Hi Ed 002, Looks like Keita deal is dead end as of now. I am regular and have watched more than once but could not find anything on We looking at midfielder. So any idea who we might be after as Keita alternative?

Me_Scouser

{Ed002's Note - If they want someone else it would need to be someone new as the others the club showed an interest in are no longer available.}

1.) 19 Jul 2017 17:28:55
Klopp burning his candle in both ends here. Risky bussines when thinking of the season ahead. don't get me wrong, Salah, Solanke and Robertson, good bit of transfers, but I'll be dissapointed if that's "all" we get, considered what was in store.

2.) 19 Jul 2017 17:40:39
Just leave it now. Move onto next season. Blew this window.

All eggs in two baskets and they've floated down the river.

Would like an update from macca to just confirm it's all off, but this is oh to similar to zielinski and kovacic situations. No news, getting told things but nothing online except negativity.

To me keita done. The owner has said he's finishing his contract. Deal is finished and I'm trying to get over it currently haha.

Good to luck to our current group this year and fingers crossed we have a great campaign.

3.) 19 Jul 2017 18:01:56
Patience is a virtue old bean. The transfer window has been open what, three weeks? I'm not saying we will sign Keita/ VVD or whoever, but I would like to think we have targets we are working on. Assuming Robertson at LB is done, I'm pretty happy with what we've done so far. Who has done better business than us to date?

4.) 19 Jul 2017 18:03:41
Theres still 6 weeks left, we've hardly blew the transfer window. salah could be a gem, solanke could develop into the next harry kane and robertson im unsure about but i said that about mane n wijnaldum. plus neymar might be leaving and he keeps raving about playing with coutinho so obviously he's destined for liverpool.

5.) 19 Jul 2017 18:29:18
We're going to pay an astronomical fee for one player like Neymar. Yup, dream on.

6.) 19 Jul 2017 18:52:28
As I thought we will end up with no one. Between tapping up players and identifying players we need a complete overhaul. From plan A to Plan C because we are careless.

7.) 19 Jul 2017 19:00:19
Sarcasm flash.

8.) 19 Jul 2017 20:02:23
Decimus you have to put a 😉 at the end or some don't get it pal 😁.

9.) 19 Jul 2017 21:28:19
Guess the question is, do we want the best we can get or settle for second best? If we couldn't get our first choices this window, I'd rather we didn't just settle for second best, as based on previous form it would mean signing Ox and Gibson, who are nowhere near better than anyone already at the club and I'd rather we just let Grujic and Gomez have a go.

10.) 20 Jul 2017 00:16:59
Maybe we will go back to the ox?

11.) 20 Jul 2017 10:55:27
I can see us signing Ox personally. Klopp clearly rates him, and with his pace and power he fits Klopps style, his ability will improve with Klopps coaching we've seen that in the past at LFC as well as Dortmund so I wouldn't be too fussed if we signed Ox could be a very good squad players to have.

12.) 20 Jul 2017 11:43:51
Seems to me that the player needs to put in a transfer request for anything to happen, maybe he is waiting til its confirmed whether we are in the CL proper, its hard to say

RB aren't budging from their stance that he isn't for sale and if Keita is as as keen to join Liverpool as we are led to believe then he has to make a statement of intent himself.

13.) 20 Jul 2017 11:45:03
@Motion Lotion to answer that ===> Everton and Manutd, sadly.

18 Jul 2016 10:39:29
Hi Ed 01 or Ed 02, have we actually dropped our interest in Chilwell?

Sometimes I do not wanna agree with Ed 02 about Klopp but the signing like Caulker and GW makes me rethink. Please God hope its not true.

Me_Scouser

{Ed002's Note - There is interest but an unwillingness to pay the asking price.}

1.) 18 Jul 2016 17:42:15
Eds realistically, are we actually faced with the prospect of Moreno being our first choice left back this season?

Because if that is the case, something somewhere in the anfield coaching department/ managerial team/ higher archy is wrong.

It's been well documented everywhere about Moreno's faults, he has been personally responsible for a number of goals, most notably in the Europa league final.

