I’m going to be in Calgary day of the final for my brothers graduation banquet as a surprise (it’s going to be a busy day! ) .

Anyone know of any decent places to catch footy over there?

I thought I wasn’t going to have to deal with this potential cross over of events after last week 😂

My family in Canada couldn’t get their head around my celebrations when watching the 3-1 vs United at Xmas and just thought I was a little over the top. No way I’m missing this game!

On that note. surely if we can come back from 3-0 down vs Barca, Brighton can get a draw at home vs City?! It’s nice to be able to dream again!

£50-£60m on Traore?! Now I’ve seen everything - you must be basing that on him having two good games vs City this season because he is made to look above average due to his sheer pace, but his goals/ assists record is really poor. Don’t get me wrong, I like him and think he could make a great squad / impact player at a decent club, but for that money he would be expecting to start and I fully believe Origi is miles ahead of him as a footballer overall (maybe not miles ahead in a foot race though tehe) . I reckon Jota has the attributes to be a top players though.

(Sorry is the above seemed like a scathing message, was by no means my intent if it comes across that way! )

How are we classing 20 year olds as "not that young"?! Sheer madness!

Someone has been using the 'sugar daddy' cheat in Fifa ;)

Seriously though, fun rumour. Would love to see it all pan out, guess time will tell!

I would be gutted to see Milner leave - but I wouldn't begrudge him the opportunity to leave and continue playing first team football well into his thirties. as long as it's not with one of our direct rivals ;-)

I was having a conversation with a few friends a couple weeks ago about Moreno, and after a bit of debate we came to a conclusion that not many teams have a backup LB of his level. Additionally, we struggled to name more than 5/ 6 from the Premier League we would have ahead of him in general (I can't recall the exact list, but it's probably obvious) - I even had a United fan in agreement on this point!

In my opinion, he is a great option to have in back up to Robbo, if we can keep ahold of him.

That being said, I could see him doing well in Spain if he went back.

I've been having this argument with people - hasn't the outcome of the challenge always been part of a factor as long as with the tackle itself?

Personally, I think the ref is well within the rights to send Son off. As much as he may not have intended damage and was a freak injury, it was a cynical unnecessary challenge where he was never close to the ball and always just taking out the player.

Yeah, that might be a yellow normally but I see nothing wrong with taking the injury into account. Maybe it'll make the odd player think about putting in a dangerous cynical tackle in the future (although I doubt it) .

On the VAR point - if there was a table for handballs not called by VAR, Dele Alli would be topping that table. SMH.

I did feel for Gomez in the Arsenal game - not to be overly critical given their ages and such, but he was next to a couple teens on their debut so was always going to be a difficult on for him.

I'd back him to come back eventually, I think people forget how long he was out for after that broken leg and that he really hasn't played all that, uch since his leg break.

Some people’s (normally other fans) measurement of how good Firmino is drives me mad. The other day I was listening to a radio debate where they were saying he wasn’t all that basing it purely on goals scored - this got me so wound up I decided to do some quick research.

Taking Kane as an example - if you remove his goals from penalties (as Firmino doesn’t take our pens) and look at his goal involvement (goals + assists) it’s nearly identical to Firmino’s goal involvement and they’ve played a similar number of league games! (1 goal or assist every 2 games, roughly)

Obviously Firmino has far more assists - in fact his goals and assist number are only about 10 off each other.

I never would’ve expected this to be honest - but maybe creates a clearer perspective for those that rate one because he scores so many, but not the other because apparently he isn’t ‘prolific enough’ 🤦‍♂️.

I think with all things considered it actually was a decent performance overall. Southampton away isn’t a guaranteed 3 points for anyone, and if you take away the error it wasn’t actually an uncomfortable win at all.

I think the chances being worked up by the front 3 is very promising - with slightly better finishing Liverpool get 5 in that game and no one mentions the performance at all.

I think the team are actually looking better 2 games (or 4 I guess?! ) in this season than that many last time around (I recall everyone being concerned about Mo and the front 3 not creating chances) .

Next weekend should be a great game for the neutrals if nothing else!

I was thinking about this last night. Whilst not the most ideal way to win (ET I mean) . This is probably a massive positive given the boost it'll give Adrian with Alisson being out a while.

I was impressed with him overall last night and loved seeing how pumped he was afterwards. I am sure it'll do wonders for him in the coming weeks when as he is called upon.

I am not sure if it would be quite the same boost for the lad if they just won it in 90 mins.
