Alright Eds, just wondering if there's any update on where Borini might be going? I had a search in looked like Sunderland a week or to ago.

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - nothing new mate, nothing has changed with him.}

Pepjin Linders could be the new first team coach

1.) 13 Jun 2015 10:39:38
Whoooo?

{Ed001's Note - he is already at the club as a coach, we got him from FC Porto I think. Unless I am completely mistaken!}

2.) 13 Jun 2015 11:00:58
Yeah, I just found his profile on the liverpool website:
Pepijn Lijnders was appointed coach of Liverpool U16s in August 2014, assuming the reins from Michael Beale. He switched to Merseyside from FC Porto, having also spent time with PSV Eindhoven.

Hopefully might help bringing through more young players, if the above is true.

{Ed001's Note - cheers, I never even thought of checking the offal site doh.}

3.) 13 Jun 2015 14:30:34
He's a very impressive coach and his ideas are breath taking . great education as well!

http://goo.gl/MZhPHb

have a read of this site, also played a large part in educating Depay and Ryan Gauld etc. Another coach I'd look at Cathro from Valencia, Scottish coach! another great education, have a read up on him.
Neil

{Ed001's Note - Cathro just left Valencia to return to Scotland for personal reasons, I don't think he will be willing to leave just yet.}

Alright Ed's,

Hope all is well.

Apologies if this has been answered as I've not seen it anywhere, but has there been any movement on the departures of Lambert or Borini?

Cheers

Stured

{Ed001's Note - there has been interest in Borini, he was waiting to see who was manager for next season before making any decisions, as he is desperate to prove himself with us, so I would expect him to pack his bags and return to Italy now. Lambert is unlikely to go anywhere.}

1.) 04 Jun 2015 02:17:38
If Ings and another striker are signed Lambert would never even get on the team sheet

2.) 04 Jun 2015 05:58:38
I have no problem whatsoever with Lambert staying. He's a good , loyal squad member who will work hard for the club. I'd be more than happy if he stays as long as he realises he won't b e the first name on the team-sheet

{Ed001's Note - he signed knowng he was not going to be first name on the team sheet, though I am sure he expected a bit more than the odd dying seconds of a game.}

3.) 04 Jun 2015 07:52:34
And he does look like staying then mate?

{Ed001's Note - he wants to.}

4.) 04 Jun 2015 08:59:08
Didn´t Lambert try to push through a move to Aston Villa in january?

{Ed002's Note - Lambert turned down offers in January.}

My honest takings on the transfer window.

Sure, there's a couple of players I'd rather we hadn't got. But I'm happy to see we've actually gone in the right direction with offloading some players and getting some sort of fee back, obviously leaving Balotelli and Markovic out.

I'm not particularly trusting in Klopp's eye for a player but I am trusting in his coaching ability, so it's a bit of a who knows situation for this season, but I'm going to enjoy the ride, as I know that's what it will be.

Cheers.

Mane looks class so far, wijnaldum is a strange buy, Karius will be the new number 1, as will matip with lovren, klavan as cover. Didn't see no left back happening at the start, but that aside, I don't think there's much lacking in the team in weeks to come.

2.) 01 Sep 2016 00:36:55
not buying a left back is a disaster, we will concede goal after goal, how Klopp didn't make that obvious weakness his first signing is a mystery, no chance on top four, lots of teams will hit us for 2/ 3 goals, as it is now we have let in six goals in 3 games, that tells you that we have a serious problem .

3.) 01 Sep 2016 01:48:12
Agree that LB is a position that would have liked to have seen sorted, it was one of the 2 priority positions in my opinion to sort (GK the other obvious one) . However, don't think it is a disaster or that it will result in 2/ 3 goals conceded per game, maybe with a bit of support and training Millie will prove to be an improvement on the position, too early to say, give him time to learn it better.

Own take on the window is that its been mixed, like most not understanding Wijnaldum, Mane looking good and hoping to see Grujic get a chance unlike recent years with some of our transfers. At least there was some strategy to the window after recent years of mismanagement and wasting money, a balancing of the books had to come.

4.) 01 Sep 2016 02:16:38
Grujic IMO will prove to be one of the best purchases in the league long term.

Hi ed's,

Probably not something you want to answer, but generally speaking when it comes to shirt sales, do clubs just earn what they get paid in the contract?

United fans telling me they'll make a shed load off Zlatan shirts which I'm sure is wrong.

