I'd rather we lose to Burnley and Bournemouth and win at Arsenal and Chelsea than the other way round so trying to look at that as a brightside. It's not that we lose games that is frustrating it's that we lose them when we either dominated the whole game like at Burnley or from a 3-1 lead like yesterday it's the way we just seem to lose concentration when we go ahead. Make silly decisions and can't seem to hold out for the win. We only seem to have one way to play and we keep rushing forward with quick passing at 3-1 when slowing it down and keeping possession wins us that game easily. Fair play to Bournemouth for putting us under pressure and getting the win but the way we seem to collapse as soon as a team score against us is scary. Makes for an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan but I'd love to feel secure when we get a 2 goal cushion for once instead of biting my nails and grimacing. It's clear that without matip our defence has little to no organisation and we could do with another CB as assured as him. Injuries aren't helping, mane coming off really hurt us. Hope it's just a little knock. And lallana can get back to form ASAP. We're not out of it yet guys. YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - but we didn't keep rushing forward at 3-1, we took our foot of the gas and they pressed us back.}

1.) 05 Dec 2016 11:08:53
Hi ed001, it's more like we re out of gas. Not sure if it's those intense training taking its toll. Origi had opportunity to pressure for 4th goal but he shrink back.

{Ed001's Note - no it was not. If you think that then you really have no idea what you are talking about. There was plenty of energy left, they just kept dropping off because they thought the game was won and then lost the initiative and panic set in.}

2.) 05 Dec 2016 12:41:25
In some way, that goal form Emre was the worst thing that could happen. It pushed them into a false sense of victory.

3.) 05 Dec 2016 14:35:33
Even tho it is never the worst thing to score a goal, I agree with your point, Nick. We stopped doing the things that got us into the position we were in with 15 minutes to go. That was the difference.

Bourmouth were never going to lay low even if we were up 4-0 because Eddie Howe nor the fans won`t stand for that. They played till the final whistle, we did not and that is an attitude and lack of focus and intensity issue.

The panic in the box was appalling each time a ball went into the box and this is where a leader like Matip was missed but without him, we still should have closed that game out. definitely a wakeup call for the players and fans and Klopp already mentioned that.

Any chance of putting the mistake by Lucas and migs behind us now and focusing on the fact that we once again scored 4 goals, looked extremely dangerous and beat last seasons champions?

1.) 12 Sep 2016 13:38:20
No. Liverpool fans will forgive but never forget.

2.) 12 Sep 2016 13:45:59
I`ve moved on.

3.) 12 Sep 2016 13:56:55
I had moved on.

4.) 12 Sep 2016 14:29:48
I moved on, then had to mention another point. I have since moved on. Again.

5.) 12 Sep 2016 16:11:07
id be concerned if that 1 mistake costs us the game, as we were leading 2 1.

i think the reaction was positive and the team did not let that mistake creeping on them so i'm happy. mistakes happen, itll happen every game most likely, bt its what they decide to do after that matters.

the moment we won the game, I've already moved on.

6.) 12 Sep 2016 19:55:03
What mistake? 😎.

7.) 12 Sep 2016 20:20:56
Easy to forget, but Chelski won't be as easy to take out with 4 goals. Therefore, we have to avoid silly mistakes. I would still be cool if Lucas at the back, though only if we added more grit in Midfield for the game. Can or Grujic, and Windaljum on the bench.

8.) 12 Sep 2016 20:21:32
Or, Lucas in midfield, if Lovren of Klavan available.

9.) 12 Sep 2016 20:51:52
I'd forgiven by half time. As lucas continued to dominate in the second half, I'd completely forgotten.

This is a massive season for us. with other clubs making big managerial appointments, a lot of money flying about and a team like Leicester trying to defend their title. I believe we have a great chance of a top 4 finish and two good cup runs. The lack of European football will help us here and hinder others.
I'm excited about the new signings and the squad Klopp is shaping. People are doubting the signings even after his record of finding talent at Dortmund. I think the doubters will be believers soon.
I'm excited about the young talent we have in the squad. Origi in particular. That boy will become a monster under Klopp.
We have some unbelievable match winning talent in the squad. Couts firmino mane studge. If Klopp can get them playing top level more consistently we will tear teams to shreds. So have faith in the manager he knows what he's doing. He's done it before.

