When will Harry Wilson play in the first team again?

MrBonk

{Ed0333's Note - I don’t know mate my crystal ball stopped working last week.

1.) 16 Dec 2017 05:48:21
I’m pretty sure with Ox and Solanke looking for game time in the forwards, and Woodburn too, Wilson will need to go on loan to prove himself before getting a shot.

And with Ojo playing well at Fulham and Brewster looking special, competition in the forwards will be extremely tough. He’ll need to really shine in the championship.

2.) 16 Dec 2017 09:46:46
Never, he is not good enough. He will end up the bottom half of the championship or more likely league 1 or 2. Check out how Kent etc are doing.

3.) 16 Dec 2017 10:12:14
That's not fair. He's scored enough goals to have earned a shot, you never know if they'll step it up unless you play them.

4.) 16 Dec 2017 10:24:15
The fact that he hasn't been given any kind of chance so far is a concern. It suggests Klopp has doubts about him for whatever reason.

If I was him I'd be desperate for a loan.

5.) 16 Dec 2017 11:34:03
I think this is sad in this day and age that you are writing a 19 year old off!

they are doing the right thing, he is just enjoying his football at the moment. in January he will probably go out on loan. even if he does 2 seasons on loan comes back at 22.

22! that's so early in his career, he could be in our first team he could be anywhere he has the raw talent just needs to apply himself.

6.) 16 Dec 2017 15:07:29
I feel he is so far down the pecking order it would be remarkable if he got a chance, barring a disastrous run of injuries.

7.) 16 Dec 2017 15:13:21
Southern, you did not get the memo? You are useless as a young player if you don't perform in the first 5 games you play.

Hello. Is it any possibility that the goal keeper coach will be sacked this season. Him is the reason why Liverpool fc have bad goalkeepers. Is it any chance too get Hyypia as new defensiv coach and Owen as new forward coach. And who will bee buy as new center back defenders in January?

MrBonk

{Ed001's Note - no, John Achterberg is very unlikely to get the sack, Hyypia is very unlikely to come in and Owen is not a coach, thankfully.}

This post made me chuckle. When has a solution ever been to bring in an ex-player who has little or no proven coaching ability to sort problems out. Can you name an example of this working out, maybe one of the Eds can. Unless this post was to provoke a reaction, which if it was then well played, you got me.

2.) 27 Oct 2017 10:27:58
Well that woke me up suggesting Owen to be a forward coach lol! Why on earth would you want that haha! Yeah if that's the case piffmunda he got me too.

3.) 27 Oct 2017 11:41:07
If you want an ex player for a young coach then their are only a handful of sensible suggestions. Gerrard, Garcia, Fowler and Zenden.

(Obviously There are more well known examples such as Hyypia, Souness, Dalglish, Sammy Lee, Thompson etc but they are not going to come in realistically. Dalglish helps out anyway. )

Gerrard is already at the club doing an okay job with the u18's. Garcia and Fowler both have had short coaching stints at a lower level, and Zenden is building a superb reputation in the Netherlands.

Personally, i think our next manager after Klopp should be Pepjin Lijnders, with Critchley then stepping up to be the first team development coach, and Gerrard taking the u23's job. This will help to bring back a kind of boot room system where we can train our own coaches for the future, internally, and hopefully build some kind of consistent/ stable philosophy and style of play. Liverpool fans don't cope well with transition! So we need to make the change in manager as smooth as possible.

But if we do want some ex players around the first team to help with coaching, Zenden, Garcia and Fowler are the better options. Shout out to Ian Rush and John Barnes though who apparently help out a fair bit with the academy alongside the King.

Pining for the likes of Owen, Carragher, Redknapp etc though just because they are on TV is silly. They've chosen the easy route of slagging off the people who've chosen the hard route. So leave them to it.

4.) 27 Oct 2017 14:37:03
Zenden is indeed making a name for himself, I hope that LFC keep a close eye on him . Def one for the future .

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not looking for ex-players to help with the coaching.}

5.) 27 Oct 2017 15:05:42
Ed002 - good to hear! Although if an ex player did well enough as a coach to be worthy of the job in the future on merit of their coaching alone, it would be nice to see.

{Ed002's Note - Sure but that would not be under Klopp - I just can't see that happening.}

6.) 27 Oct 2017 15:52:03
I always thought zenden might end up at Chelsea. Good young coach and he does have some ties.

{Ed002's Note - Bolo was assistant manager at Chelsea under Rafa Benitez - maybe he will following him back to Liverpool?}

7.) 27 Oct 2017 16:26:46
Do you think zenden is up to the task as head coach though ed2?

{Ed002's Note - It depends where and when. Bolo is a really nice guy, is well thought of as a coach and is a very strong personality. He speaks English fluently - and he is bright enough to do what is right for him. The only recent vague link to Liverpool is that he advised Depay to look to Liverpool rather than Manchester United - and that ended in a train crash of course.}

8.) 27 Oct 2017 16:50:14
Cheers ed and like you say, once he comes back to Liverpool to finish his apprenticeship under Benitez, his training will be complete 🤣.

9.) 27 Oct 2017 17:43:10
Don't get me excited now would love Rafa back, zenden would b good alongside him.

10.) 27 Oct 2017 19:40:21
I suspect ed2 is playing with you hailstones.
