Hi Ed's and reds, clearing out my parents house I've come across about 12 sew on Liverpool patches all from mid to late 70's that once covered my pride and joy denim jacket, now in my early 50's I don't think I could get away with that look anymore 😂😂but if any one out there would like them to put to good use please contact me and I will post them on . Also just want to thank the Ed's and all the contributors to this site for making it an essential part of my day
YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - have you considered mounting them in a frame on the wall? Not sure sew on patches are still a thing. Not sure sewing is still a thing these days!}

Sewing machine for sale £50ono 😂😂😂.

{Ed001's Note - what about training in how to use it?}

2.) 21 Nov 2018 04:42:28
Sorry ed001 was that reply to me or a msg to Moreno 😂.

3.) 21 Nov 2018 11:01:06
What a nice gesture! As there are 12 of them perhaps each member of the winning team in the charity match- starting 11 + Ed manager, gets one as a prize? And a donation to charity etc obvs.

4.) 21 Nov 2018 11:56:01
Great idea, stoneage!

Wonder if we could rustle up some individual frames, with a little winners plaque on the bottom of the frame?

Would replace the cost of getting whatever prizes were planned, and maybe a local company would donate?

5.) 21 Nov 2018 13:12:24
Good idea Stoneage, it means ed1s team are getting them if that's the route nfh wants to go down ;) .

6.) 21 Nov 2018 21:09:05
Just looking on eBay, some of those patches are going for £20 - 40 each in good condition.

7.) 21 Nov 2018 22:32:38
A couple are unused and just checked there’s aboutb18 in total, here if they needed.

Wow Ryan Babel scores for the Netherlands, didn't realise he was still playing international footy, thought he was going to be really great for us but another disappointment to add to the list.

I thought the same thing. Shocking hair-do though.

2.) 10 Sep 2018 08:58:31
Thought that van Dijk shackled Mbappe really well, didn’t give him a sniff.

3.) 10 Sep 2018 13:37:19
How did you rate ryan babels time at liverpool ed 001. Was he miss managed. or was he never good enough in your eyes? I remember reading 442 when we signed him. And andy gray was really excited by him.

{Ed001's Note - he was never good enough but he had potential he just never put in the extra effort to reach it. Got caught up in the life like Pogba is doing.}

4.) 10 Sep 2018 18:55:28
Remember the Eds saying he would rather sell his shirts than train, not could be wrong lol do pardon me if Iam please.

Salah you are a truly impressive human being Sir! Square Tomato, stay strong buddy. Hopefully you will see a lot of people who you’ve never met care about you. Well done all on this site. YNWA ❤️.

Hi ed1
Can I check if u have frank worthington on your profile list, soooo much talent and what a character.
Thanks for all your great work.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate he is on there.}

1.) 17 Aug 2018 10:55:14
He was lined up as a striking partner for Kevin Keegan at one point and even went so far as to have a medical at Liverpool.
Apparently his blood pressure was showing as too high, so they sent him off on a holiday to Spain for a couple of weeks R&R.
Came back and tested him again and his BP was even higher, lmao.
Too much sun, sea and sangria!
Although Tommy Smith tells a slightly different tale, haha.

2.) 17 Aug 2018 10:50:53
I've a couple for you Ed001.

How about Robin Friday? - he sounds a real character.

Plus, if he's not on there already, I'd love to see you do a piece on my favourite LFC player: Steve McManaman.

I'm sure you already know tons about him, so I doubt an awful lot of research would be required.

{Ed001's Note - Friday was on there but Macca wasn't. What I know of Macca would not make for a particularly good article so I will still have to do a lot of research!}

3.) 17 Aug 2018 11:22:26
Did you personally rate him, Ed001?

He was always my favourite player throughout his time at LFC. Those goals he scored against Celtic and Villa (around a week apart, if I recall correctly) where he just dribbled around their entire team blew me away. I was absolutely gutted when he left for Real.

Probably Englands most successful export, too.

{Ed001's Note - he had incredible natural ability and stamina but also a tendency to run into blind alleys and a lack of intelligence. When man marked he was lost, he didn't have the sense to get himself free or to use it to upset the opposition's set up. If you can't get free, run the marker into places they don't want him to be, ie on top of opposing defenders so they are in each other's way. It is not difficult just requires a little bit of sense, which he didn't have. Also he became a bit of a blert after a couple of player of the year awards and got way too big for his boots.}

4.) 17 Aug 2018 11:36:04
Thanks for the response Ed001 - have a great day!

{Ed001's Note - very welcome PV19 you too mate.}

5.) 17 Aug 2018 13:08:58
Nail on head there Ed001, if Steve Mc was allowed run free he was very good but too often he turned into a headless chicken. Lovely hair though.

{Ed001's Note - he liked to leave it to flow free while he drove his convertible round Bootle. It was like he was auditioning for an advert for conditioner....}

6.) 17 Aug 2018 14:24:39
I watched Macca every home game in the Kop. He had a lot of skill but used to drive the fans mad by always beating a player then stoping almost so he could show off and beat them again by which time their defenders were always back in place.

Needed to learn from Barnes to beat the man then whip in a quality cross or shot.

He was part of the Spice Boys that all loved their hair!

7.) 17 Aug 2018 16:17:08
I sense a bit of Macca bashing here but he was one of our better players in that era when we were mostly crap and, I think, is still the most successful English player to play for a foreign team. Also recall he was praised highly during his time at Real for staying to fight for a place in the team when they kept buying players to replace him. Cracking player for me - had his flaws but always exciting to watch.

The Var decisions again this weekend just go to show it’s not working, we have gone from a case of having refs make honest mistakes in games (the good old days ) to a case now where even with the benefit of having slow motion replays to help, we getting more “honest” mistakes, either get rid of var or get ex players to operate it, ruining footy for me.
