How come we are the only club that are having such significant injuries to key players, other clubs too have players on international duty, they are not crumbling like stale pies.

When klopp first came we suffered lots injuries. Pundits all said he pushed them to hard. Maybe the time off has not helped the players keep in top top condition for our style of play, or it's just bad luck. We have been very luck for 2 and half years with injuries.

If only things are as simple as how you say it.

3.) 02 Dec 2020 00:48:36
We have 9 players currently out injured, the same amount as Manchester United. Aston Villa, Brighton and Newcastle all have 8 players out injured, Arsenal have 6 players injured. We are not the only club that has injuries.

4.) 02 Dec 2020 02:11:06
Remember 2 of our 3 biggest injuries weren't anything to do with fitness - vvd and thiago are both missing as the result of horrific tackles.

5.) 02 Dec 2020 05:24:34
Loads of clubs are suffering with injuries. The significance of the injuries at Liverpool, however, are the personnel suffering - Alisson, van Dijk, TAA and Thiago are all world XI players. Gomez and Ox are a few rungs below but still excellent first-teamers.
Another key point is that our two early title rivals have had no comparable injuries to speak of thus far. You could argue Alderweireld is key to Spurs, and Pulisic certainly makes Chelsea more dangerous, but on the whole they have both been rather fortunate when compared to us.

In addition to that, Klopp has always relied on a full preseason to get the guys fit and firing hence over the past 3 years, we are the fittest team in the PL and one of the fittest in Europe. Also, our medical facilities and Sport Science division are far ahead of a lot of teams hence, why our boys like the front 3 and VVD play near every game in the PL.

You take a full preseason out of the picture then, this is what you get and as many have said before, our injuries are not unusual compared to other teams BUT as has been mentioned before, 3 of our injuries have been either due to horrific tackles or the rank incompetence of the England managerial and medical setup. Huge difference here.

It is probably due to the intensity to which we play at, look at Manchester United who sit back and try and get teams on the counter they have very little injuries (no fact checking done to prove my point! )

The positive so far is that we are unbeaten in the PL, our front 3 have not even got into some proper form as yet and we still have some players to come back from injury.

This season the talent and squad depth is definitely not an issue. Interesting to see if this team and coaching staff have the mentality to see us through or will it crumble. Usually we are chasing the pack, this season our only real threat is ourselves. Masters of our own destiny or dream killers.

You say fans have to invest in the team and it's method, well every investor will always looks for a return on investment and LFC is quite poor at that. If you mean we must have faith and not criticize no matter what then you really are asking us to provide charity with our support to the club. The last time I checked the club is definitely not a non profit organization.

Eventually the owners, the sponsors and the fans will require a return on investment for the money and time put into the club. I think and this is just my opinion, this season is when the return on investment has to be made. We have all the tools, we are masters of our own destiny but looks like the players are all talk and no action.

The English celebrate these people who died in war but they don't realise the cruelty and horror they caused in the rest of the world when they plundered resources and destroyed lives. Not something to celebrate actually.

Anyone that doesn't care about how bad we are playing as long as we get the 3 points are really short sighted. When the 3 points stop coming then you going to ask questions which is too late. 9 games in and we are getting worse while the teams around us are getting better. We really are lucky to be joint top.

Ed002 you wouldn't understand because you don't support this club. Just moving on from a defeat is something amateur fans do. If you not frustrated by a loss then you aren't a real fan.

{Ed002's Note - Whilst not supporting the club I am aware that there are plenty (I probably exaggerate) of Liverpool supporters who can suck up a loss and move on. Being a supporter of Liverpool doesn’t mean you have to be bitter and twisted - although I suspect it helps. Look forward to the weekend, come up with some nifty ideas how to get a win on Saturday or Sunday(whenever it is). Should the side be tweaked? Both sides are a little predictable, so maybe a change of approach is due? Maybe play two false number 8s? Distract them by having all of the players wear eye patches and talk like pirates for the day?}
