Eds - heard a rumour re Keita that he's looking to move in the Summer as not happy with how things turning out. Is the time of the year for click bait eg Coutinho to Man U but wondering if you had heard anything.

Redonfield

{Ed001's Note - nope, the summer is a long way off.}

1.) 08 Jan 2019 07:51:29
That would be a shame, he’s only firing one cylinder at the moment. But his potential is huge!

2.) 08 Jan 2019 09:38:53
Think someone’s winding you up!

3.) 08 Jan 2019 09:59:01
Well we have moved away from selling Fabs so Keita is the next one to target. He just needs to adjust to the system and I believe the 433 system currently suits him better than the 4231 system. Just needs more time to adjust to life at Liverpool and a run of being injury free and he will be fine.

4.) 08 Jan 2019 13:02:34
His body language hasn’t been great his last few games that he’s featured. He’s normally a pretty smiley character like Mane. Hopefully it’s just frustration and he hits top gear soon.

5.) 08 Jan 2019 16:56:05
Here come the body language experts again. Lol.

6.) 09 Jan 2019 00:23:34
It does look like a confidence issue. Whenever I’ve seen him he starts off brilliantly. First 10 minutes last night he looked like he would take control of that midfield but then he lost the ball in midfield and just disappeared from the game completely.
I’m sure he’ll come good though he just needs time.

Eds- what's the latest re Sturbridge? He's been relatively sharp especially early in the season when he's played albeit not a lot of minutes of recent. I know he gets bashed up for being injured but has stayed fit this season. Appreciate money will be an issue but do you think LFC have genuine interest in keeping him?

Redonfield

{Ed001's Note - no, not unless he is willing to take a pay cut for a new contract. At the moment the plan is to let him go in the summer.}

1.) 02 Jan 2019 06:37:55
Hey Ed, so if the plan is to move Sturridge on in the summer, does that mean we may potentially be in the market for a new striker? With Origi likely to leave, Solankes future up in the air and Brewster still recovering from his ACL, it would seem we would be a little short (especially if Firminos new long term future is in the attacking mids, or is it still too early to tell?

{Ed001's Note - only if more than one goes. We don't need to replace Solanke, for example, as Brewster on his return is his replacement.}

2.) 02 Jan 2019 06:51:39
Sturridge's on 110k a week or so. Too much money for an impact substitute. If he takes a big pay cut like Ed001 said, then keep him till Brewster is ready to challenge Firmino. Otherwise let go and sign a versatile forward that can cover for Mane and Salah as well.

3.) 02 Jan 2019 08:44:33
Ozakawi anyone?

4.) 02 Jan 2019 09:52:37
Luka Jovic of Benfica looks a good player, currently on loan at Frankfurt. 20 year old versataille frontman full of beans.

Would fit well into our system.

{Ed002's Note - Jovic will not be moving to Liverpool.}

5.) 02 Jan 2019 10:04:04
If we are to keep this run going we need to be aiming to bring in a top class forward. Look at what we are having to content with at City. There wealth of attacking talent is scary. We have been lucky so far not to have any of ours out for any length of time. Fingers crossed may it continue. But I just feel with another top draw attacker on the books would also push the fab 3 even further. I don't know who Klopp may look at but he needs to be a top draw player then allow Sturridge Origi to leave and then loan out Solanke (I fear he may not make it for us) . Wilson will offer cover out wide when he returns next season but its the man at the top. Timo Werner would be my shout but he won't come cheap. He's going to be about 60m I suspect but he offers top quality cover. Which also allows Klopp to rotate more so in turn keeping them fresher and hungrier to stay in the team.

Firmino - Aguero
Salah - Sterling
Mané - Sane
Wilson - Mahrez
Werner - Jesus

I'd be made up with that personally but it's a big ask of the club to go for such a coveted player. Also it's a big ask for him to play as a rotated player when so many other teams would offer him a started place.

I feel we are in a great place and it's only a matter of replacing the out goings next window. But it's replacing them with a better quality that's the difficult part. Our youth players should be expected to support the first team squad. But without first team football many may become disillusioned and want to seek pastures new. So although we are in a strong position. The summer window is going to be a tricky one for Klopp. Does he stick with the youth or twist and build an all star squad which could be potentially the downfall our the club.

