Evening Eds
I've listened to skarkpod#12 and even though our 1st choice for the full back position could be sessengong (excuse the spelling ) could you see us rekindling our interest in chilwell looked great and accomplished when he came on the other night .
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe - and he would be a good option but perhaps a risk as first pick?}

1.) 20 Apr 2017 16:16:23
Cheers Ed much appreciated.

05 Jul 2016 12:02:46
Hi Eds
Rumour has it that Alex Teixeira is unsettled in China and is looking for a move back to Europe . Do you think we could rekindle our previous interest in him it seems that Klopp had a good look at him before his move to China and obviously rates him highly or has that bird flown the nest .
Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with Liverpool at this time.}

1.) 05 Jul 2016 15:15:52
If this was the case then maybe we would've looked at him, until we bought Mané. Now we have Mané we have moved on.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 15:50:37
He's struggled in a weak Chinese league, what would be the point of signing someone who failed in a league weaker than the SPL?!

3.) 05 Jul 2016 16:38:47
Because he did really well in a league much stronger than the Chinese league, and also the Champions League.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 16:41:37
I should add though, I don't want us to sign him, just the Chinese league point with all the other factors involved, including his difficulty settling, is a ridiculous one.

5.) 05 Jul 2016 18:06:17
I don't think he has played in a strong league.

03 Jul 2016 17:32:41
Hi eds any more developments on the Benteke situation have crystal palace actually submitted a bit and if so do you think they will increase it to this £30 million figure we are lead to believe that the club are holding out for cheers keep up the outstanding work .

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of a formal bid, but they have spoken to us and know the asking price.}

1.) 03 Jul 2016 20:11:02
Eds

Is there any interest in Mousa Sissoko?

{Ed002's Note - Whilst Newcastle has said they have had no offers for Moussa Sissoko at this time, they are choosing their words carefully as there has been a further approach from Napoli and they are hoping to get interest from others, perhaps including Arsenal.}

2.) 03 Jul 2016 20:48:28
I think we are getting worse s players than we have.

3.) 03 Jul 2016 21:27:52
You're having a laugh Billo5times.

4.) 03 Jul 2016 21:39:07
Ron name me players that we've got and tell me about them and what they have done I bet you nobody as heard a single thing about them.

5.) 03 Jul 2016 21:53:01
I bet you diddnt hear much about suarez, coutinho, firmino, can etc? Just because they are not household major names that everyone knows doesn't mean they are any less quality, give em a break ey and trust the manager, his reputation on the line, he isn't here to muck about.

6.) 03 Jul 2016 22:04:24
Well I've heard a lot about Matip who is very highly respected in Germany and I think he might be our best recruit.
Karius I'd heard of but he needs to improve IMO
Grujic was courted by Champions league teams.
Obviously I've seen a lot of Mané at Saints.

You can't tell me Karius is worse than Migs or Matip worse than Skrtel?

7.) 03 Jul 2016 22:05:17
To be fair kiz all 3 where house hold names coutinho use to be a left back for inter if I'm not mistaken, Suarez has a brilliant goals to games ratio for Ajax and if that wasn't enough he was also known as the player who cleared the ball off the line against Ghana with his hand which resulted in them being knocked out of the WC on pennos and if you watched any bundesliga football you would know who firmino was and the excellent partnership he had with Kevin volland.

8.) 03 Jul 2016 22:04:24
Well I've heard a lot about Matip who is very highly respected in Germany and I think he might be our best recruit.
Karius I'd heard of but he needs to improve IMO

9.) 04 Jul 2016 04:59:04
Billo, Karius and Matip are definite improvements on Skrtel and MIgs. That itself will be worth an extra 10 points next season considering how many individual mistakes Skrtel and Migs made. Stop being so negative.

10.) 04 Jul 2016 07:12:13
Dev, Coutinho wS never a LB for Inter. He was a left midfielder for them under Benitez and was very good in the C L especially the game were they beat Spurs and Bale scored a hatrick. As for those saying Mingo is better than Karius must have been living under a rock the past four years as Mingo has gotten worse with every passing season while Karius was voted the best GK in Germany by his peers hence, he's already better than Mingo as Germany is the home for the bests gk's right now. Billo, what ever Sissoke was good at and whatever he added to the Newcastle team that got them relegated, I want NONE of it at LFC.

11.) 04 Jul 2016 10:29:57
Billo5times there showing his own ignorance. Won't even bother dignifying such nonsense with a detailed response.