If this is the case it is a statement to lfc fans about the lack of our ambition.

(P. s) I am anticipating your reply will be more critical of my support for the player and team in general which I accept and understand.

2.) 18 Jul 2016 18:22:26
Who would you like to see Lfc sign for that left back position because as far I can see there are limited proven choices available?

3.) 18 Jul 2016 18:38:12
Anyone defensive first. Even a loan of a 30-33 yesr old to get us through this season until chilwell price comes down next year.

4.) 18 Jul 2016 18:47:07
If Klopp thinks that Moreno can improve on his performances from last season then that's good enough for me, he`s still young so heres hoping.

5.) 18 Jul 2016 18:48:13
There are plenty of proven left backs, who could well be persuaded to join LFC, for some reason we believe we don't have to pay high prices for good players. However extortionate for mediocre players.

kolasinac
Hector*
Gaya
Erkin
Bernant

All Left backs better than Moreno.

6.) 18 Jul 2016 18:48:44
I'm not paid thousands of pound to scrutinise players, so opinion doesn't matter! Lfc management is s paid big money to do this and if it is beyond they're capacity to sort this problem, what does that say!

7.) 18 Jul 2016 18:52:23
But Moreno is poor, so very poor. Even a mediocre left-back would be a huge improvement because he has been such a liability. It would be absolute incompetence to start the season with Moreno as 1st choice left-back.

8.) 18 Jul 2016 19:00:43
Maybe the Eds can give a better list of LBs out there. There good ones out there it is just going to cost a lot more money if you want someone proven. When we purchased Moreno couple of years ago everyone was excited, especially after the goal scorer against Tottenham.

I mentioned Eder Alvarez Balanta, he is a CB, but can play any where along the back four. He also just moved to FC Basel.

Ghoulam from Napoli who is pretty good.

Jonas Hector, Ricardo Rodriguez and Jose Gaya, but in those you are getting into the 20m plus range.

9.) 18 Jul 2016 19:50:22
Its all very much quoting LB's who are better than Moreno but it may be the likes of Jonas Hector simply don't want to come. Klopp has made it clear he only wants those who buy into the programme. So I don't think this has anything to do with money. If a top player becomes available and wants to come we will pay the price.

10.) 18 Jul 2016 20:34:58
Albeit in a lesser division, the bits I saw of Chilwell excited me like when watching Gomez for first time. I hope we get him!

11.) 18 Jul 2016 20:32:05
I wouldn't agree that there are plenty of quality LBs available to Liverpool. We don't have all that much draw to quality players and Klopp doesn't want to spend big on an average LB to only have to buy another in a years time if were playing my CL. I would rather we just stick with Moreno and Gomez (or even Clyne) for this season, make CL and buy a properly quality LB for £20m next season. Any opinion on that eds?

12.) 18 Jul 2016 21:58:48
I like Jonathan silva but much like Moreno his defensive duties tend to come second to a more supporting role p.

13.) 18 Jul 2016 22:47:13
Can't we just tap this Chilwell up? 😉.

14.) 18 Jul 2016 23:01:19
Assfg, how will you make CL with a young inexperienced and injury prone CB at LB and a completely awful defender an ATM for goals like Moreno?

15.) 18 Jul 2016 23:56:41
How do we know he's not going to play Flanno or Gomez at left back next season? How do we know if Moreno only played there last season because there was no other option? There's too many people these days who think they know better than the highly experienced staff who are paid millions to make these decisions. Just relax, it'll be alright on the night.

16.) 19 Jul 2016 00:56:12
Why dun we go for Ryan Bertrand then?

17.) 19 Jul 2016 08:40:10
Everyone seems to forget flanno can play there and we have brad smith.

Moreno isn't the best but if a player doesn't want to come we can't sign them.

18.) 19 Jul 2016 10:24:18
Sure thing. Another Southampton player. Didn't take that long for one of their players to be mentioned.

19.) 19 Jul 2016 13:49:51
Bertrand is a decent left back, doesn't get found wanting defensively and is capable going forward.

