Last night's match has me still smiling, what a complete performance 4 really flattered Leicester. Allisson never had a save to make . Trent outstanding. Joe and VVD proving to be the best pairing . Robertson just being Robertson. Henderson visibly growing into one of our best leaders and captains in recent memory . Gini and Naby never stop making themselves available. The front 3 must be a nightmare for opposition defences . Substitutions just come in to matches doesn't effect our dynamic . The body language during goal celebrations proves the team spirit is huge . What a time to be a red Klopp has done a truly magnificent job . He's like a modern day German Shankly .

We missed some really big sitters. A big concern if that keeps happening we might drop points.
As last season shows draws can really affect the table. Four or five draws could really open the door for city to catch us.

2.) 27 Dec 2019 14:54:41
In my opinion it was One of the best performances I have seen us have under Klopp. We completely controlled the game and made Leicester look average and us in a totally different league. I thought Joe was outstanding which was really pleasing to see. Trent was sensational down the right and I think Leicester players will be having nightmares about him for next few weeks. Mane and Salah were not their usual clinical selfs but we still won 4-0 and that shows what a great team and squad we are. I thought the midfield 3 were brilliant and controlled the whole game. Only disappointing thing for me was Bobby didn’t get a hat trick of which he deserved. Onto Wolves next who will offer a threat but this side is looking so composed and oozing class. Just think we still have Matip, Fab, Ox and Minamino to come into the squad for selection. What a time to be a LFC fan.

Happy Xmas to all Reds and Eds.
Walter, this Liverpool team is the real deal.
The goals are being scored all around the team now.
We’re not reliant on any one player, and don’t forget that there’s Minamino to come in the New Year too.
Just enjoy it mate, believe me when I say the football is as good as anything I’ve seen in 47 years (ooofff) of following the Reds.

{Ed047's Note - I’ve watched Liverpool for maybe a little longer and I’m with you, this team is awesome.

Everything about Liverpool is what every fan would want their team to be from top to bottom.

Genuinely love watching you guys play and if there is to be a new invincibles I have no problem with it being this team!

4.) 27 Dec 2019 16:29:00
God I love you negative Walter 😀.

5.) 27 Dec 2019 17:19:05
Really Davey? I find him tiresome and attention seeking.

6.) 27 Dec 2019 17:36:10
Sorry to hear that Seano, wishing you a happy new year none the less.
I thought my post was a valid point. As seen last year city can go on an amazing run. If we did, but hopefully not draw several times then it would open the door for them to catch us.
Let's hope we continue the good form.

7.) 27 Dec 2019 17:59:19
Walter we certainly did miss some chances but I’ve rarely seen a game of football where a team converts every single chance they get. What about positives? Did you see any positives in the game? All good and well to be critical but surely it wasn’t all doom and gloom for you mate.

8.) 27 Dec 2019 18:08:38
Kind of reminded me a little of the 5 nil hammering of Notts Forest in 1988. They were the second best team in the country at the time.

But this time Leicster only had 2/ 3 attempts. Truly amazing preformance.

9.) 27 Dec 2019 18:13:24
Being a 🛎🔚 as usual.

10.) 27 Dec 2019 18:50:22
Of course there were positives everyone had already mentioned them.
Some positive play and it was good to see Bobby get on the score sheet.
Henderson had me excited all match and obviously Trent is doing exceptionally well.
Let's hope it all continues and our wait for league title is over.

11.) 27 Dec 2019 19:29:25
OP, I live in Brussels and watch games under French commentary (I speak it fluently so all good there) . He said that it is the first time he has ever seen a team where ALL the players (those who start and those who come on or rotate) have the same level of performaces. He had NEVER seen anything like that before and I fully concur.

Last night's game was the first time I have seen LFC dominate a game from the first second till the last. Remember, we could have been a goal up after 40 seconds. FORTY. And we never stopped probing and putting their collective heads in a vice. The more we turned the screws on the vice, the more pain you could see in their eyes. By 55 mins, they were already dead on their feet and were it a boxing match, you would have seen a white towel flying across the ring. #DOMINANT!