But Dev, where did you get the idea Couts was a LB? Must've dreamt that, he's always played as a creative midfielder, either in the center, on the left or in the hole.

12.) 04 Jul 2016 13:38:00
Sorry guys memory isn't as good as it use to be, genuinely thought he use to play there, maybe in the games I was watching he was just filling in there for an injured player.

13.) 04 Jul 2016 14:38:33
Dev mate, come on.

14.) 05 Jul 2016 01:57:38
Suarez, Coutinho, Firmino and Can were all well known players/ talents when we got them.

01 Jul 2016 11:00:20
Hi eds the gaurdian reporting that we are interested in Newcastles Moussa Sissoko power house of a player has the story any legs or is it lazy journalism as we are top heavy in the midfield stakes at the moment, any more word on chilwell or what's the position there thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The only approach I am aware of was from Hamburg.}

1.) 01 Jul 2016 12:08:38
Lazy journalism.

2.) 01 Jul 2016 12:13:37
Would certainly add something to our squad. Would happily move on Lucus, Allen, Milner for Sissoko.
And before we all pipe up about the youngsters he is a mug better player than them.

3.) 01 Jul 2016 13:10:44
Ill pipe up, yeah cause he really helped Newcastle stay up and did much more than Allen, Milner and LucAs this season. The Lucas shout is a laugh and would have Branagan in over him any day. secondly did you also forget about the midfielders were already bringing in. So by logic and us being only in domestic football this season, hell probably get a game or two in mid season if we signed him, would be a waste of even more money and wages.

4.) 01 Jul 2016 15:42:16
MrWjonesy, Who helped who stay up? Newcastle got relegated so he helped no one stay up.

5.) 01 Jul 2016 15:49:36
Danray, bro. Do you even sarcasm?

6.) 01 Jul 2016 15:51:35
Danray35, meet sarcasm.

7.) 01 Jul 2016 15:54:57
Sorry Mrwjonesy, read your comment wrong and i agree we don't need him.

8.) 01 Jul 2016 17:32:23
Better than Lucas? Hilarious if you weren't being serious.

9.) 01 Jul 2016 18:38:33
Isn't this the same Sissoko who Comolli tried to bring to the club as a a long term replacement for Gerrard?

10.) 02 Jul 2016 07:33:40
Pub players are better than Lucas.

{Ed001's Note - no they are not. If you think that then you should try knitting or something, as footie is clearly not your thing. Sissoko is not good enough, poor attitude, lazy, doesn't track back, and was a big part of the reason they went down.}

11.) 02 Jul 2016 08:44:24
Agree with ed1 on that, you obviously don't know much about football if you think Lucas is a pub player, and Sissoko was awful last year and it will probably reflect in the club he joins, I'm shocked he is in the France squad.

12.) 02 Jul 2016 10:06:54
Heavy, your post is stupid and Ed was right to give you a telling off. If Sissoko added anything to Newcastle then whatever it was, I want none of it.

Morning Eds
What's your take on Brightons Lewis Dunk as a CB would it be a joke to consider him in January or do u rate him at all, having a great season so far and along side Duffy was eminence against Utd on Saturday albeit for his own goal which was very unfortunate .
Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - god no, neither are that good. They are sitting deep, with lots of protection and still not going anything outstanding. Admittedly Dunk is better than Duffy, but he is far from the level we should be looking at.}

1.) 27 Nov 2017 18:53:21
CB's who play in an ultra defensive system, should be non starters for us. Now, I watched both Burnley CB's vs Arsenal and as a partnership, they were brilliant. Ed is high on Mee and right fully so as he was the one setting up the defensive line and letting everyone know where to be. A good leader and very vocal. Don't know if either of them can thrive in our system BUT they are both pretty good.

