I'm loving our season so far, to be within touching distance of citeh with 9 games to go is probably above my expectations.
Our 'new' way of playing this season, more composed than kamikaze has had good rewards however we can't afford to lose any more points.
When Jurgen first arrived he promised us 'heavy metal' football, for many games this season it's been more ' country music'. effective, productive but predictable .
I feel for the run in we need to commit to a more attacking style again. the substitutions today were baffling, Milner for Gini was uninspiring, fermino for origi who I thought was playing ok and Lallana for mane. we were crying out for midfield creativity and our two most creative in shaqiri and keita were left on the bench.
I know defensively it may have left us more open but we need to win games.

I agree with you, Molby. Nothing is decided yet and even Pep will tell you that. In a derby game like this, wehether you play well or not is not the issue. The issue is to win esp. in our position. Now when you create 4 golden chances and the guys fluff their lines, there is not much the manager can do about that. What the manager CAN do is make subs. that fit the occassion and sense of urgency of the moment and Klopp for the second time in 3 games, messed up. What the heck is Lallana doing on the field? Worse, why did Mane come off when you need a goal? Milner? These are my frustrations and not the perf. itself cos 4 clear chances are enuff to win you a derby game esp. if the oppo. had one chance ALL game long. On we move.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 22:36:01
I agree it’s too early to say it’s over, however our recent form doesn’t give optimism either.

3.) 03 Mar 2019 23:36:13
Milner and Lallana hardly have a goal between them, and neither look particularly dangerous in possession, I just don’t understand why Mané came off either.

The first sub should have been Keita or Shaqiri to inject some threat from midfield, rather than taking a step backwards, then Firmino for Origi and letting Mané play off the left wing.

4.) 04 Mar 2019 01:15:59
In 2008 when UTD were losing 2-1 to Aston Villa. Sir Alex threw in an unknown Macheda to do something different and they went on to win the league that day!

Just replying to “what a manager could do “.

5.) 04 Mar 2019 02:28:36
Lets get Macheda then and we will win the league! Simples, Harry you are a genius!

6.) 04 Mar 2019 03:25:01
Said the same thing just before kick off just another name. I said were the f**K is macheda and why is he not on the bench! Knew then and there we wouldn't win, FUMING pal.

I'd like to congratulate King Kenny on becoming Sir King Kenny, typifies the man when acknowledging that without Stein, Shanks and Paisley it wouldn't be possible.
Wether you agree with the honours system or not it's a long overdue accolade for him and an accolade that should've been attributed to the 3 men he mentioned.

Rumours rife which are being spread by a former lfc news employee ( well respected) that fellaini is being considered.
I remember these rumours being spread a month a go or so.
I can't see it for many reasons though, why would he leave the mancs (where he can't get enough game time) to join us where he would get less, he doesn't fit the fsg type of player (too old) and is a most un klopp like signing.
The only reason I could think that Klopp would sign him is if he thinks he can turn him into a CB.

Molbydick

1.) 29 May 2018 09:25:54
Fellaini as our CB? I'd rather convert Gini into a full time CB than sign that outdated signpost. At least Gini has played at CB before and we kept a clean sheet in that game i think.

2.) 29 May 2018 10:54:51
why would we sign Fellaini? Utter garbage. unless we need a new toilet brush!

3.) 29 May 2018 12:51:31
If we are going to want a lump up front for the last 5 mins then I would rather have Caulker back!

I thought Ings looked sharp today when he came on, his movement was excellent, 2 shots, both on target forcing the keeper into 2 saves.

Molbydick

1.) 17 Mar 2018 21:02:36
He did molby, I think he is a great little player. People talk about us needing strikers who are willing to sit on the bench but we have ing who could play great in between mane and salah.

2.) 17 Mar 2018 22:06:45
I think if Ings can get a good pre-season under his belt this summer, he could be that guy cos well, he understands the system perfectly and is a Klopp type player. Also, he will be willing to accept his role as Bobbie's back up. Not sure Timo Werner will accept that status.

3.) 17 Mar 2018 22:07:41
Super Salah, I couldn't agree more. As much as I'd respect him if he wanted to get regular football seeing as he's lost two years of what is a short career due to injuries, in my opinion there is no striker better fitted for a squad role in our set up. Sign a big name to that role and he could disrupt us more than people realise! So long as he's happy I'd be very happy with his name on the bench.

4.) 17 Mar 2018 22:39:43
Ings movement was top class. Especially with mane and salah running on the wings.

