Hi Ed01 just seen the post by Benny for a whip round for you. I will add to your fund when the Mrs comes back with my card mate. I remember the old chat page yrs ago and you use to give me grief about me leaving the chat cause me Mrs was telling me too. Anyway glad to help out, and if you run one for Edo2, Benny. I have a spare Toffee Crisp Wrapper here. where do I send it to? Great site Ed been with you from the days of just rumours.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate good to know there are so many that have hung around so long.}

Talking of Shanks, my fav quote was him speaking to Alex Lindsey on his debut. "When you get the ball I want you to beat a few men and smash the ball into the net, like you use to do at Bury. " Bemused Lindsey said, " But boss that wasn't me it was Bobby Kerr. "
Bill turned to Paisley and said, "Christ Bob, we've signed the wrong player.
What a f***ing legend.

I was not surprised by our defeat yesterday. The Manager got it wrong with the players on the pitch.
I know this page as become the Flanno the greatest thing since sliced bread society, but why Captain?
He doesn't influence a game in the slightest. A strong tackler and would be great in defensive set back 4 team that stays together and as the Gandalf mentality of you shall not pass.
I agree he has the heart of a lion, but this he's a local lad and he's aggressive argument doesn't wash with me.
The stats since his comeback has been played the full 90 minutes on 4 occasions and in 3 of them games we have been beaten.
I am not blaming him for the defeats alone. I am just saying he doesn't deserve the captains armband, or a place in the team, on the grounds that he's a scouser who has been devastated with injuries.

Agree with you, He was non existent through out and guilty of the 1st and third goal. Emre Can was also at fault.

2.) 21 Mar 2016 10:58:54
Don't let ed1 hear you say that.

{Ed001's Note - there is no denying he is not back to his best, but he has been out for nearly two years, it takes a long time to shake off the rust.}

3.) 21 Mar 2016 11:18:40
Time to get Edd China in with the sanding pads and a new top coat?

4.) 21 Mar 2016 12:05:29
I don't think he has what it takes to play the Klopp way. Hendo was not there to bail him out when he went forward and miss place his passes. He turns like the Titanic and will always leave the Centre Back exposed.
He would be perfect in a solid style back 4 that just sit like Leicester do.
He is a great lad tough as teak and would be in my team all day long under Houlier, but the way we play with a high press, he needs to react faster. I agree that he's ring rusty, but he has always been slow at turning and I just don't think he suits the highline style of play.
I remember saying the same about Carragher in later yrs.
Before I am accused of not liking scousers playing for Liverpool. I was born in Liverpool and look at my sign off name.

5.) 22 Mar 2016 02:19:57
He def has a place, he is just rusty.

6.) 22 Mar 2016 04:50:29
one minute we are fuming his contract has not been sorted, then we are thrilled he has been made club captain, one bad result and performance later, he is not good enough, he won't fit into klopps team etc, as the posters have said not surprisingly he is rusty, but every time this player is written off he comes back stronger, I back him to do so again.

I stated that at the time Liverpool bought Stewart he was a full back and credit to inglethorp and Beale for developing him into a Defensive midfielder. Ed01 came back at me and said I was 100% wrong and I am not. Ed01 states Inglethorp bought him to play DM. That well maybe true, but at the time we bought the lad he was a full back and Micheal Beale had to talk to the lad to convince him to play D M. QUOTE" Kevin came here as a full back he wanted to be a right footed left back" said Beale. " After 2 training sessions with us, me and Alex had a conversation where we both said that Kevin had the qualities to play in midfield 2 footed athletic" The under 21's where playing Norwich before xmas last season when Connor Randall was suppose to be playing DM and took ill in pre match" I sprung it on Kevin. We hadn't tried it in training. I played him in midfield for the first time and he was outstanding "It took us back a bit. We thought wow we will perservere with that. He played 4 more times in that position and was sent on loan" What I said I was repeating quotes off Micheal Beale so I wasn't 100% wrong like Ed01 states. When we signed Stewart the lad was a full back and he was changed to Midfield by Alex and Micheal Beale. Alex might have signed him with the thought of changing the lads position I am not going to argue with that, but I am not 100% wrong for stating that the lad was a full back when signed because he was.