26 Nov 2017 09:27:59
Morning all
On reflection of yesterday's game it's plain to see that Sturridge is well past it, we might as well play with 10 in the team with him in it pity as great finisher but offers nothing now days, Defence:- look a keeper is only as good as his defence but mings is one of the worst keepers in the league he is simply not good enough and needs to be got rid off probably not till the summer if at all, costs us way more than he saves. Gomes could be a great player has it all if given the chance and a stronger presence in the back line to guide him Kalvan slow but solid what do u expect for £4 million at present id have him in ahead of Lovern and Maltip who is the poor mans Alan Hansen and thinks he's better than he actually is, hats off to Moreno after his midweek disaster played solid, did it ever occur to poeple that maybe, maybe he is out of position because that's where his coach is instructing him to be with the style of attacking football we like to play im not saying its all klopps fault for our defensive frailities and our defence are no worldies but surly they can be coached to defend a lot better as a unit . Midfield :- Henderson tirelessly works his socks off but alas he is too slow the poor man's Stevie G and it's time for James Milner to move on great professional but like Hendo too slow, negative and wasteful if we want to dine at the top table we definitely need more drive, creativity and pace in our midfield Naby will bring some of that but we need to add possibly another 2 or 3 along with Keita (with can and probably Couts going) totally over run in midfield today and I can't understand for the life of me the line up and the late subsitutions but that's Klopp all over lads, should have went for the jugular when went 1 up although resting mane and bobby in a top four game what the hell is that about. I like Klopp but I'm beginning to question him on simple things like team selection, subsituations and obviously our defensive strategy. I still think he could lead us to the promised land but we are 4 or 5 great players short of where we need to be and on reflection of our summer business Salah aside I don't think Klopp knows what we need nor how to fix our problems only time will tell. Anyways on to midweek and burly Stoke we should have more than enough to beat them just depends on what team Klopp picks and whether we bother to turn up or not. Sorry bout the lengthy post but trying to get my opinion of where I think we are not saying its right but just an opinion after yesterdays performance.
Cheers.

1.) 26 Nov 2017 09:55:59
Looking forward to our new central defensive combination of Kalvan and Maltip. Two minutes of my life that I will never get back.

2.) 26 Nov 2017 10:25:25
Was at game yesterday Henderson was linking play up front and back covering for moreno who you think improved he's got more telling off by his team mates than a spoilt kid always in the box and leaving his man half the pitch to play and cross the ball in running over jumping with his hands behind his back like a 5 year old for me herderson was excellent yesterday and a good captain.

3.) 26 Nov 2017 11:08:17
Hahha duffdog you sure you watched liverpool yesterday? Henderson was dribbled past 5 times. He hasn’t won a tackle in 180 minutes. He’s an absolute liability, sideways passing. No balls about him to get on the ball and play a forward pass, no tackles, constantly running out of position aimlessly leaving the back 4 exposed. Needs to be dropped ASAP.

4.) 26 Nov 2017 13:33:57
Would he get into the everton team? Nope.

5.) 26 Nov 2017 13:43:51
Have to disagree with sturridge, most of the first half he was very isolated especially towards the end. Yes he doesn't have the pace he once did, but he still has value if he stays fit. He should be used in the games where we are favourites, I think yesterday may have been more of a day for firmino, but hey, if Klopp thought he needed a rest.
Once sturridge had a bit of the ball, he made things happen, his feet are still good, and he just has a bit of craft about him.
Let's not forget he may be fit but he is by no means match sharp.

6.) 26 Nov 2017 14:50:10
Finally, someone who watched the game and saw what even I was seeing. Spot on, Duffdog. Hendo may not have had his best game BUT the kid run his socks off covering others which is a thankless task for the MOTD highlight-watching brigade. He was covering for near everyone on the pitch and I would ask for the bang awful Milner or the defensively absent Wiji or Co to help him out BUT clearly, they won't.

Sahko, take a day off lad. All the "sideways passing, Hendo is a liability and does not have the balls to play a forward pass" crap is played out, mate and frankly, it is becoming tedious to read. How is he supposed to do the forward passes when he is busy doing the jobs his co CM's should have been doing in addition to his? Did you miss those forward passes vs Saints and Hudd where he was brilliant or vs LC when he scored the winning goal? Like I said, change the record mate.

And no Lerchy, he won't make the Everton team cos he is too good for them. Why? Cos Spurs and City were interested in Hendo 2/ 3 seasons ago before we gave him his new deal. City got Delph instead (yeah, that guy) and I reckon he would generate interest with Spurs now, IMO.

7.) 26 Nov 2017 14:58:16
so we had Sturridge who was a yard off the pace, left on for far too long, Klopp brought on Lallana, who as expected, will need a couple of games to get match fit, and left his subs coming on far far too late, Mane on the 89 mins, what's all that about,
its no wonder fans are looking at Klopp and thinking, is he really the right man to win us the League,
he is brilliant going forward, but hasn't a clue about defending, or the midfield working .

8.) 26 Nov 2017 16:11:34
I agree with duff hendo had no support from milner or the Brazilian and was all over the pitch covering for others he was waltzed past time and again but by hazard who is not easy to get a boot on he is a good capt so all you matchofthedayers take a break go to a game were you will see the whole picture.