1.) 04 Jul 2016 19:03:24
Fully Agreed. And the season is none more important than for Mr. Klopp. He has been incredibly lucky with a super extended honeymoon which will end this summer. We all know he was not brought in to finish 8th. Both the fans and the media have been super gentle with him, because he didn't have a full preseason, he didn't have "his players", he was brought in 2 months into the season and he had to deal with key injuries at crucial times. But, at the same time, I simply can't imagine the managers of Chelsea, ManU, ManC, Spurs, or Arsenal keeping their jobs under the same circumstances with the results that LFC got. Maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not slating or slagging Klopp in any shape or form. I'm one of his strongest supporters. I believe in the man. I think he has revived a team that was clearly on its way down. More off the field, than on field, for the moment. So that's why this preseason and the coming season are so crucial. It's time to see the "real deal" without any excuses to hide behind.

2.) 04 Jul 2016 21:16:34
jose kept his job longer than Rodgers? Now you expect pep or conte to get the sack if they don't win the league or get top 4? you've named 5 managers so one is going to be 5th will he get the sack?

honestly. think your p*ssed.

3.) 05 Jul 2016 04:26:58
lol ra1969, you believe in him so much 1 and a half years is all you're prepared to give him to turn it around. brillant support. man utd kept moyes and van gaal longer despite worse results. spurs stuck with poch - what did he achieve the year before? arsenal went 10 years without a trophy- stuck with wenger. jose was at Chelsea longer the Rodgers so in short yes you are wrong. klopp gets to 2 finals without barely a transfer made yet he's worth 1 full extra season or he's gone. I think it best we let FSG make the decisions as to what the expectation is of klopp and the progress he needs to make. we need stability.

4.) 05 Jul 2016 07:50:25
Plus when it looked like Europa league was best way back into champions league, he put indifferent teams out in league and best 11 in Europa, however after some of the results, had we put our strongest team out we would have been a lot closer to 4th.

25 May 2016 08:51:46
I for one am very excited at the young players we seem to have an interest in. I know we need top class players with the quality to usurp what we allready have. But finishing 8th with no Europe makes that extremely hard, extremely expensive and a bit unrealistic. Karius matip grujic. Are great business in my eyes. And I'd love to add Dahoud, coric, chilwell and Sule. We would have a squad full of top class potential that Klopp could coach and get them playing his way and improving all together. I know we all want success now but I think this could potentially build us something very special moving forward. As long as we can keep hold of them when they start to shine. Ever hopeful.

1.) 25 May 2016 09:13:47
Great post mate. Not seen anything of Coric but he sounds like a real talent.

Would love to land Sule, Chilwell and Dahoud though!

2.) 25 May 2016 10:02:03
Top post Willis, couldn't agree more. I believe in what Klopp is trying to build, and not all of us need instant gratification!

3.) 25 May 2016 11:25:39
Exactly Willis. Trying to get this through to some fans is a mission impossible. Anyone that knows anything of Klopp and his time in Dortmund would know that Klopp built his team with potential primarily kids, African nation players or players from eastern block countries where players often go under the radar. Only when Dortmund where in regular CL did he top his team up with the likes of Mkhitaryan etc. Fans coming on saying ooh now we have Klopp we can attract quality haven't a clue and are going to be sadly disappointed. I for one am looking forward to seeing these youngsters come in, adapt and grow. It's not going to happen in one season and we're going to have to be patient. Yes I may get angry at disappointments along the way but that's my emotions getting the better of my judgement, that's all part of the excitement of it all. Let's enjoy the ride.

4.) 25 May 2016 09:09:58
All we need to do is to offload players who doesn't fit in. Benteke and Lallana for example. Get in one top class CDM ( No more U19's ) in that department ( Stewart would cover him up through out the season. A brilliant wide player ( completely different to Coutinho and Firmino ) has pace and trickery also scores goals.

5.) 25 May 2016 12:12:33
I don`t get how you can see Lallana doesn't fit in he ain`t going anywhere Klopp loves him.