Thanks.

Stured

{Ed001's Note - generally they get the merchants cut off what is sold in the club's official stores, plus whatever the amount the manufacturers pay for the privilege of making the shirt. There are ways to earn extra money off a player, for instance when AS Roma signed Hidetoshi Nakata they released a line of limited edition polo shirts. Their sales alone paid for the transfer fee.}

1.) 07 Jun 2016 20:40:36
So what your saying is ed, sign higuain and release a polo shirt to pay for the £70m transfer fee ;)

{Ed001's Note - oh god, now you will have people believing it!}

2.) 07 Jun 2016 20:44:09
Cheers for that Ed.

3.) 07 Jun 2016 22:44:32
Similar thing said about Madrid buying Beckham years ago. It's said they made the outlay back in a day! Mental.

4.) 07 Jun 2016 22:47:35
We missed a trick not releasing a Mario Balotelli Jock Strap made for the wearing on your head; could have paid for his flight to Milan!

5.) 08 Jun 2016 03:37:53
We should have released a Mario Balotelli firework range as the sales could have paid our UEFA fines.

Hi ed's,

Have you noticed a change in difficulty to get information out of LFC since Klopp arrived? Or still the same?

Cheers.

Stured

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea about information from the club itself and it would be nothing to do with Klopp, but information is freely available.}

Ed001, who's the better keeper, Mignolet or Westerveld?

I was a kid when Westerveld was playing so can't remember much

Ta.

Stured

{Ed001's Note - initially Westerveld was better, but he ended up as bad, though he could kick.}

1.) 18 Jan 2016 20:46:07
Westerveld was my hero because he replaced Calamity James. Sadly he got Corriganned. Same thing happened to Dudek. He was amazing in his first season, but then turned into a jittering mess with teflon on his gloves. He recovered a bit, but was never as good as his first season.

Actually who was the last goalie we didn't ruin? Brucie?

2.) 18 Jan 2016 21:21:19
I loved westervield but to be fair that's when I was getting into football big time. But the thing I remember most about him was him making a mistake while I was in a restaurant with my family on holiday. When my dad jumps out of his chair swears very loudly in front of 100 people apologies and drinks all round.

3.) 18 Jan 2016 21:48:30
I thought sander was terrible to be honest. I had high hopes for Kirkland when he came in. In my opinion Pepe has the best we have had in years but went off the boil.

4.) 18 Jan 2016 22:29:10
Hard to ruin quality surely? Hands down, Ray Clemence was the best I've seen in a Liverpool shirt. Reina at his best was also very good. I remember one day being right behind the Kop goal when some nob ran into the goal mouth behind Grobbelar, faced the crowd and started a little dance. We all laughed and Brucie turned around and spotted the guy. He then took the guys legs out from behind to loud cheers from the crowd and then security took him away. Couldn't imagine it today, the guy would probably sue for emotional damage.

5.) 18 Jan 2016 22:33:48
Worst mistake I saw Westerveld make was the own goal
Against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Still a better keeper than Mignolet though.

6.) 18 Jan 2016 22:29:37
Always the weak link at our club. There are 10+ goalkeepers In the prem alone that would jump at the chance to play for Liverpool. But we give Migs a new contract instead.

24 Sep 2015 13:35:18
Ed001, apologies if this has been asked already, but who would be your preferred replacement if Rodgers were to go?

Cheers

Stured

{Ed001's Note - Klopp, Schmidt, Ancelotti, any of those would be a huge upgrade from Rodgers.}

1.) 24 Sep 2015 14:20:09
They'd all be an upgrade yes, in fact anyone who has won something would be an upgrade

2.) 24 Sep 2015 15:10:59
Any of those possible at this time ed?

{Ed001's Note - unlikely.}

3.) 24 Sep 2015 15:41:28
Klopp's people have basically pleaded come and get me to the media today.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is untrue.}

4.) 24 Sep 2015 16:27:37
Any manager who doesn`t make it up as he goes along and has an idea of what he`s doing, is an upgrade on BR, frankly.

Bogdan did a Bogdan and completely took a player out in the box.

Saved the pen but couldn't get the rebound.

That's absolutely mental ed, you'd think youd want all your staff unified.

{Ed001's Note - he has his ways and they sometimes work well for him, but it must be said, the minute things go bad, they fall apart because of it.}