9.) 26 Nov 2017 17:30:10
Brilliant post, Tc. It is the same nonsense every time. These Hendo moaners are quick to absorb the other CM's of blame when we get a bad result but never miss a chance to blame him for said result. Or when we win and he plays well like we did in the Saints and Hudd games, they praise everyone BUT Hendo. I wonder why. Could it be that it's cos they don't like and want him gone at all costs? I don't know BUT their bias towards a capt. who takes the heat for his team and works his socks off covering for others who aren't doing their jobs, is deafening.

13 Nov 2017 15:19:05
Afternoon Eds

Any truth in the rumour the Mane has returned from international duty with a hamstring injury.

Cheers Notsozippy.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has said he has returned to be assessed - and until that happens anything is just guesswork.}

28 Sep 2017 21:53:01
Realistically what CB's could you see us going for if any in January. I'd like your opinion on Klopps continual rotation of his backline and keeper and do you think it's about time we went to playing with a back 5 if he is so adamant on the likes of Moreno getting forward all the time and leaving us so exposed.

1.) 29 Sep 2017 06:25:42
I posted on the rotation thing a few weeks ago and completely agree. We need a steady 4 so they develop an understanding.

Personally think the hole defensive issue, including not bring a decent LB and CB is a complete joke.

2.) 29 Sep 2017 07:58:50
Shall we not see how Robertson develops before we claim we haven't bought a 'decent' LB?!? He's looked at least decent to me in his appearances so far.

3.) 29 Sep 2017 10:05:19
I think the rotation issue is the thing that drives me most mad about klopp. The defence seems to struggle anyway, it just cannot help to have a different set of players every game. That and his subs, still I wouldn't swap klopp right now, happy to give him time but he does do things that hand you a stick to beat him with sometimes.

4.) 29 Sep 2017 18:52:41
Spot on, Lfchopeful. Our defence is not very good already so why Klopp does not stick with a set back line and a GK or the long haul, is beyond belief. We cannot sign anyone right now so the best thing to do is stick with a back 5 and hopefully, playing together and working for and with each other will foster better communication and help mitigate against our issues. Klopp needs to sort this part of the problem out.

09 Sep 2017 14:50:44
Ok on reflection and now that my heart has calmed down a bit a red card was probably the correct decision but what else did we learn today aside from that, not a lot that we didn't already know, look city are a top class side who can pay whatever price they want for the best players in the world their back 5 cost nearly £250 million they have an abundance of class at their disposal all over the pitch so getting bet 5 nil with 10 men although hard to swallow is a reflection of where are at the moment defensively poor as a team. We have great attacking options but defensively as a unit and individually we are just not good enough. We have a saying " you get what u pay for " and we unfortunately don't have the riches that city, utd and chelski have to splash on the best players, we do however have a serious poor defence which will cost us time and time again this season as it has for the last few years but the fact that this has not been addressed yet again will make it extremely difficult for us to achieve top 4 this season IMO .

1.) 09 Sep 2017 15:47:02
Hang on a minute NOTSOZIPPY, CITY MIGHT HAVE THE RICHES BUT THERE STILL SHOCKING AT THE BACK, OTAMENDI, STONES, MANGALA, spent millions on them and still crap, don't let the result cloud your judgement. the finger of suspicion should be pointed at SALAH, GOT TO IMPROVE END PRODUCT, or we will forever be the bridesmaid. as I said at the start of the season KLOPP will be judged this season.

Crazy in what way Big Al that our defence is rubbish and our manager does not have the intelligence to change things when they are going wrong but ultimately waits till things capitulate and then makes the change that should have been made well in advance . No doubting how brilliant we are going forward but you can't expect to go out and win every game 3:2 or 4:3 we just don't have the defence to be serious challengers this season.

18 months into his job and he has done nothing to sort out the worst defence we have ever had starting to loose faith never mind have trust in him .

Great post Seano would agree with u 100 percent on all issues and player ratings from today, right from the off citie were biting into tackles while we wimped out of way too many Henderson gets a hard time from people about his final pass but on thing is for sure he was the only player who gave 100% commitment today our defence is a shambles and our manager doesn't seem to be too bothered by this underling problem as he is happy to waste millions on mediocre attacking squad players instead .

Just finished my second box of Kleenex there now Davey 😭😭 all I was trying to state was what seemed so positive before the transfer window opened has been very disappointing if you think that this squad minus Couts will really challenge this year then your deluded my friend.