6.) 02 Jan 2019 10:33:54
I think its madness to let him go, Who could we possibly get of Dannys calibre who is reasonably happy to play back up. I don't understand why we would stick by him through all of the injuries to release him when he's playing his best footy in years. Besides, 110k isn't that much compared to what most top prem strikers earn, I bet Girouds on similar money and i know who id rather have on the bench.

7.) 02 Jan 2019 12:57:36
Does Sturridge really have a "calibre" these days? Especially the way our team is set up? Clearly he was a very good player and he might well be, in the right team in the future but i don't think that's us anymore. If we are to sign someone then surely it has to be someone who can smoothly replace one of our front 3 without changing our style of play too much. My opinion only.

8.) 02 Jan 2019 13:40:47
Okazaki from Leicester would be a good signing on a "free" he's perpetual motion and knows where the goal is, Leicester play better and win more matches with him in the side statistically. Definitely a good impact sub for us and a very good replacement for Bobby's workrate when he's rested.

9.) 02 Jan 2019 13:51:23
Sturridge will be gone in the summer, sadly he doesn't fit in with what we are doing here and his wages would be better use elsewhere.

He is a good player but does not play enough through injury or being protected from injury etc, that just means he is not value for money.

10.) 02 Jan 2019 14:22:22
He would do well in Europe, where football isn't as frenetic as it is in England.

11.) 02 Jan 2019 17:55:48
It’s no coincidence that the games we’ve lost in the cups this season has been when he’s played.
His work rate has got better but he’s still making the wrong runs and not pressing with enough aggression.
Added to that he’s missing sitters and if he’s missing chances from 3 yards out there’s really no point him playing because he does very little else for the team.
At least Origi will put himself about and try to run in behind occasionally.

12.) 03 Jan 2019 01:55:58
Sturridge got us 1 point vs Chelsea and Origi 3 points vs Everton. We have Origi as Sturridge replacement.

13.) 03 Jan 2019 04:04:05
Technically wrong. Sturridge got us 1 point, Origi got us 2.

14.) 03 Jan 2019 11:08:10
You are right! But that's not my point!

15.) 04 Jan 2019 08:15:34
I don't get the point!
what difference does it make to the quality of each player?

rediculous comment!

Eds- media obsessed with Salah reactions/ lack of celebrations re goals this season. Click bait or something brewing at end of season?

Redonfield

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.}

1.) 10 Dec 2018 10:31:11
The media are only obsessed with it because fans are talking like he is no longer happy at Liverpool because he didn't go ape sh*t scoring them goals lol daft if you ask me but if you give the media a chance to make a story, they'll pounce. All click bait.

2.) 10 Dec 2018 10:31:34
Salah lost his smile, it must be heartbreaking for the kid being at Liverpool 😜.

3.) 10 Dec 2018 11:32:48
Just done some extensive YouTube research and guess what, he doesn't celebrate much for Egypt either maybe he's going to change nationality at the end of the season too. 😊.

4.) 10 Dec 2018 12:10:31
I'll play Devil's Advocate and just say that if Salah is, in fact, throwing some attitude at whomever, then let him. He is definitely in the top 3 strikers in Europe (and therefore, the World) and he's entitled to it if he wants to make a point to someone. Whether it's the fans who doubted him, or the journalists who buried him for the season already, or Klopp who took him off in games, or even himself for not having the same goal tally as last year (possibly), the point is, so what? Firmino sent a message with his one eye closed celebrations, right? To me Salah is simply saying "I'm still the Man, I just showed you, and I'll continue showing you".

The key is not to be swayed in either direction by the media. I remember too well the false sense of security that prevailed when both Suarez and Coutinho signed new contracts and professed their undying love and devotion to LFC, as reported by the media in truck loads. And then both handed in a transfer request a few months later in the summer.

5.) 10 Dec 2018 13:03:36
If he’s sulking cos Klopp took him off, then he needs to man up. It’s nothing though in my eyes.

6.) 10 Dec 2018 13:29:50
Once again, spot on ra.

Anyone thought Mignolet might be injured? Isn't he cup tied now anyway? Also re Macca rumour - last time he named VvD he apologised for not knowing the club hadn't spoken to Southampton. He hasn't named anyone this time and used the word "finally" - he gives good mail - I am sure most people can work out who he may be referring to. Also te rumours Ox will get more gametime at LFC so if we match CFC I am assuming he will be with us especially with World Cup near - do you agree Eds?

Redonfield

{Ed002's Note - He would not be cup tied.}