Apart from your terrible sentence structure and lack of paragraphing, this is just a long winded attempt to say you are right and Ed001 is wrong I'm guessing?

2.) 15 Feb 2016 12:15:51
And we shalt bask in thou glory.

3.) 15 Feb 2016 12:20:15
No, it is just stating that what I wrote in a previous post wasn't 100% wrong. I guess sticking up for yourself is wrong on this site, as it just brings out judgemental trolls wanting to slap people down. That's fine. You won't have to struggle reading my post in future. I won't post anymore, not till I finish my English Language degree.

4.) 15 Feb 2016 13:45:04
I understand that you wanted to prove that your initial point was at least partly correct, but when you do it a year or so after the original argument, it DOES come across as point-scoring against the Ed. No need to stop posting though, that would be an over-reaction, and at least your post gave us some info that we weren't aware of, which is more than most of the posts provide.

Migs is and always will be average at best. He was a cheaper option than Pepe. If we had replaced Pepe with a Keeper as good then in my opinion we would have won the league in 2012.The decision to give him a pay rise after the last 2 seasons must be nothing more than crazy. One thing he must get credit for was the way he showed solidarity with the supporters yesterday. and downed tools after 77 minutes.

I think that Mignolet will emerge as an outstanding back-up keeper for us, starting next season, he is 28 shortly and, in my opinion, should not be first choice for a team aiming for a top four spot. I am convinced that Klopp will address this position in the summer.

As for Reina, he was indeed an excellent goalkeeper for four seasons here, unfortunately he stayed for eight, perhaps one day someone will come on these pages and give their opinion why he went to pieces at an age when most keepers come in to their prime.

2.) 07 Feb 2016 11:46:07
He's the standard of a back up keeper but his wages are way up on what you would want to pay one.

3.) 07 Feb 2016 13:43:11
He should never have been given a new contract. A GK that terrible shouldn't even be making the stands. Klopp is at fault for that and he'd better fix it ASAP.

I think he's played 90 minutes in 8 games this season soring 4 goals and making 4 assist in those full games, not bad stats. In the 19 games he played Bayern never lost. He's letting his contract run down and whinging to the press just like Ed02 stated.

I have heard the joiners at Ibrox have already widened the doors for his head to get in. Like all leaving players a big thank you and good luck.

WE got Lalana Ibe and Ojo. They are no way near the level of Mkhitaryn.

Obviously he will need to get fitter but he his better in front of goal and he has proven he can play outstanding under Klopps pressing style.
I am not having a go at Adam his work rate as kept him in the team, but goals and assist win you games. In this department Gotze has a proven record. Klopp would love to have them both to rotate. Why not?

His form has slipped because he's not fit. He's not fit because of injuries and lack of playing time. I watched him yesterday and his finishes were class. Old saying form temporary class permenant. It's not a couple of yrs slump. The last 3 seasons attacking midfielder Bayern 15 goals 15 goals and 6 this season where he has only played 8 full games and 21 games in total.
Klopp will get the lad fitter if he signs him and this will improve his overall form. Manager tactics alo play apart of a players form.

Origi has fitted into the Klopp style better than our other available strikers through his graft and hold up play. I do believe he will get better. Ings when fit will also play well in our press style. Burnley pressed similar and Ings did really well there.

I think a 3 of Couts Firmino and Gotze playing behind a striker would definitely improve us. While Lalana has worked hard he lacks that quality final pass or finish that Gotze would offer. At the price reported it's a no brainer.
My transfer policy would be only buy if he's better than what we have. He has a better end product than Lalana an would improve our goal tally. I Imagine him playing under Klopp again would get the best out of him.

Keep tapping away MK, that's what the sites for. I will miss the footie too mate, but I expect us to be very busy in the transfer market this summer, especially if we qualify for the Champions League, by winning on Wednesday. So I look forward to reading your comments on what business we do.
