Q for eds. Given that it looks likely Borini will be on his way in January, and depending on what you hear, possibly Mario as well if a buyer could be found, as it would appear that no further transfer funds will be made available other than the money from these potential sales, are you aware of any strikers we are scouting who would cost the same to buy or would we just persevere with what is left and gamble on Sturridge being fit?

{Ed002's Note - The club will need to drop their financial expectations for the sale of Balotelli to around half to stand any chance of selling him in January. I am by no means sure that Borini will be sold, but he may well be available. If both were sold I would expect there is a chance that an alternate solution to be sought even though the club has Sturridge, Lambert and Yetsil with Origi arriving in the summer and Aspas returning. However, you have to ask yourself that if the owners are going to push ahead and replace the manager, would they want to be giving more money to Rodgers at this time?}

I wouldn't read too much into Bony's performance today. If discussions are taking place about a potential move, the last thing he is going to do is charge around the pitch at 100mph and risk getting injured. If the club feel he is right for the team, they will have analysed him during his performances last year, not on today.

Ed002 - re your earlier comment ref yesil, you clearly feel he is close the first team squad? If so, what do you see as his strengths, and if he were on the fringes of the first team squad wouldn't it be better for him to be loaned out for a year?

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea if he will be loaned out.}

Hi eds, just want to get your thoughts on how the current scouting operation is set up. It appears to me that our scouting is pretty one dimensional in that it appears we focus on looking at the European market. I guess I'm thinking of aspas and Alberto. For the money we paid, can't believe that there isn't some young British talent in the championship/lower leagues that could do a better job? Maybe players like Danny Ings and Charlie Austin just as an example. Does the club still look at the lower leagues in England for players or just focus on European leagues?

Thanks.

Paolosondico

{Ed002's Note - There will be scouts looking at lower leagues, and there is a scouting system in South America and there will be connections elsewhere, Africa, Australia etc.. It is the same for many clubs but obviously different rules apply about players from Africa, work permits etc. so the majority will be European.}
