Hi eds
Any news regards full back periera?
Seem to see spurs linked.?
Thanks.

Ste Dav

{Ed002's Note - Spurs have been talking to Ricardo Pereira's club.}

1.) 13 Jun 2017 19:01:03
Ouch ed.

2.) 13 Jun 2017 19:37:02
Ahhh.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 19:48:49
Well, Spurs willl be selling Walker to City and if they land Pereira will most likely end up with a better player than Walker while Liverpool will be stuck with Clyne :-o

I do not know where Liverpool's priorities ay in this window but my suggestion to Klopp is to go find two adept fullbacks.

Over and out.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool has shown no intent to sell Clyne.}

4.) 13 Jun 2017 19:56:54
Ed002, may the force be with Liverpool next season with Clyne running up and down the pitch again, aimlessly.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 20:19:37
If Trent is supposed to be as good as is being said why would we buy a right back likely to keep him from playing for years. Clyne is a capable right back. Solid enough at the back and yes he needs to improve in the final 3rd but hopefully he can.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 20:31:26
I think trippier is better than walker, wouldn't mind him at Liverpool.

7.) 13 Jun 2017 22:23:34
This is common practice isn't it? Spurs just used to scout our scouts, you could name a match day squad of Spurs lack of imagination in the transfer market with LFC linked players.

'Tis a shame we never bought Modric, Alli, Eriksen, Alderwierld, Gazza, Bale. list goes on.

8.) 13 Jun 2017 23:26:28
Total nonsense Max. The only thing it would show is how bad Liverpool are if they thought the likes of Bale, Modric and Alderwierld were not good enough. if it were true.

9.) 14 Jun 2017 00:17:56
My feelings exactly top dog. Clyne is solid and he is improving. Everyone says he can't cross the ball, but we don't have anyone to cross it to. That's not how we play. Clyne was involved in plenty of goals last season. Was classy against city, Chelsea and arsenal.

10.) 14 Jun 2017 08:36:33
Clyne has no one to cross to? I saw Trent play and wondered what could have been. Yes he needs to beef up and have a bullying presence, but he does not lack in confidence nor willingness to go for goal. Clyne can't cross, can't shoot a ball straight, but has a WONDERFUL engine, if he is improving, i can't see it, he scored no goal last season down from one the previous one. He needs to be trained on his offensive duties and have Trent give him a run for that position.

11.) 14 Jun 2017 14:17:22
JonnyS, Clyne was involved in plenty of goals last season sadly a fair number were scored against us.

12.) 15 Jun 2017 10:45:13
Crossing doesn't mean lumping the ball, you could reach the byline and cut back to pick a player like he picked Phil against Arsenal on the opening day!

Eds
Is it plausible klopp could / will tell Phil cou'o "if we can find a replacement you can go, if not then you have to stay?
Will we be looking at alternatives now incase?
Thanks.

Ste Dav

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

Afternoon eds,

With coutinho being subject of a bid from Barcelona and interest increasing. will we look to line up a replacement IF a bid was to good? Or are we confident we'll turn any offer away?

Ste Dav

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool don't want to sell but will look to replace him if he were to leave.}

1.) 26 Jul 2017 17:03:38
I wonder if we will go for a cm or a winger if he does leave.

2.) 26 Jul 2017 17:21:21
I would imagine we will go back in for Brandt or look towards Max Meyer as ed002 has previously suggested.

3.) 26 Jul 2017 17:21:47
Assuming NK isn't considered the direct replacement then I feel we need some creative spark to link the midfield and attack as our main creative source will be gone. What worries me is how integral Coutinho is in linking the team together and without him we could be in serious trouble.

4.) 26 Jul 2017 18:48:10
Ed002 - couple of questions if possible. With regards to Coutinho have the club scouted players ready for the eventuality he would leave and sustained interest in anyone in particular or do you know of the targets we could turn to to replace him as it feels as if this was not Keita who was in addition to Coutinho. Second question is I saw you mention Barcelona were looking to release/ sell certain players this summer and may include in potential deals, is there a list of who they were looking to sell?

