I was watching some old matches and remember Benayoun being a decent player. Very Skillful.

Does he just look decent when watching the highlights or was he actually a very good player?

Sort of like a Lallana or Coutinho type player.

1.) 08 Mar 2017 06:43:46
He was quality, scored some big goals too.

2.) 08 Mar 2017 07:46:14
i Loved him.

3.) 08 Mar 2017 09:45:58
Very decent player. Flitted in and out of games a bit, but like Luis Garcia, could really shine.

4.) 08 Mar 2017 10:21:45
Genuinely good player.

5.) 08 Mar 2017 10:29:24
Bit of a hybrid of Couts and Lallana. He was harder working than Couts, but not as hardworking as Lallana, but he was also more gifted than Lallana but not as gifted as Coutinho.

Vastly under rated player was Yossi. We let him go at least 2 seasons early.

6.) 08 Mar 2017 11:29:52
Think Burkeyboy hit the nail on the head - he did flit in and out of games but was always capable of producing something significant. Think he was more consistent than Garcia overall - though Garcia was capable of producing a magical moment from nowhere Benayoun was more consistent in his contributions (though not as individually spectacular as Garcia) .

{Ed002's Note - Jerry Garcia is an all time favourite of mione.}

7.) 08 Mar 2017 11:47:05
He was a good player but a bit inconsistent. Sometimes he didn't fancy it.

8.) 08 Mar 2017 15:02:58
ed002 which grateful dead album did you prefer between workingman's dead or American beauty?

{Ed002's Note - American Beauty is the second best album ever made.}

9.) 08 Mar 2017 16:23:17
ed002 could you kindly let me know which is the 1st?, box of rain is one of the best songs ever written imo.

{Ed002's Note - Electric Music for The Mind and Body by Country Joe and The Fish Kenny. I thought everyone knew that. Interestingly, I shall be seeing the remnants of the Grateful Dead play in June (as "Dead & Company").}

10.) 08 Mar 2017 16:42:30
thanks for the reply ed002, appreciate it.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

11.) 08 Mar 2017 21:33:56
Benayoun was awesome. very intelligent player who could do almost anything with the ball at his feet.

12.) 09 Mar 2017 13:52:25
When he felt like it.

Can any body tell me how good George Best was? If somebody saw him play.

I've seen him being remembered as one of the greatest ever.

Was he as good or better than King Kenny?

1.) 30 Nov 2016 06:55:35
He was the best and probably better than anyone.

2.) 30 Nov 2016 07:07:05
Best was finished at 26, so Kenny was clearly a greater player.

{Ed001's Note - this is a case of individual genius v team player. As an individual player, Best was light years ahead. As a team player, Kenny was the greatest by far.}

3.) 30 Nov 2016 07:19:14
Ask Pele who was the greatest player ever.

4.) 30 Nov 2016 07:36:06
Wrong question in a liverpool page. Best was the best. No shame in accepting it.

5.) 30 Nov 2016 07:50:44
Take the question to your team's site then Harry.

6.) 30 Nov 2016 08:03:57

Which one mate, Spurs, Chelsea, UTD, Arsenal lol.

7.) 30 Nov 2016 14:30:14
Nothing to do with LFC v Utd.
He was definitely up there in the top 3. In his era he probably was the best but I struggle to compare him to Diego. Diego was on another planet.

8.) 30 Nov 2016 16:14:29
Forlan wasn't that good, Ron, in fact he was god-awful for Utd!

9.) 30 Nov 2016 16:48:10
Pele. Maradonna. Best was prob top ten but definitely not no 1. Messi far better. And no I'm not 15. So I can remember the older players.
Thought Leeds looked decent last night?

Question for Ed002 if he/she is in
Now that the transfer window is over and things are back to normal, I would like to ask you something. I noticed you commented something like don't take notice of what Mourinho says in Pressers, he wants to rule the world.

I get that it was tongue in cheek but really what keeps a guy like Mourinho motivated.
For Brendan I'm sure the motivation is to win trophies and eventually work for Barca or Madrid.

But a guy like Mourinho, who's won everything there is, in multiple countries with the best clubs in the world, how does he motivate himself in a job like Football Management, where there is almost no thanks. You could win the treble one season and be reviled in the media the next if you lose 2 or 3 games on the trot.

Say he wins the Champions League with Chelsea this season, what is there left for him to achieve? How does a football manager keep himself up for the job?