Firstly I'd like to pass on my regards to Salah the poster hope to see you back on here soon .
Onto last night how good was it to win a match ugly. Thought Milner stood up to be counted when it mattered getting in Palace faces. Becker looks the business. VVD was a rock. Both incidents involving Salah thought the ref called correctly. Over the first 2 fixtures we've seen 2 different Liverpool performances both claiming the points. Long may it continue.

Liddelland

{Ed0333's Note - I’m sure Salah will appreciate your words mate. I have to disagree I didn’t think Milner had a good game and was below par.

1.) 21 Aug 2018 18:22:10
Similar to the Burnley game at Turf moor last season, its the kind of game title winning man u constantly won. They would look bad, opponent looking likely, the bam the rotters would pull it out. We played well for the first 30 mins but didn't have the killer finishing. Keita's effort was esily dealt with, he should have squared to Mane for tap in. Salah chance that Keita created I will never understand why he didn't round the keeper.

That palace side did play their hearts out too, Henessey, Sakho, Van aanholt, Wam bisaku, Townsend all exceeded their usual standards. I think we can hope for improvements and be happy with a clean sheet and 3 points.

2.) 21 Aug 2018 18:32:10
That palace side is good.

I didn't think they had a top 8 team but they have some very good players.

There is no easy prem game. Away st a ground like that.

Years and years and years and years on and on I watched United and said this is finally the year there crap, there awful, 118th minute up pops some nob head from the academy no-one has ever heard of and they win again.

It's important that when the team are as uncoordinated as they where last night that the defence stands up and boy oh boy dies it.

The other thing is, did you see how much better we looked when the captain came on, everyone new were they needed to be, and heist started dictating the game like he had never been away.

We still have fab for the middle aswel and an attack that was firing on all cylinders this early last year aswel.

I believe it will be manes form for the first 6/ 7 games then firmino and Salah will come into his own around November. Just a feeling, similar to last year.

3.) 21 Aug 2018 19:13:06
Appreciate the reply Ed0333. I meant Milner stood out more as a presence on the pitch when it was getting niggly. Our football was better when Hendo came on. One thing Milner can never be accused of is hiding or not giving his all.

{Ed0333's Note - I agree mate but yesterday Milner was just a body and slipped from his recent high standards, although he scored. Listen it was a bad day at the office for most of the team yesterday and im sure Klopp will have had a word and we’ll learn. Klopp alluded to it in the press about the wing backs have to do more and he’s right TAA is squandering some great situations with aimlessness, and that has to improve as the season goes on.

4.) 21 Aug 2018 21:38:57
There was one instance where taa overhit a cross because he chose to hit it on the half volley with power. He was in acres of space to get the ball down too. Completely baffled me that.

5.) 22 Aug 2018 04:59:49
You can only play as well as your opponents let you and I though Palace were really good. We were still good enough to win it though and away from home at Selhurst Park it’s not to be sniffed at. I liked the fact that Milner may not have had his best game, but in the circumstances I felt he stood up to grit it out when Palace was threatening to get back in the game. He didn’t take a step backwards and then tucked away the penalty like it was a Sunday park game.

I was wrong about him when he first came in, I wasn’t sure he would be best in midfield and thought he would be better out wide, but he’s getting better and better IMO.

6.) 23 Aug 2018 07:54:30
I tend to agree with Ed0333, but I don't think it's something to worry about. Milly will have better games, but it's probably time to give Hendo a start anyway.

{Ed0333's Note - the positive for me is that we have options now, and we can replace players who are sub par. Nor many had a good game Monday night so hopefully we’ll get our swag back and get some impetus in the next few games.

Just seen a tweet from Trent Alexander Arnold there . A family of a Leukaemia stricken lad asking some journalists and fan sites trying to get a get well soon card from the team for him. Trent jumped right on the tweet and is sorting a signed shirt for the poor lad. Touch of class from Trent hopefully this act helps the lad during his treatment.

Liddelland

1.) 03 Aug 2018 20:14:53
Bless the lad, so sad. Well done trent.

