Hi Eds.

All has gone quiet on the Sahko situation.

Is there any news if him moving on?

Even as part exchange?

{Ed001's Note - nothing, with the injury he suffered at the end of the season, I doubt there will be much interest in him this summer unless he can prove himself fit in preseason.}

Hi Eds.

Does anyone think that Gomez could slot in as a holding midfielder and drop back in to make a 3 at the back as needed?

He seems very composed on the ball.

1.) 19 Jul 2017 18:51:43
I think he could ala Eric Dier at Spurs. But I don't see the point. Spurs did that when they had two incredibly offensive wing backs, and Dembele and Alli both pushing up. Since they have brought in Wanyama and started using Trippier and Davies more, they have dropped that tactic, and improved.

We should be getting ahead of the game, not trialling tactics deployed by Spurs in 2015/ 16 season where they finished 3rd in a 2 horse race, such is the bunch jokers they are!

Henderson and Can are both good players in that holding role, so I see no need to take a gamble on Gomez there, irrespective of whether or not it could work. A good debate none the less though buddy.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 19:02:43
I think it is fair to say that with the amount of CM's we have, there will be absolutely no chance of Gomez making an appearance there.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 19:18:51
I know it's only a friendly but Gomez handled Benteke well and his pace was good.

4.) 19 Jul 2017 20:11:24
If we're moving players about I'd rather put Grujic as a centre back.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 20:43:43
Gruijic has. A lot to his game, too much for CB.

6.) 20 Jul 2017 00:07:50
I noticed in certain games last season where the other team defended deep and parked the bus. (so called lessr teams)

We attacked them relentlessly having a huge percentage of posession but often only drew or even sometimes got caught with the sucker punch of a counter attack.

In these matches Henderson and Can which ever one was playing both had the instinct to push forward to affect play probably through frustration.
This left thd 2 centre halfs exposed as the full backs were forward as well

A defensive minded footballer like Gomes may not have the instinct to push up and in the case of any break you have 3 at the back instead of 2.

Just a thought as Gomes looks impressive and like he could offer more than just centre back.
And its not really changing the posistion az really its 3 centre backs with 1 pushed up.

Hi Eds.

{Ed002's Note - You need to take this to th European pages. This is the Liverpool page.}

1.) 20 Jun 2017 02:33:46
Sorry Ed
I thought it being about Klopp would give it relevance on these pages az it appeared to be a roller derby coaster ride .
I was wondering if it could happen again?

{Ed002's Note - These things can always happen.}

Its nice to see Phil Coutinio sponsoring a football match while on holiday.

He supplied his team wirh our new home kit and was pictured wearing one himself, .

1.) 19 Jun 2017 10:23:33
The only club he wants to move is Barcelona and they are not looking at him atm. I expect Iniesta to play atleast one more season. So if we end up trophy less next season the he is off!

2.) 19 Jun 2017 11:48:54
Why? Like he said why go and be another number at Barcelona when he could become a legend and be adored here.

3.) 19 Jun 2017 11:55:44
No need to yell.

4.) 19 Jun 2017 12:03:49
Agreed with James except he's already a legend and adored here. On his day he can be up there with the best in the world and has had some scintillating performances in the last few seasons. Now that he is hitting his prime we have a seriously dangerous attacking player on our roster.

5.) 19 Jun 2017 12:30:11

Why do you think he will be just a number at Barca? There aren't any legends in that Barcelona midfield. Once iniesta hangs up his boots Coutinho will walk into that midfield all day! Coutinho and Verratti alongside Busquets is what will happen in future!

6.) 19 Jun 2017 12:35:38
I do really hate the word "roster"

7.) 19 Jun 2017 12:50:03
Because it's been reported that Phil himself said he'd just be another number at Barca. and what info do you think you have to expect a midfield of Veratti, Coutinho and Busquets? And you "expect" Iniesta, you talk
Like your mr important I'm sure your after an Editirs role on these pages. but nobody takes you serious.

8.) 19 Jun 2017 13:08:17
Inieata is 30 plus and ain't getting younger while Barcelona chasing Verratti has been explained over and over by the Editors on various pages including Chelsea and European.
Not even close to a hindsight!

9.) 19 Jun 2017 14:28:20
It's just talk, you name a midfield 3 you expect at Barcelona next year yet only 1 of them currently plays there, the other 2 are key players at their respected clubs and would command huge fees but you talk like it's going to happen like your in football manager in your bedroom! Your obsessed with Iniesta, Barcelona and midfield players.

10.) 19 Jun 2017 15:42:09
People should simply stop talking and acting like they know what is going on at Barcelona or with the Couts link to Barcelona cos quite simply, they don't so the nonsensical attitude of projecting one's opinions as facts need to stop as it is becoming pointless with every passing day.

All we know is what the Ed's tell us and Ed02 has said that Couts is still open to the move BUT IMO, it may not happen right now as he may not be ready to make the move yet cos he is loving it here and/ or that Barcelona are seriously short of cash (having given all the money to MSN) hence, they have to sell some of their big earning players Like Turan (who refused to leave) and get the big wages off the books. Couts will be here next season and that is all that should matter now.

11.) 21 Jun 2017 03:13:49
He said 'why would I go to Barcelona and be only be another number, when If I stay here and do well they may build a statue of me. ' (paraphrased)

Hi Eds.
I was just on the web looking for all things LFC and wondering How Klopps LFC is viewed or rated in other countries .?

Are we viewed as a team on the up with a ever inproving squad or are we still the best of the rest livung on padt glories.

{Ed001's Note - no idea how that can be answered as it would depend on who you spoke to and which country you are in.}

1.) 18 Jun 2017 07:16:02
In my country/ city, Klopp's reputation is well respected. I have observed that ever since he was in charge, there has been a marked worry in other fans whenever their teams play against us. United fans spare no opportunity to mock us whenever we do something stupid but we frequently indulge in serious discussions. Coutinho, Firmino, Mane and Wijnaldum are rated well, Studge whenever he plays. Though when cornered, we blurt out our past records and glory but currently Liverpool are definitely seen as a ever growing threat under the guidelight of Klopp.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 13:55:21
The English game is followed globally, and obviously there's a direct link between titles and popularity and perception. While we were winning titles in the 70's and 80's there's no doubt we were the kings of the game. Much like the AC Milan, Bayern, Real, Ajax and Dynamos of the past. But others moved up (while we stagnated) and then our trajectory has been up and down in fits and starts. Jurgen Klopp has given supporters hope that we can regain some of the lost stature.

It's also a question of generations. The older generations know about the past (many having lived through those moments) . The younger ones have only read or youtubed about the past, and it's not the same thing. Their loyalties go to the recent and current winners. People see us as an important team that's always top of mind (if you're a football fan) but not necessarily at the peak of our game. That's how I see it.

Phil Jones without the injury problems would by now be Utd and England captain.
I would sign him in the morning as he is that good a player.

{Ed025's Note - hes poor imo mate..

Out with the old, in with the new.

I think Couts and Firminio will miss him, I think Lucas guided them in the early days.
They seemed quite close.

Would the transfer fee have to be fully paid in 3 years if the players contract was for 3 years?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

If he prefers to play for another club before LFC, then let him off,

As long as the clubs interests are looked after, good luck to the lad,

What will we do? Put him training on his own? Or like Sakho with U23s,

100 mill. And move on.

Klopp only wants players who choose 1st to come to play for us.

if there was an enquiry or court case into these transfer dealings, and the post above was our clubs explanation of our actions,

We would have the book thrown at us!