20.) 19 Jul 2016 13:49:51

Hi Ed 02, anything new on LFC coming in or going out? I know some of us have pissed you off but anything interesting to note?

Also Is Coric to lfc true? Anything changed since you had last update on him?

Cheers.
Best Site on internet. Appreciate the effort you guys put in.

Me_Scouser

{Ed002's Note - I have no knowledge of any bid from Liverpool but it has been made clear that the player would not join other interested sides just yet as he knew he would not be getting game time - so perhaps a move to a club where he is guaranteed to play regularly is an option. Liverpool certainly have atentative interest, as do West Ham, but were not one of the five clubs zagreb had said they had spoken to. This may well have changed overnight as everyone seems to think - but I am not aware of any detail.}

16 Nov 2015 00:59:49
Hi Ed 02, I know you may not want to speculate at this time of m year but if there anything new to add on Gundogan after he signed that contract extension. I did usedbthe search bottom but they seemed to be from the past. Any major update would be highly appreciated. Do you think Klopp will be able to attract him even though we do not need him actually?

Cheers!

Me_Scouser

{Ed002's Note - Gundogan was refusing to agree a new deal and Dortmund were willing to let him leave this past summer as he was seen as a shadow of his former (pre-injury) self. Clubs were interested, including Manchester United and Manchester City, but an approach about his availability was responded to that a three year extension has been agreed between the club and player and details are being finalised. However, he then again refused to sign the contract and all he was prepared to do was to sign an extension until 2017. Dortmund are pretty much done with him - he was expected to leave this past summer and they had already a replacement in place. Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Arsenal have all been interested to some extent or other. Barcelona may still be interested but they are certainly not pushing right now. Manchester City and Arsenal walked away over concerns about sustained fitness and form against price - they will likely see the risk as still too high. Manchester United may continue to show interest but will only bite at the right price - and the player may have reservations about opportunities at Old Trafford. Cannot be discounted. Bayern Munich failed with an offer of Goetze as part of a deal for Gundogan in the summer - and a second one including Højbjerg as part of the deal. Dortmund would rather not sell to Bayern. Klopp has said that he will not return to Dortmund to buy players - maybe he is lying - I don't know. If he is to move soon then Juventus and, possibly, Barcelona seems the most viable destination.}

1.) 16 Nov 2015 18:27:31
Gundogan? Please do not hold your breath as Eds will say.

I have been so impressed with this Lad Arnold. Been following him for two years now. We should try to play him on Right and Clyne on left if Boss has decided he will do without LB. Could be our Bellerin. And please, had Klopp rated Moreno so highly, Milner will never be starting on LB.

Me_Scouser

1.) 25 Aug 2016 17:21:05
Bellerin had a few years on Arnold when he first came through, so it's important not to rush Arnold, he does have a lot of potential though and should start getting a few more chances in the cups.

2.) 25 Aug 2016 18:03:49
Ballerin made his Arsenal debut in Sep 2013 when he was 18.5 years old. Arnold is currently 17 years and 10 months.

If you're good enough, you're old enough.

22 Aug 2016 22:27:39
When there was news Klopp signed for us, it seemed like 80% of our fans touched themselves. He stirred the whole fan base and gave lot of wonderful moments including two finals within 10 months.
Now into the new season we lost one out of first two games, the other one being a away win at Arsenal which happened only once or twice in last 25 years or so, and it feels like 80% of those fans are already starting to doubt him and judging him as stubborn and bla bla bla.

I mean, Seriously?! Our fanbase is seems to be getting worse and worse with jealousy and greed for success. and yes! . not hungry but greedy for success.

One of these days we will seriously turn into most whining fans in the world.

I feel we should learn to support better. This whining gives nothing but useless pain to ourselves. Getting hurt after a loss is normal, but when you whine about it all the time and keep reminding about it to others too, there is something wrong about it.

YNWA.

Me_Scouser

1.) 22 Aug 2016 23:24:37
Its just another season starting with the exact same problems after a 9 game intense preseason programme with plenty of time to work at these things. And ten months last season.