20 May 2016 08:53:47
Everyone asking for steel in the midfield. We have Lucas. Not sure why he didn't start the final. He would have broken up play with an interception or smart foul and not let them run through us like they did.

On another note I'd love us to sign dahoud. A midfield of can dahoud and grujic for the future with Lucas and Hendo for experience and quality would be exciting. I wouldn't change much up top other than offloading mario and Big Ben. Couts firmino and studge. With origi ings and lallana as back up. I'd like to see ojo and ibe get a season long loan to a prem side. West brom for instance. Matip looks like the aerial presence were crying out for defending set pieces. Him and sakho with flanno and hopefully hector. Full backs who can defend. And a Gk not sure about karius given his age but he has played nearly 100 bundesliga games and got voted 3rd best keeper in Germany so.

Offloading Allen Milner skrtel illori and others (Alberto, wisdom etc) frees up space. I wouldn't go for gotze unless coutinho leaves. This would be an exciting young squad that could potentially do great things given game time and klopps management. Any thoughts?

1.) 20 May 2016 09:26:54
Why would you send two of our most promising youngsters to be coached by Tony Pulis? Look at what he has done to Berahino with his negative, thug-like tactics! Then how he stunted Wisdoms promising career by refusing to play him for the simple reason he isn't 6ft5. Leko will be the next victim of his dire management.

I hope we never send a player there on loan again. Or to Norwich for that matter. 90% of the time, Neil is just a younger version of Pulis.

2.) 20 May 2016 09:47:03
You are absolutely correct, every leading club needs full-backs that can do their first job - defend. Otherwise you end up conceding 50 league goals as we have done for the last three seasons, although playing without a DM doesn't help.

However, you clearly think Sakho will play for the club again, so we will have to disagree on that.

3.) 20 May 2016 10:43:07
If the ban is 6 months then we should keep him in my opinion. Before the ban he was finally looking solid and like our best CB cutting out the errors.
And to mk scouser. Maybe not west brom then but a prem side that will give them lots of game time. They're not ready for us atm and with less games next season I don't want them to stagnate on the bench. They clearly both have talent but Ibe in particular needs to learn decision making and better his end product in order to shine.

4.) 20 May 2016 12:00:15
Do remember Ferdinand was banned for 9 months at united stood by him. Not saying we should 100% standby Sakho yet seeing as facts aren't clear but its just some food for thought.

5.) 20 May 2016 14:23:55
Honestly if I was Klopp I would consider selling Lallana. He works hard and I admire that in him but he slows down our play a lot and, ultimately, I just don't think he contributes enough to our attacking play. I'm not just talking about goals or assists but general attacking play - he seems so absent from it and with such regularity. I'm not sure he is good enough (if our aspirations are the league title) and, as such, I would let him go.

Gini was superb breaking down play, winning back possession, kept the ball brilliantly in tight spots. The pass for the goal was perfect. That's what he brings that's why he's there. mom for me. More of the same please.

Cyklopps henrik Larson managed it well. So it obviously can be done. And dembele is young so room for improvements.

Firmino has had no service the ball keeps getting lumped up to him. It's not going to stick. It's no coincidence that his form is bad ATM who's isn't that's in the side? He needs ball to feet and players to make runs. We're having a really bad patch and not playing with confidence and with short quick passing which is where he shines. One twos and flicks to bring others into play. While I agree he's not a natural finisher the pockets he creates by going deep and the amount of times he wins the ball back high up the pitch is integral to our good play. Can't believe people on here saying he's not v good? If we did play a striker up top then I wouldn't mind trying him in lallanas position because I think he's better and offers more bite in the tackle.

Even if we buy an older gk on the wain until karius is ready I would be pleased. Someone with the balls to shout at and organise the defence who doesn't flap and make everyone else nervous around him. Get the best cb we can buy. A lb that can cross and has some positional sense and awareness. And some one who can play alongside hendo or deputise for him in his absences. If we do this I will be pleased and hopeful that it would go along way to cutting out the mistakes and keeping us confident and composed in defence. in an ideal world maybe we get a lw or even a top cf but I'm being realistic and prioritising.

Redwillis

{Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen. Liverpool already have Manninger and he has not been used this season.}