Fair enough if he looks for a move elsewhere as it's hard to see him being a starter. I would love him to stay with us, but he's such a good player a bit wasted on the bench, but atm our front 3 you can't really improve!

5.) 17 Mar 2018 22:57:47
Agree! People have written him off but even in a small cameo he showed his talents. Two very good shots and great movement. Plus we all know his work ethic. He is meant for Klopps Liverpool. He deserves playing time ahead of solanke IMO.

6.) 18 Mar 2018 00:16:54
Ings could be immense for us next season as an alternative or partner for Firmino. He plays on the shoulder of the defence and times his runs brilliantly. Firmino gets involved in the build up and brings Mane/ Salah into play but when that’s not working I just think Ings is just what we need.

7.) 18 Mar 2018 00:22:10
PeteColo couldn’t agree more. I want Solanke to do well but he’s played a lot more than Ings this season and very rarely looks a goal threat. Danny just seems to have that predatory instinct you just can’t teach.

8.) 18 Mar 2018 00:37:57
With top 4 still in the balance this season, Klopp must play the strongest team. Hopefully next year he will have the luxury of rotation to help rest Firmino for example, meaning Ings gets more game time in the league. I hope he stays.

9.) 18 Mar 2018 05:04:50
Ings has certainly played his way into our match day squad and first choice backup to Firms. What does this mean for Solanke though? The poor kid basically gets stuck in the same situation he tried to escape from Chelsea in the first place.

10.) 18 Mar 2018 07:51:23
Ings was unlucky not to score last night, he just needs that initial goal. you ban see he’s desperate to put the ball in the back if the net. Kop sang his name.

11.) 18 Mar 2018 08:11:28
I don’t doubt his abilities just his fitness in the long term.

12.) 18 Mar 2018 09:31:59
I trust Klopp in that Solanke could be a great player, but I think he needs a loan, Bobby first choice and at the moment Ings looks the far superior player to Don. apparently Rhian Brewster has been promised first team action next season so out of them all I think Solanke needs a season loan to a PL club then we can reassess. Origi and Sturridge to be sold.

I loved the reaction from the players on the bench today when we scored, shows a real togetherness in the squad.

Molby, and this is why Cou had to go. We do not get this level of solidarity, team work and team effort if one of the players becomes a cancer in the DR.

I really can’t see this happening, it’s not a FSG type signing. £30 million + for a 29 year old with no resale value at the end of his contract whilst we already have options in that position, as good as he maybe I just can’t see the owners sanctioning it.

I would start Shaqiri in midfield tomorrow alongside 2 of hendo, milner, keita or wiji.
Brighton will park the bus so we need some further creativity from deep.

I don't agree with the "it's bad for their careers" comment.
If we do have the 2 youngsters as back up they will both be working closely with the first team gaining valuable knowledge of what it takes to play at the highest level and training each day with an international keeper.
They will I'm sure still be given time to play games for the u23s and occasional first team games as ward did . On the back of Liverpool's development of Ward he has just got himself a nice £12 million move to Leicester and is set for life. I'm sure both of the young keepers would settle for that right now.

The only way I could see us even being remotely interested in him is if Klopp can see a central defender in him, he’s not quick or agile enough to play anywhere else in a klopp team.

Unless it's a greed thing I can't see Salah or Fermino wanting to move for a few years (or unless klopp leaves), we play exactly to their strengths allowing them to stand out. If they went to Barcelona or Madrid they would play second fiddle to their superstars.

My view on being a red and English is this. I would much rather see Liverpool win the carabao cup than England win the World Cup if given the choice.

Remember last year Citeh lost their CBs and look at the impact it had on their season (with the size of squad they have as well) . us not scoring is as a result of the team balance, the press is not as effective because our 2 best midfielders have been injured or helping out in defence and it’s what makes a Klopp team work.

Our midfield is way too slow, our game is built on the counter press but this current midfield aren’t capable of getting close enough to the opposition and lacks creativity.
I look forward to getting a fit Liverpool midfield back on the pitch.

If I remember, Biscans 2nd and 3rd games for us were against Arsenal and United, we beat Arsenal 4-0 and United 1-0.Biscan was instrumental in both playing centre mid, for some reason he very rarely played in that role again except if we were desperately short.
He came with a big reputation but sadly didn't fulfil it with us due to being played on the wing for most of his his time with us.
He did become a bit of a cult player for all the wrong reasons with our fans but I actually felt sorry for him, if he had played centre mid for us or another club in the prime of his career he would've become a much better player.

Didn't Henderson take the last free kick? Why did Klopp not have a go at his captain who obviously made the decision to hit it aimlessly into the kop end.