Yet once a team defend we can't break them down and that is part of why we finished last year 8th aswel as - yes we won - but the arsenal game last week with the inability to control from winning positions, think Southampton 2-0 to 3-2.

Lack of a top gk, were pinning all our hopes on a young boy when he doesn't deserve that much pressure on him. We haven't a competent lb nor a controlling the game, passing midfield (who fair enough we still never replaced when we lost Alonso) . We rely on coutinjo to win games, if the front 3 don't click then we don't win - we can smash city and then lose to west brom.

United are 10 times stronger than last year, city are, Chelsea are and we couldn't break into top 4 then yet we don't look any stronger, just the same as last year but abit fitter.

We wanted klopp to not only bring the press but the direct quick football, not the dilly dallying around. Its the same as Brendan, we batter a team and can't score and lose and its any other time playing like that we win. Its like just the same.

I said when he joined he doesn't want to be known as just this gung ho manager, he wants to prove himself as a tactician. His last year at Dortmund saw a change in style to a more controlling game and it took them to the bottom of the league, it wasn't until he went back to the formation that we want now when the results picked up.

He need to revert back to 4-2-3-1 but as he said after Burnley and times last year, he isn't just going to make changes or drop personal who he trusts. Also part of why he will struggle to build a dynasty like we want him to because he is too loyal, never moving with the times, bringing players back like sahin and Kagawa or sticking with players because he trusts them even if there not good enough because they work hard etc.

He needs to get ruthless and just say for example lallana, migs, Moreno. Gone not good enough for where we need to be.

Guad seeya Harty lad. Mourinho WR fee for pogba. Both top of the table.

Who does Klopp remind you off. Bit of Arsenw. How are they doing?

Listen this is an accumulation to all the disappointment of the past years, couple of wins and things will look up (maybe I am that fickle - or just after some. hope) its just hard watching what I believe is us cementing ourself behind the top 4 again, and not getting the opportunity of the injured horses to actually get in there since everyone one else - some needed tweaks - but all look like well oiled machines and us with the same problems

Same as haha what a waste of money pogba is, I wouldn't want to spend that I would rather give branno shot. Remind you of any of the other times we have said that whilst man u or someone else win the league and us sit with our Morales and happy minds, maybe I'm. glad we don't play like that, whilst there winning the league and were sitting. You know what i'm going to say. Just depressed, want ejaria back. Smash burton and then hammer spurs. Come on red men.

2.) 23 Aug 2016 00:03:24
I'll think you will find that fans of all clubs have a moan when their teams lose.
Arsenal is a great example of grumbly fans for no real reason.
I'm still choosing to remain optimistic and excited about this season right up until we aren't in the calculations for anything exciting. Who thought we would reach two finals last year after some of those dire performances under Brendan?

3.) 23 Aug 2016 23:44:02
You are absolutely right I am sick of the instant success everyone wants but the way they react when we have a set back is just ridiculous. We have a great manager in Klopp and I truly believe he will get it right but give the man time to work without jumping on his case every time it doesn't go exactly as you want! I get frustrated just like everyone else but slagging off all and sundry won't make it any better. I believe in the manager and the club so I am confident we will be successful again but if we're not I'll continue to support with the hope that we will. Surely that's why we are supporters isn't it?

08 Aug 2016 14:51:36
Hello Ed any updates on LB? A summer without LB this summer would still be unsuccessful.

Thanks.

Me_Scouser

1.) 08 Aug 2016 15:17:06
Yeah there's been a real shortage of posts on left backs lately.

2.) 08 Aug 2016 15:38:37
I don't think we need a left back, the squad is bloated.

3.) 08 Aug 2016 17:52:09
Ron, you are joking right? Because the squad is bloated doesn`t mean we don`t need a LB. Those two are separate issues. We need a Left back, end of. bloated squad has nothing to do with it and playing a midfielder there will not fix the problem either.

4.) 08 Aug 2016 18:26:34
Yeah I was hoping for a few more bites 😀.
We have needed a left back since Fabio Aurelio left.

5.) 08 Aug 2016 18:44:08
More like Steve Staunton Ron.

