Mane's brilliance at time, as he was involved so much more than Mane was able to.}

1.) 22 May 2017 10:52:25
i love the player but was against the signing but everything he has done for liverpool this season is exactly what i thought he didn't have in the locker which was composure and thought throughout a season. i thought he would come in like a shelvey 2.0 and score a few screamers but not feature. he hasn't scored a goal from outside the box if im not mistaken which i think he will add to next season as his confidence grows because when his shots are hit they stay hit and i expect him to be in double digits for goals and assists next season.
Top Player!

Also always has been a really genuine guy and big family guy from anyone i heard off in holland so a good one to have around!

2.) 22 May 2017 11:07:01
Agree with Ed001. Before he signed for us, I thought he was a 'flash in the pan' winger at best who would provide decent cover for Mane. How wrong I was.
I believe Gini will start next season as our first choice midfielder in a trio with Couts and Can. These three all have their respective strengths and offer just about the same balance of attacking and defensive qualities. Special mention to Hendo who could also slot right into that midfield at Can's expense (rotation option) .
Ed001, what do you think about our midfield options at the moment? U think we have enough in there to compete on all fronts with Couts, Lallana, Gini, Hendo, Can, Grujic and Lucas next season? Personally i think we have enough mids unless Keita desperately wants to move to us, in which case it might spell the end of Grujic's career at LFC.

{Ed001's Note - a lot depends on Hendo's fitness, Grujic's development and whether or not Lucas is still here. For next season I would say what we have is enough, so long as we bring in the left sided option. Otherwise I would like us to bring in someone with energy and bite to provide a different option.}

3.) 22 May 2017 11:18:59
We could always look to the likes of Nainngolan, Vidal or Bakoyoko to provide that 'energy and bite' u talk about Ed001. But it looks like we either target Keita or no one for midfield. Personally i feel other areas of the squad need more strengthening and Klopp can take a look at the midfield the season after next. Maybe try to convince Lucas to stay for one more season.

{Ed001's Note - Nainggolan would be the last player any team would want to spend money on. 29, parties every night, smokes 50 a day, I doubt he has more than a couple of seasons left in his career. Vidal and Bakayoko would cost too much.}

4.) 22 May 2017 11:20:17
I was against it too and had posted it. Over the years, I had seen so many Dutch players with attitude and character problems despite being highly skilled, I had sort of written him off too. But he's been a very refreshing surprise. No attitude on the pitch whatsoever, and above all, seems to be very adaptable and accommodating to whatever Klopp asks him to do. Every team needs grafters who silently get on with it without fuss and dazzling football skills - and he is definitely one of them. I actually think it's far more important for him to break up play and prevent goals, rather than score them. The Barcelona version of Yaya Toure.

Agreed Ed002 he needs to swallow his pride and pick one we all no Migs isn't good enough, and Karius needs a run of games but us fans jumped on his back and ruined it, what needs to happen is Karius needs to go in go in goal for a good run of games if he messes up get behind him but then if it does prove he is not good enough Put ward in there and so what happens with him stop messing all 3 about with broken promises and if they all fail ask for help in the defensive department and go and identify a GK needs to swallow his pride on this one.

How is that decent? the loan yes but the option to buy! he is one of the most talented lads in your youth systems makes no sense to give them the option to buy.

Im sorry I just don't see what all the fuss is about VVD he is the Dutch version of lovren he is just as rash the only two things he has on lovren is he plays better with the ball on ground and he is quicker if we do get him I can see him doing the exact same mistakes lunging in etc.

I'm slightly confused as to how the pipco sale would be the boards or FSG fault, sure they can say we don't want you to go and say he is not for sale but then if he personally wants to go you can't stop the lad, everyone saying VVD should hand in a transfer request and fob Southampton off what would you say if pipco did that to us? Liverpool deserve this for screwing up there summer business it was all there fault no one elses, this is nothing to do with the board or FSG this is Klopp being a total ass and messing everything up, good luck at Barcelona if it does happen personally myself I would drop Bobby into CAM and try and identify a 20 goal season striker and go all out or if we can sacrifice someone to the gods to get sturridge to stay fit for the season lol.

From what I watched in the second half the only player on that team that could turn it on at the moment and doesn't look like he is nervous or not confident is Lookman should of played from the start tbh,

I find the team is playing far to many of the same player should drop Siggy next to Morgan and play Klassen with Mirallas and lookman on the wings get at teams then with lookmans pace, or swap Klassen with siggy and play two DMS to sure the team up what do you think Ed25? I just think your playing completely the wrong formation for what you bought.

Kloppers

{Ed025's Note - the wrong players, the wrong system and the wrong manager kloppers, you dont know how lucky you are to have a manager like jurgen mate, you moan at his selections and formations...you dont know how lucky you are..

I'd Take Gueye, Lookman, Davies they have some talent in there just needs top be used better.

Kloppers

{Ed001's Note - I wouldn't touch Gueye, can't pass and far too rash in the tackle. He would be a much better player if he made less as he is prone to the Moreno's - rash lunges to win a ball he has no chance of getting. Calvert-Lewin I would take as well as Lookman and Davies though.}

Sucks yes, but this means the back ups have a chance to prove themselves Ox needs to make a statement now and run United ragged.

Right now I'd go with Marcelo and Sandro but come next year the next two top dogs will be Alex Telles and Alex Grimaldo both absolute class.
