Thanks for the update today edd1. It brought a smile to my face to think Leon Goretzka is taking a stand against political racism in his country.
All too often these people go unchallenged by high profile members of the public who call it for what it is.

The fact he read the autobiography and felt compelled to meet with Margot Friedlander shows he wasn't just going to donate to the Auschuitz.

{Ed001's Note - he does seem like a good lad by all accounts. Sad to think there are idiots abusing him now for standing up for his beliefs, but then it seems that there are people everywhere who think footballers should not be allowed to have any beliefs at all.}

1.) 23 Dec 2020 10:19:51
Footballers, formula one drivers, tennis players. People seem to think that sportsmen and woman are robots for entertainment purposes only.

2.) 23 Dec 2020 12:38:35
Goretzka has always come across as a good lad. He, along with Kimmich, setup charity funds to help people at the start of lockdown. Guys like him, Mertens, Mata etc have helped enhance the whole game with their work off the field.

And the fact that Goretzka has received abuse online for his stance against political racism in his country doesn't surprise me when Marcus Radford is the most abused sportsman online due to his stance to help reduce child food poverty.

3.) 23 Dec 2020 14:09:46
People are abusing Rashford? Lord above.

4.) 23 Dec 2020 14:57:26
Footballers are also human beings too it takes a brave person to stand up for their beliefs he has to be applauded for doing so maybe more will or should follow suit the minority always ruin it for the majority so stand up and be counted well done to the lad merry xmas to all from a scotsman.

5.) 25 Dec 2020 08:18:21
Ed01, these people abusing players for standing up against racism and inequality are part of the racist “shut up and play/ dribble/ drive” movement who don’t want athletes to use their media platform to join the struggle against inequality and claim they should not speak on these issues cos they are rich hence, drowning their freedom of speech.

Yet these same people cry like snowflakes whenever you challenge what they say with facts and then accuse you of drowning their freedom of speech. The hypocrisy is deafening here.

{Ed001's Note - that is a good point, they are very hypocritical.}

This pre season is driving me mad, of all the broadcasters I choose sky which only shows preseason friendlies on pay per view channels.
VIrgin Media has free access to Premier sports at the minute so I think I can watch it at my brother in laws. No it is now only on LFC TV or MUFC TV. These matches are in America it is hardly going to affect the crowd in the stadium if it is on a TV station in the UK. I prefer the old set up when it wasn't just about fleecing every penny out of the fans and more about players getting a chance to play alongside thefirst.

Mbwell77

{Ed002's Note - Why would Sky want to pay to screen a friendly such as that?}

1.) 28 Jul 2018 16:51:49
To keep me happy. 😊.

2.) 28 Jul 2018 19:24:08
Must be an oversight by Sky mate.

3.) 28 Jul 2018 19:32:58
I paid £5 for a month of LFC TV. Watched the Dortmund match the other day and hopefully the one against United tonight. It's well worth it if you just want to watch the Liverpool friendlies.

4.) 28 Jul 2018 19:45:45
I’ve watched all the pre season games on LFC TV, £5 Per month, no brainer really.

5.) 28 Jul 2018 20:40:27
I've been watching the pre-season friendlies for years on the official site for the same price, but I've noticed that you can get some of the streams on Reddit now.

6.) 29 Jul 2018 00:14:23
I got sorted and I am really happy, shaqiri overhead kick who'd have guessed it. I know it was only a friendly but I bet sky are kicking themselves now. ;)

This would actually make a lot of sense as when Joe Gomez is out due to injury we miss his pace at the back. If Alderweireld still has more pace than our other options, then our game plan can remain the same.

Alderweireld would also fill me with more confidence in games where Van Dyke is unavailable or needs rested.

I know he is 30 but his prem experience would be invaluable to us. Gomez or Alderweireld alongside Van Dyke and Trent and Robertson out wide, put Fabinho in front of our back four and it would be water tight. In my opinion of course.

Nobody said anything nasty I think they were just jesting as Krul signed for Norwich a couple of weeks ago.

As you say hopefully we get sorted soon to save all this speculation.

He was at spurs up to u14 level and then to Barnet. I fear we are not getting an experienced keeper in as number 3 especially as grabara has a squad number 73 according to the Liverpool u23 webpage.

We have four young well thought of keepers at the club Ben Williams and Daniel Atherton will be 19 this year Kelleher and Grabara are only a matter of months older than them.

Considering their ages should we not be organising loans out for them rather than signing more keepers of a similar age, unless the answer to our defensive issues is playing two keepers at a time.

To be fair to Henderson he spoke to Allison after the final whistle and both seemed to have made up quickly. I think as captain Henderson is a very balanced person, if he is in the wrong he will admit to it and not hide behind the armband. i don't think I would rather have anyone else in the current squad as captain over him.

Thanks reynard,
Would that decision just have been made as I am waiting for an email from the club for tickets for the Ajax match. I have gone from the football giving me IBS to the ticket office now being the cause. ? Hopefully it will get to me soon.

Pip Coutinho didn't seem to have any problems doing what he did to Barca. It would probably bring out the best in most players who want to prove their worth to the club who deemed them surplus to requirement for the season.
I hope he has the best game of his career so far if he gets the chance to shine.

I watched a documentary last night called Get Shirty, it was all about how Admiral brand came about. If you want to see some shocking kits they made them, they also made some really stunning kits too.

The one which stood out as terrible was a chocolate brown kit worn by Coventry City. But some of the London clubs had really nice kits.

Pity they went bust at a time when the revolution they had started took off into the stratospheric deals we have today.

The only club according to that documentary who have an Admiral kit now are MK Don's but I am not sure on the dat it first aired.

I have just heard him telling radio ulster about what he sent and received back from Klopp.

He is a 10 year old kid who wrote to Klopp to ask would he consider losing some matches to stop Liverpool winning the league.

Klopp sent him a reply which was pretty much a full a4 page explaining how it was his job to win matches. Very humorous from Klopp and the fact he took the time to reply shows him in a good light.

Mbwell77

{Ed002's Note - Klopp will have signed it but he certainly would not have written it.}