6.) 08 Aug 2016 21:51:22
Can Ballotelli play left back? Or Benteke? There must be a fringe player who we can turn into a left back 😉.

{Ed041's Note - Milner?

17 Jul 2016 14:48:53
Klopp calls Zielinski, player gets his head turned and have his heart set for LFC. Whoever is negotiating deal are playing hardballs over paying smallish amount. Udinese does not wanna negotiate. We need Monchi anyhow next summer. Putting in people like Ian Ayre and promoting financial directors as Director Of LFC is benifical for club in terms of Finance club can bring in not players. We need someone up top who understand football not just Money.

Me_Scouser

1.) 17 Jul 2016 15:12:47
Let's act responsibly. Stop calling the players before we get a permission. How easily you blame everyone Exocet to manager.

2.) 17 Jul 2016 15:40:27
Exocet? That's a bit harsh?

3.) 17 Jul 2016 15:48:20
all lfc need to do is support the the managers choice and if player is available pay what they want. an if it doesn't work then the finger can be pointed.

4.) 17 Jul 2016 16:11:28
harry has a point. i'm going to buy a lottery.

5.) 17 Jul 2016 16:32:03
How hard is it to just contact the player through his agent? Isn't that clearly allowed? Just communicate through the agent as a go between. No big deal.

Or if you do talk to the player, tell him to shut up about it!

{Ed002's Note - Right,

6.) 17 Jul 2016 23:14:41
If LFC would just stop tapping players up, maybe we would get somewhere. This is the same thing that happened with the Dempsey deal where we tapped him up and got Fulham mad and they refused to even sell us a virus, just like Udinese is doing now. Shocking!

08 Jul 2016 10:10:32
Hi Ed 01, where did you think did it went all wrong for Ibe who you and we all thought would have bigger future than Sterling?

Cheers.

Me_Scouser

{Ed001's Note - just happens sometimes, things didn't go right in a few games, he picked up knocks, confidence dipped and he lost his way a little.}

1.) 08 Jul 2016 10:17:57
Ed001 In your opinion is this the right decision?

{Ed001's Note - no, I think there are a lot of other players I would rather see leave, but I understand it.}

2.) 08 Jul 2016 10:25:42
Wouldn't a loan to a premium club have been better?

3.) 08 Jul 2016 11:19:50
Does this change anything in respect of markovic? Still think he'll go but he might get chances in pre season now as there doesn't seem to be any deal lined up for him at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - no, he is still available.}

4.) 08 Jul 2016 11:46:53
Edd001 is there any interest elsewhere for milner or do you expect him to stay mate?

{Ed001's Note - little interest mate, wages are a sticking point.}

5.) 08 Jul 2016 12:04:08
I actually completely spaced on brannagan posting the above, I think he is a very good player which renders what I was saying a bit moot, maybe a loan for brannagan then as I don't see a major amount of game time for him unless milner or lalanna are also to leave.

6.) 08 Jul 2016 12:01:10
I suppose lalanna and milner will be certainties to stay then, as I think one or both of these may leave at the end of the season wouldn't mind the club looking at a deal for a young attacking player and leaving them on loan at a club to develop for a year similar to origi, even though his loan probably didn't do wonders for him.
Is coric an attacking player or does he play deeper, I know zilch about him bar varying reports on here but a deal for a player like that and leaving them to play football for a year would seem like good forward thinking for me, especially if we also have the possibility of losing coutinho over the next 12 months.

7.) 08 Jul 2016 17:28:15
I'm a bit gutted about Jordan. I really liked him and i know he didn't have the best season but at the same time you can see the potential he has and he's still so young. But at the same time if he's going to be playing week in week out at Bournemouth and wasn't going to be at pool i think it probably is the right move, it looks like his confidence is pretty low so just going being a first team starter should get him back on track :) I hope he rips it up there!

8.) 09 Jul 2016 15:37:58
I wouldn't mind one leaving this season if Lallana left this season and miner the next because Mane is better on the right than both of them while at CM, they aren`t good enuff.