{Ed002's Note - I would not have said anything about ruling the world, but in terms of transfers and other matters I would take what he says with a pinch of salt.

Motivation for JM is much the same as other managers, success. He is further motivated at Chelsea regarding the Champions League which he has not won with them. As to the future, eventually a job beckons at international level - offers are always there, he turned down the Brazil job only a few weeks ago.}

1.) 03 Sep 2014 13:10:00
The only thing greedy people want is more, and every successful person has a greedy element to it - no rich person is likely to be content with having a billion in their bank account any more than anyone who brings peace to a country is likely to stop there and ignore the rest of the world.

It won't matter to someone like Mourinho that they have won everything there is to win. They'll want to be the undeniably greatest manager of their generation. Then greatest living one, then greatest ever. Then maybe retire as the most successful ever with a record that will outlast their life. There is always more to do

{Ed002's Note - You seem to somehow be confusing "greed" with a "desire for success". You need to separate any thougts of money.}

A non football question. I just finished reading Carra's autobio, what a brilliant read it is. One of the better football related books i've read. Can the guys here suggest some other Liverpool books or any football related books for that matter?

{Ed001's Note - Secret Diary of a Liverpool Scout.}

1.) I'll be sure to check it out ED. Thanks for the reply.

{Ed001's Note - it is not the most exciting read, but it is a fascinating insight into the mind of a man who was as responsible for Liverpool's great years as just about anyone.}

2.) I've heard that Fowler's bio is also a pretty good read. I've also got Bellamy's bio, which I plan to read next.

{Ed001's Note - I should have recommended that too, sorry, it is a good book. Hamann's book is not bad, though a bit lacking in any substance, apart from pointing out what a useless arrogant tosser Mark Hughes is.}

3.) Tommy Smith's book is a cracker an all.

{Ed001's Note - good one, that is excellent. Might have to reread that one now.}

4.) And if you type 'Bob Paisley interview 1978' on YouTube, there's 23 little minutes of gems there too ed.
Recorded off a radio interview.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I will do that when I get a chance. Paisley was an absolute genius.}

5.) Has anyone taped / linked the '60 minutes with Kevin Keegan' progy off Lfctv?

6.) Historically Kenny's first book is good as is Graham Sounnes's for an alternative view.

40 Years With The Same Bird is a good read, Fowlers is interesting as is Keegan's original auto bio. Gerrads is great especially on his England duties. However Carra's is the most enjoyable so far.

7.) Not Liverpool related like the lad asked but Ronnie Woods book is unbelievable

8.) Alan Hansens is a good read, avoid Michael Owens like the plague its so boring, ouside LFC Tony Adams, Stuart Pearce & Vinnie Jones aren't too bad

{Ed001's Note - Stuart Pearce? Apart from his lies regarding Hillsborough being the fault of drunken fans, despite admitting he never saw anything and was locked in the dressing room the entire time, the book is dross! Pearce is a complete tool, but the book even lacked that complete lack of charm that the he displays on a daily basis. It was just boring. Vinnie Jones was ok, poorly written and lacking depth though, but ok because Jones is one hell of a character. It just didn't really show enough of his character. I have not read Adams' book, but it should be interesting.}

9.) A great book I read recently (although not entirely about LFC) was 'Soccernomics: Why Transfers Fail, Why Spain Rule The World And Other Curious Football Phenomena Explained'. it explains everything from why football clubs are a poor investment to statistical proof of predicting penalties. As the dodgy title suggests, it's kinda like freakenomics for the football fan.

{Ed002's Note - I think the real question you are wanting to ask is Who Is Bozo Texino?}

Now that you've mentioned Barca's interest I'm sure everybody would suddenly claim that he's a world beater and a must signing

I take it your Medel Love in is still going strong ED001.
Remember your posts from back in the day, how hurt you were when Cardiff signed him and then when he signed for Inter after Cardiff were relegated.

{Ed001's Note - he has been just about Inter's only decent player since going there. I still believe we missed a trick badly and still need a player like that.}

You can buy all official Liverpool merchandise in India from Shopredlabel.
I doubt they have the new kits just yet. Wait for a few weeks and I'm sure they'll get it soon.

Wow that's might just be the worst thing I have ever read on this site. And we all know how much drivel is posted here.
Constructive criticism is alright but this is downright racism.
You are an embarrassment. Hope the poster gets banned for this.