2.) 03 Aug 2018 20:28:19
Terrible circumstances but class from Trent. He's known for it, he's done quite a lot for kids with signed shirts etc at least we know he's not one of them youngsters only bothered about his own pocket, he does give back.

3.) 03 Aug 2018 21:42:48
I hope he gets well and lives a long life.

4.) 03 Aug 2018 21:58:39
The lad seems a quality outfit. Let’s hope any efforts made bring some happiness.

5.) 04 Aug 2018 08:06:30
Good luck to the little kid. Good on trent we can all follow in this young man's footsteps.

Looking beyond next Saturday and the World Cup and onto next season. I feel we can get out the blocks sharpish in the new campaign. Firstly we've got a decent starting team for the 1st match who won't be World Cup weary.
Karius
Gomez
Matip
Van Dijk
Robertson
Keita
Winjaldum
Milner
Lallana
Solanke
Ings

Salah and Manè are in tough groups so could return to pre season earlier. Possibly only Firmino going into the last week .
Compare this with our top 6 rivals . Belgians French Spanish Argentinian German and Brazilians who are all expected to go deep in the tournament. This could give us a wee advantage in our preparations against our nearest rivals. That's me also assuming England make last 16 even so only TAA and Henderson going to Russia.

Liddelland

1.) 16 May 2018 23:39:00
I’m not sure that the front 3 will put the fear into any of our top 6 rivals. They’d probably struggle to break down Cardiff if we were to play them early on.

2.) 17 May 2018 09:16:54
I'd be very surprised if any of our front three weren't available, possibly firmino if Brazil make the final (but then he's probably going to have played less than anyone else)

LFCohio the kit will be red . I'm not a fan of nike kits but if it's a reportedly record deal well that's fine in my book our main competitor have an endless money pit . Personally the only time I'd wear a replica kit is on the 5 a side pitch.

I'd be happy to get Fraser he's a pest and would buy into the work rate that Jurgen demands also played with Robertson at international level . He's certainly got something about him on the pitch and doesn't seem to have a massive ego.

Could be a great move for him. Sheffield United should be in the battle for play offs. Ben will be good enough to hold a place in the team.

This is the longest trophy drought I remember,7 seasons a season longer than the last. Any trophy will do me this season. In 13 years we've won 1 trophy for me that's not good enough. I hope we can juggle the squad enough to compete on 4 fronts. That means staying in the cups so that our young players can get a run in the team and be ready when called upon. Towards the end of last season we had Camacho Woodburn and Jones on the bench but I can understand Klopp's reluctance to use them especially after the Chelsea match when every game was a must not lose.

Another quick point on the importance of the goalkeeper. Our last 2 European Cup triumphs were won by our keepers Dudek's double save and Grobellar's antics on the goal-line during the shootout. Both men showed bottle composure and concentration huge attributes for a keeper at the time it was needed most.

I'd love Milner to finish his playing career with us and go straight on to our coaching staff . Complete pro and leads by example .

OP I wouldn't worry about other teams trying to copy Atletico just about everybody we play plays a low block against us. Atletico got jammy last night with the early goal and one of the weakest referees I've ever seen .

They'll come to Anfield and try and nick a 0-0 and I'm sure we'll take care of them at home possibly after extra time . Shaping up for another classic European night . Klopp often talks about getting angry and using it, this is probably the 1st match to trigger anger this season, we'll be up for them in the return I'm sure .

Hansen was absolutely class as is VVD . Unfair to say one is better than the other maybe best to wait til VVD's Liverpool career is over before we can really compare . At this moment Hansen is more highly rated for me with 8 league titles and 3 European cups .

I've got a pal who is Celtic home and away season ticket holder, he is very knowledgable. He told me VVD made is debut for Celtic coming off the bench at St Johnstone and in about 15 minutes he just knew this guy won't be at Celtic long . He seen the class and composure straight away .

Yellow Crown paints kit with Red pinstripes, first boots were Patrick with sky blue stripes given to me from my Dad's best mate's son . They had a French players name on them . Next pair were Puma Dalglish silver .