{Ed002's Note - (a) Max Meyer is the best fit. (b) You need the Barcelona page for that.}

5.) 26 Jul 2017 20:03:11
Max Meyer, Ed? How so? I have seen him play and he's not good enough at least not yet, to replace Couts, IMO.

Hi eds,

Quick question, to help young players in England get game time could the fa allow extra, say 2 more subs named on the bench for young English u20's? Still only use 3 subs but option there.
Or would this have to be a FIFA "for all" rule change?
Thanks.

Ste Dav

{Ed002's Note - They could not make it "English" only - that would discrimination but other countries do allow more subsititues on the bench (but a max of three being used) in local competitions.}

1.) 30 Jun 2017 11:29:04
Don't see why they don't just do rolling subs like they do in youth level.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 12:10:48
I would imagine it would slow the game up too much, Alfie. We already get 30 seconds per substitution added on. If teams were able to roll in their 'offensive' or 'defensive' players depending on the situation (free kicks, corners etc) like they do in American Football, added time could end up doubling the length of a game!

If we confirm VVD then that imo is an absolutely great signing. Big, tall, very quick, great in the air and on the ball. Best cb signing in years. I think will be a huge success. Will change our defence look and how opposition view our defence.

Ste Dav

1.) 05 Jun 2017 21:27:26
I can't see that there is any negatives? He's a collosus and lightning quick to boot, he's good on the ball and physically strong.

05 Jun 2017 00:00:07
Quick question.

On top of someone like keita would we look to replace Lucas if he left with another midfielder?

Ste Dav

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot keep adding players without someone leaving.}

1.) 05 Jun 2017 02:24:41
well said ed002 more players will be leaving than arriving, they have to, every player that leaves does NOT need replacing, we need a more manageable squad in terms of numbers, squad players can be covered by youngsters.

2.) 05 Jun 2017 07:36:23
i imagine more first team players will be incoming rather than leaving, I imagine a lot of the players leaving would be the ones on loan or ones that couldn't make the match day team, Stewart, Flanno, Markovic, Bogdan, Moreno, Wisdom, Sakharov, Kent? Ojo? Randall? Brannagan?

3.) 05 Jun 2017 08:24:12
Presuming you meant Sakho Cobracraig there's actually about £80m worth of players there in total. Makes you think. And that's for players that will not even make the bench most of the time.
I would send Branagan on loan this season though and not sell him. Same with Ojo.

4.) 05 Jun 2017 10:33:10
I put question marks for the ones that may go on loan, but yes we could get a lot of money for players that don't feature although that would all be eaten up by a deal for VVD if it went through.

5.) 05 Jun 2017 10:31:27
Predictive text on Sakho yes.

6.) 05 Jun 2017 10:36:51
Sakho-£20m
Markovic-£8-10m
Lucas-£5-8m
Stewart-£5-8m
Moreno-£5m
Flanno-£3m
Wisdom-£3m
They look the ones almost certain to leave, I have guessed the fees but we could maybe get 50/ 60m for them?

7.) 05 Jun 2017 11:20:18
Lucas contract expire this summer, so will leave for free.

8.) 05 Jun 2017 11:38:23
My bad, thought he had a year to run.

9.) 05 Jun 2017 11:51:56
Kingkenny do you think there was enough quality in the squad last season when injuries hit because personally I don't my point being with more games this season coming we are definitely going to need more players in than ot.

10.) 05 Jun 2017 15:01:03
we don't need to keep stock piling players, we have yet to officially qualify for the cl, we barely compete in the fa cup under klopp the lc is a lottery so we could easily end up with just the pl to compete in, we don't need a large squad if that happens, we cannot afford to have players on large wages doing nothing for most of the season ( ref rooney at utd) that would be a financial disaster for the club.

Steven Caulker played through a very bad mental illness. which as a byproduct effects you physically. He did well just to train everyday!

Potentially he could be star / w class! Would he be worth the risk? CM in the premiership maybe be up against it with coutinho in there also. Could he be an option ed?

I remember Owen was on the bench when he was due to go to Madrid when we played the champs L qualifier. was a big thing at the time due to being cup tied.

Would love our youngsters to play. seems klopp not lover of ojo, Kent will be interesting one to see if klopp rates him enough. if not will only have 2 wingers. Maybe buy striker who can play out wide? .
