Eds, have you heard anything about any clubs interested in any of our current players? Apart
from Real's interest in Suarez? I did read something
about Everton interesed in Joe Allen?

RedAce

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from Spain in Suso. Wisdom will attract interest from lower-tier sides. Napoli would like to do a deal for Pepe. Enrique has potential suitors in Southampton but they may challenge Liverpool for a left back if Shaw moves on. Real Madrid are joined by Barcelona in their interest in Suarez. I suspect Aspas will be of interest to clubs in Spain but money may be an issue. Alberto, maybe.}

Cavani to Liverpool for 60mil if Suarez leaves!
Now that's what I call a real rumour,
Source: - maybe not too reliable?

Eds, How much money would think Daniel Sturridge is worth now? We bought him for 12mil? I just wonder if Chelsea would have the cheek to bid for him in the summer because they need a goal scorer and there was one already there right under their nose.

RedAce

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea has other plans for the summer regarding strikers so you don't need to worry about Sturridge re-joining them.}

Quote from the a web site pages:

Because Yevhen Konoplyanka is an international deal Liverpool have an extra hour to file the paperwork. But there's still no word from Liverpool.

Not over yet then? Is that true eds?

RedAce

{Ed001's Note - that is correct but it does seem it is completely dead.}

Ed002, let's banter a bit, since you are cheslea follower - What if Chelsea come in with a 50+ mil bid for Suarez in Janauray? They need a goal scorer to
get their title challenge back on track and
and Luis really fits the bill for that. Could you ever see a bid happenning in January or have you ever heard any roumours oif interest in Luis from chelsea? You could respond by saying that you would be doubtful LFC are interested in a sale of Suarez now, but is that really in the clubs hands? Do you know if Suarez has a sell out clause in his last contract?

{Ed002's Note - The situation is that the expectation that Real Madrid would make a significant bid for Suarez in January has wavered slightly. Whilst we know that Suarez told another player that he will win the Champions League with Real Madrid this season, his representatives are looking at hedging their bets and have recently approached four other clubs to see if they would be looking to bid in January. There is no secret but the four club are Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus and PSG. Real Madrid are certainly continuing to look for a striker in January, so we will see if they make a move for Suarez or not. Liverpool, I would expect, will want him to stay until the end of the season. As for any "clauses", the issue in the summer was over a verbal agreement that Suarez and his folks believed existed in terms of him being allowed to move if an offer of over £40M was made - hence the Arsenal bid and much of the disruption that we saw. I was never convinced he wanted to move to Arsenal but suspect he would have done if needs be. As for Chelsea, I would very much doubt they will be making an offer for Suarez in the summer.}

Spanish window closes tomorrow. Got to sell Coutinho for as much as we can get before then. Bad influence in changing room. Don't need to make same mistakes as arsenal, Monaco, saints on not selling.
Remembering Tores sulking on pitch. Get rid now.

Selling w/ o a replacement is stupid and bad business. You don't cut your nose to spite your face. Suarez did worse and still found his way back into the team after being dealt with decisively for his conduct.

Was recently looking through some of the past comments on Coutinho (gr8 search function! ) - See below. Food for thought but he really came on a lot at LFC. I remember when he first came I thought he was a bit physically weak, could not shoot on goal for toffee, but now he's valued at around 160mil! Keep thinking how good AOC would be now if he signed for us 4 years ago.

01 Jan 2014 16:34:40
How good could Coutinho be if he could shoot on target?

01 Jan 2014 17:02:19
Probably he would become the best striker.
He should pass more than shoot.

How good will he be when he is a complete player?

He's young with plenty to learn so it will come with time.

I agree Davey, give him a little Tim lads as he's still only 21 which really is pretty young in footballing terms

01 Jan 2014 20:30:16
Felt sorry for him after that amazing solo effort in the 90 minutes or so from the halfway line. Skips past three/ four players with ease, skill and grace then seems to not be able to score.

He knows he has missed a few recently so probably just feels he needs to score - thus taking more chances. Still, he is only 21 and will undoubtedly improve.

Just heard Mignolet failed a medical at Napoli. He dropped his own balls when he coughed.

RedAce

1.) 29 Aug 2017 22:19:18

Anyone else rather have Rafa back than see Ancelotti at Anfield?

Who will be taking charge during the time taken to appoint a new manager?

RedAce

1.) 05 Oct 2015 08:19:09
Maybe he can bring Torres with him

2.) 05 Oct 2015 08:49:01
The sacking was well timed.

No Liverpool games until 17th October when we face Tottenham.

3.) 05 Oct 2015 09:17:58
Rafa rafa rafa do us a favour lad go have another dump your still talking ****

4.) 05 Oct 2015 09:22:28
you say well timed but was it really as there is an international break so whoever comes in hasn't really got a lot of time to bond with the team as such and get his views across

We might be out of the cup, but with the exception of Mario, we've a football team back again.
Rejoice Folks

RedAce

1.) Why bash mario? without his goal we won't be in that cup

2.) Well that's a complete fabrication AK, it would have meant penalties, but it wouldn't have meant automatic knock out. People can bash him a smuch as they want, he wasted posession, was lazy, made completely baffling runs, we looked a lot worse once he came on for lazar

3.) 28 Jan 2015 12:37:41
His runs were very strange and although tried more then normal wasn't as much as is needed.

But he hardly wasted passion (made 1 bad pass but lucas' foul was rash) he actually was one of the few players who could control the ball, create space and slip a pass to someone.

Stevie wasted possession constantly but trying to hit long range passes instead of playing it through, lucas missed a lot of passes as well - he was fair from good mario but wasn't entirely his fault. Can's penalty in the first leg was daft and skrtel's foul in the first half should have been another daft penalty to give away.

Costa should have seen red, but so should have henderson and lucas for multiple fouls worthy of yellows. Added to that other players missed an open headers or didn't put away good chances to score.

4.) Roland-dinho totally agree with your comment.
Mario seems to be in an abusive relationship with the fans. He only cost 16m, and yes he's been rubbish at times, unlucky at times, and mismanaged at times. But let's agree to blame him for now.
He's only 16m, not 65m. So he plays bad, sits on the bench to rot and we move on.
Why all the abuse, even when he's not playing it's an attack mario day.
We've had many 10-20m flops in our team, why is Marino getting it so bad? Cause the 16m guy couldn't replace the 60+m guy!!

We all miss suarez.

5.) Balo was set up to fail and the media did nothing but pollute the atmosphere. He can`t do anything right and even when he does well (like in the Utd game), he still gets abused. To know that his manager has trashed him in the media at every stop and washed his hands off him YET oversaw his signing (even tho there were other strikers proposed including Remy and Bony but BR dismissed them all according to Ed01), is just a disgrace because afterall, he is an LFC player. I don`t trash Balo because he did not sign himself. I blame the man who passed on Bony, Remy and God knows who else to sign him w/o a plan as to how to use him.

6.) 16 million is not peanuts.

'Form a relationship with Liverpool' - one where we sell them our best players. Would that be that old relationship
called buggery?

Freiburg is a real nice place mate not far from the black Forrest he'll get to eat a lot of good cake. With a bit of luck he might pick up a bit of the local lingo which would be good in communicating with Klopp. He'd probably find a lot more cultural humans than he would going on loan to burnley. And one should always remember the Beatles came from Hamburg so Germany could be a good choice for him.
